Oh, definitely! He could essentialy become quite an interesting character, if the devs wanted to. There are enough potential plot-threads for him to play a role in.

I do think this is obvious, we got the book 2 expansions later that revealed dreadlord spies. It's completely intentional for everyone to rethink about him back on the Argus ship. Why else have him there at all.

There might not necessarily be a plan. Denathrius implanted his dreadlords as spies in every major force in the universe. The primary reason for that is simply information. Unless otherwise stated, the reason is to keep themselves in the best possible circumstance.

I wonder if Lothraxion is who the family discovers in the Legion base?

Also, random spitball thought on Midnight zones- Metzen said the plot was about elf reunification right? I think this is solely about the Thalassians (Nightborne will be there through royal ties, Night Elves probably will still be on a break), and what if that is the launch campaign? Like helping each group and then getting them united together to push back whatever is attacking the Sunwell?

There's four main groups: Sin'dorei, Quel'dorei, Ren'dorei and Darkfallen. There's also four main zones. Nightmare scenario but it could be each zone has one of those groups for the renown and the story is about solving an issue in the zone that leaves the group free to help the fight. So the four zone renowns could be each of the four Thalassian groups.

Two reasons I think this is unlikely:
    1) Don't know who would be the group for the inevitable Amani zone.
    2) I really don't think that, despite Twitter/Bsky whining, they are going to villainbat the Amani again. Way more likely there will be a rebel group or, in a twist, they are friendly. So the Amani will very likely be their own renown.

Still, I think it's interesting that there are four main Thalassian groups to match up with the expecte four zones. Maybe they will be tentatively linked to other factions (Forsaken for the Darkfallen, ???? for the Ren'dorei) instead? And one of the groups (maybe Quel'dorei?) will have a story in Zul'aman.

I think the Night Elves will appear on a secondary role. Having Malfurion restore Thas'alah and then adding Blood Elf Druids would be a great conclusion to a Ghostlands zone. Of course it could be just Merithra or even Hamuul who gets it done. But the Night Elves and Blood Elves burying the hatchet makes sense in the current story.

I would love Thas'alah coming back, and Malfurion doing it would make sense, but I do wish Belf Druids would be influenced by the Amani.

Maybe the idea is for Amani to be playable down the road with those forms instead, as they have worked on their new models. And I can see them beefing up/changing the women as well (as they currently just use Darkspear models).

The thing with Blood Elf druids is that the most obvious choices for forms is the Amani Loa forms. I mean you'd expect the Lynx to be their cat form, which is Halazzi. Similar with Bear and Dragonhawk.

Right, so maybe it could be Amani druids who save Thas'alah. THAT is one way to bury their hatchet.

I mean, we kind of already have confirmation that part of the Amani will be villains. There's a void trail that went cold near Zul'aman. Obviously set-up for Void Trolls. So I wager the Amani are gonna be the Nerubar of 12.0

I honestly struggle to see how Amani and Elves could ever be friendly.

They will be friendly by virtue of Blizzard refusing to, in 2025, make the -native- inhabitants of Quel'thalas with a genuine grudge all be massacred as villains (for a third time). Like, the real world implications would be disastrous.

I'm guessing a splinter group turns to the Elves through Horde-Zandalari ties when a bunch of them start using the Void to prepare for an invasion. And then when the Void Amani are dealt with the Amani officially join the Horde.

The best scenario would be a clean truce negotiated by Talanji with clear borders. And maybe then we find out what was beneath the Sunwell.

That could actually be the angle they are going with- the void monster is underneath Zul'aman. Maybe the idea is that it wants to travel underground to below the Sunwell, in order to corrupt it?

I could see the reveal being it's another Beledar crystal.

Oh Kith'ix is below Zul'aman since that is how the Troll vs Aqir war ended. But we also know that the location of the Sunwell was a very important site for the Amani. So something was in IQD before the Sunwell. We know the elves chose it because it was a ley line nexus.

I'm expecting some Delves centered around exploring Amani tombs in the Ghostlands like those quests I've done 500 times. I expect Kith'ix to be the season 1 Delve boss.

I think Kith'ix will be the first raid boss, as Amani makes sense as the first raid and there isn't another named villain in that area. Unless they roll out Zul'jin 2.0.

Kith'ix in the west, Darkhan to the south. North antagonist will be ???
