That's a ridiculously huge tree if it has roots south of Tanaris and North of Northrend. It's canopy would hit the moon. Azeroth would look like an apple with an arrow sticking out of it.

LMAO, I was being half-sarcastic because I really think it's a cool elf variant.

But I was already imagining the same scenario as the stone dwarves... probably Blizzard : « You want ethereals? Okay, here's yet another elf reskin! Enjoy! »

    What canopy?

There is no crown, it's only the roots of a World Tree.

And even if there was, it's a magic tree, there is no set root-to-crown ratio.
Nordrassil is the smallest World Tree we got, and its roots reach all the way down to the foot of Hyjal.

That depends. Do we get something sort of credible info to chew on?

Metzen kinda messed up the usual flow. He confirmed the title the logo and the general plot beats when the Worldsoul Saga was revealed.
Normally we'd be laughing at poorly made fake logos, and insulting those who don't believe the fake logo that we like.
We need pictures or datamining. Somezthing to speed it up.

    Or a really funny shitpost.

Really, the only thing we don't know about Midnight is to what extent we are in Quel'thalas, and obviously the storybeats, and maybe the second big feature after housing.

It's going to be a very dry leak season.

Thatd be really cool to have a different colour tint for stuff like divine storm... silver or purple-ish, combined with a questline to unlock it... perfect for midnights setting, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.

Okay, to combat the leak desert (hehe, leek dessert)

Who do you predict will get a model update?

    My list:
Vereesa Windrunner is pretty much a given. She is the only Windrunner girl without a fanservice goth outfit. That is a sort of initiation ritual.

First Arcanist Thalyssra: I feel like Mrs Theron's current outfit is a bit basic for a racial leader and has a few odd clipping issues.

Shandris Feathermoon: Same thing. She leads the Night Elves now. She needs to look the part.

Tess Greymane: Only if we involve Gilneas. And why wouldn't we, considering its close proximity and recent reclamation. Tess is Queen name.

Lilian Voss and pretty much every Desolate Council member besides Calia: Next to the portal to QT, so Forsaken will likely take part. But most council members look like playable characters wearing leveling gear.

Dar'Khan Drathir: The demented lovechild of Astarion and Sephiroth wearing the largest pimp hat on Azeroth. The guy is a total riot and should definitely return with a new model that befits his sense of style.

I think in midnight we're getting new hero talents that are shared between different classes' specializations instead of shared between specialization of the same class.

    Some examples:
Blademaster , shared between arms warrior and windwalker monk
Twilight Cultist, shared between shadow priest and elemental shaman
Warden, shared between subtlety rogue and protection paladin
Hierophant, shared between discipline priest and balance druid
Witch Doctor, shared between holy priest and restoration shaman
Fangbearer, shared between enhancement shaman and feral druid

That's why we're probably getting a 40th spec, to make all the specs have an unique pairing to share the new hero talent tree.

I mean, definitely Arator, and I am going to say Alleria is going to get another one based on the book cover just being her 3D model rather than unique artwork.

Very true. Metzen framed it as the ultimate fight between Shadow and Light. While this is definitely not true as they want to continue WoW after this, so some shadow is bound to survive, a confrontation like this kinda needs Velen there.

Unless Vereesa is used as an important character this expansion, it is very unlikely. My guesses are :

    >Arathor, as he will become an important character later during Midnight
    >Thalyssra, I do agree with you
    >Shandris too as this expansion will probably be elf-focused
    >Maybe a shaved version of Anduin ?
    >Velen. I could easily see draenei presence in Midnight. Maybe we'll even use the Vindicaar ? Only possible if ethereals are playable in Midnight, led by either Ven'ari or Locust.

I think Vereesa and Arator are definites.

Maybe Rokhan if he's involved in the Amani story. Its always sad if there's a racial leader who uses a basic model and TBC gear.

I am with you on Shandris and Voss needing updates and probably being more heavily involved in the story.

Sadly though we'll probably get yet another Thrall and Anduin model update rather than any of these.

I mean, isn't Vereesa basically the High Elf racial leader/representative at this point?

The Elven leaders are pretty much
    Veeesa - High
    Lor'Themar - Blood
    Alleria - Void
    Shandris - Night
    Sylvanas - Dead
    Thalyssra - Nightborn
    Azshara - Mutated into Naga

I have a feeling once we read the novel and learn the reason of the redesign (if we get any), you will hate that as well.

    Question

I thought about the TWW Logo cinematic recently. Did they show us Azeroth cracking up because it will happen at the end (just before midnight, maybe pre-patch event)? Or is that how the world will look like after the worldsoul saga when maybe the sword gets pulled out? Why did they show us something like this specifically for TWW? I can't imagine that was made to just have a "nice looking cinematic" which has nothing to do with the story...

What non-elven characters do you think will play a role in Midnight?

Anduin, Turalyon & Velen 100%. Calia most likely. Thrall & Rokhan for the Amani?
