Seems odd to have that Draenei part yet not have them have a heritage armor set.

But yeah I could see it being man'ari eredar being brought in, skin wise.

On a serious note, really excited about Night Elf heritage armour and customisation options.

If Dreamsurges are themed around the Emerald Dream, they should be cool as well. Hopefully we get some transmog from those.

Also super welcome with updates to Brewfest an Hallow's End.

Other than that, seems significantly lighter in content than 10.0.7. But I guess that depends on how large of a feature Dreamsurges is, and how big the holiday updates end up being.
Considering 10.0.5 was basically nothing, and 10.0.7 was much larger, and the new 10.1.5 patch was much larger than 10.0.5, it makes sense for 10.1.7 to be a bit smaller in scale.

and the night elves can adorn themselves with additional choices of face and body tattoos.
    We are getting new markings.
I repeat, we are getting new markings!

    It's time to rejoice!

This is a good guess, I think. It makes a lot of sense for a lot of former Burning Legion Eredar to come back into the fold now that their crusade is finally over, doesn't it?

Also re: Night Elves, I think they sorely need more than just tattoos or markings. They need new hairstyles and faces. Badly. But I'll take what I can get!

That is good point, cause Blizzard usually stick to seasons and clearly 10.1.7 is still under Fall. But after 10.1.7 reveal I still doubt 10.2 will be later than October 10th (so race would wrap up before Blizzcon).

It's just 2 new heritages and pre 10.2 event, not even timewalking/brawler's guild yet (which is guess is moved to 10.2.X), could be even shorter than 6 week long 10.0.7.

Another thing to notice: the older roadmaps had 10.1.7 pretty solidly listed under "Fall".
    https://www.wowhead.com/news/wow-dra...shots:330697:1

The new version shifts "Fall" way to the right. Since autumn begins around September 23 in North America, my previous release date guess was September 26 (the first Tuesday of autumn).

Now, though, we might be able to expect 10.1.7 sometime in late August or early September, it seems. 10.2 is probably also coming sooner than expected as well. October, I'm guessing.

Should also note that it says that updated Brewfest is in the patch. I know we've seen a few pieces of it datamined already, but given that Brewfest is September 20th...

The name of the patch is pretty interesting, isn't it? Fury Incarnate.

This instantly makes you think of Fyrrak. He's also had his little "Deathwing moment" flying over the Dragon Isles in 10.1, but I'm guessing they'll keep that crescendo going into 10.2 when he probably assaults the Emerald Dream?

It's just funny to me, since nothing in the patch news seems to mention anything about that stuff. There's a fiery background image in the roadmap, that's about it.

Maybe the Dreamsurges and those Waking Dream portals the post mention, will be because the dream is in turmoil (meaning he already attacked it)?

Or maybe... maybe the new World Tree made the Dream all super-charged, and erratic. It would be cool and unexpected if we actually went in there to ensure Life is less chaotic. After all, when we aided the other flights, it was mostly against their own machinations or cosmic powers and not against some external threat, wasn't it?

Yeah good point! Not that it matters right now, but technically I guess that also means 10.2 will contain a Winter Veil refresh.

I know I was an idiot about Fyrakk before (not gonna forgive myself for missing the damned obvious "flame extinguished" being the sundered flame...) but maybe this is the patch where he's handled?

I dunno, at this point after my idiocy I'm not gonna call it for sure, heh.

It was pretty obvious Fyrakk was going to be fought again and well DREAM SURGES kinda show where we're going in 10.2.

I would expect season 3 to start a couple of weeks before Blizzcon. But I'm not sure if they would talk about the last season and the next expac or only the latter.

My mind is spinning right now, so I'm a bit spammy with my posts.

But imagine if the new Night Elf heritage armour takes a completely different direction from what (I assume) most people want. Instead of some cool Warcraft 3-inspired Sentinel set, we get some cutesy Fae-dragon nonsense worn by priests in a temple or something. Eek. Where armour pieces barely fit together, gloves and boots are way too chunky and the helmet is simply goofy (thinking of the Darkshore set).

Slightly more details on some things from the press announcement:

CONTINUING STORY QUESTS AND CAMPAIGN PROLOGUE

o The next chapters of ongoing stories will be available, teeing up what’s coming later this year in update 10.2.
o Players can also expect the next chapters of the Reforging Tyr questline.
o Lastly, quests featuring the Bronze Dragonflight that aim to bring resolution to the flight’s forays into the timeways during the events of Fractures in Time (10.1.5) will be playable!

DAWN OF THE INFINITE – HEROIC DIFFICULTY
o The Infinite Dragonflight, longstanding enemies of the Bronze dragons, have worked hard to see their ultimate goal of triggering the transformation of Nozdormu, the Aspect of Time, into Murozond.
o This eight-boss Mythic-only mega-dungeon will be split into two queueable Heroic-difficulty dungeons.

    NEW PUBLIC OBJECTIVES: Dreamsurges
o Various existing Dragonflight zones will become attuned to the Dream, causing all of the zone’s rares and world quests to drop a special currency. This currency can be used to enable zone-wide buffs and trigger Waking Dream invasion events similar to Time Rifts.
o Dream-empowered rares can also drop gear tokens (similar to the tokens dropped by rares on the Forbidden Reach), making them a great source for catch-up gear for alts or new and returning players.

    NEW CUSTOMIZATIONS
o A batch of new customizations will be available for players to try out, including:
Heritage armor and associated unlock questlines for Night Elf and Forsaken.
Along with new heritage armor, additional face and body tattoos will be available for Night Elf players, and new skin colors will be available for Forsaken players.

And so much more! Additional information and updates to the PTR for 10.1.7 throughout the testing cycle can be found on our In Development forums, as well as the World of Warcraft website.

The timing of it happening right after Draenei Warlocks became a thing makes me think that aswell. I can't see them not giving them the red skin option atleast at some point, and it's a bit weird to do a Draenei exclusive quest in what seems to be a Nelf/Forsaken focus patch.

  18. #9238
I'm guessing September 12th or 19th given the Brewfest rework, that'd slot it right in. Regarding the heritage armor, I think it's best to assume it's final. I remember people saying that the orc and human armors seemed unfinished and I believe they were unchanged from the preview, save a bug with the human armor having some assets missing compared to the preview.

Ooh right, so a Dreamsurge is literally a surge. The normal content in the zone becomes all dreamified. Earn a currency from doing it when it's in that special state, and use currency to launch Waking Dream invasion events. Neato. Bit fed up with invasion-type events, but as long as they're green and drop Life magic-inspired gear we're all good.

Nice, account wide gear tokens. Hopefully they won't screw it up and we will able change them to sets too, since S2 looks a lot better.
