They have been working on housing for 3-4 years and it just happens to line up with midnight. They have a small, dedicated team just for housing working in other office (Like Preach said). Unless we just wanna assume that rest of the development team were AFK for 2 years and didnt do anything besides story, zones and encounters Then sure. I have a feeling Midnights gonna blow peoples minds, unless they are pure negative haters.
Ultimately I don't think any writing beyond maybe mere setbacks if we are lucky into a victory will occur this saga. The current Narrative Team are very much against all forms of negativity and bad things so I just don't really see it happening.
Again, maybe we do get some setbacks but I am not holding out for the whole "OH FUCK SOMETHING HAPPENED IN WORLD OF WARCRAFT THAT MEANS THERES STAKES ACTIVE". I just don't think that will transpire.

I no longer reply to quotations beyond if you're asking a genuine question or have a non-confrontational stance.
Reading all this speculation for the light is fun, I personally don't see us fighting the light until after this saga. It's almost a perfect setup, we deal with Arathi, we deal with Yrel and someone else who I'm not sure? They could easily make the next saga only 2 expansions but if we're talking about 3 of them like currently I do not know what the last expansion would be about. Maybe the other side of Azeroth?
I think we'll def ask the light for help somehow, or maybe Khadgar/Velen decide to ask Yrel for help (WoD literally ended with her telling Khadgar they'll always be here for us), unbeknownst to them she's gone full fanatic about the Light, although we know she's gone insane from Mag'har's recruitment scenario so who knows how Blizzard will approach it. I think she'll realize that we are infected with Void and only the Light can save us, and so the next Saga begins, I think it'd be cool, we'd have so many factions have internal conflicts (humans especially, Draenai, etc). I don't wanna go into fanfic but I can totally see it happen.
Ahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa, no.
You don't pitch a Void attack on Quel'Thalas and have none of the raids be void themed or in quel thalas.

Petty sure the true leak will also come from a freshly made burner account. Nobody would risk the main one if a blizz crackdown happens.

I bet we will see the actual leak a week or two before it, we will dismiss it on ground of something that sounds totally absurd and they will be vindicated by hindsight when the truth is revealed.
There is no way in which we deal with Light within the WSS. Maybe some skirmishes, but nothing major.
We dealt with Disorder in Legion.
We dealt with faction conflict and the Old Gods in BfA.
We dealt with Death in Shadowlands.
We will deal with Shadow in Midnight.
We will deal with Order in TLT.
Therefore, of the Cosmic Forces, only Light and Life will remain after the WSS, and clearly Light is the one that they are building for the most immediate future.
Of course, we have dealt with all these forces only temporalily. There has never been a faction or group totally erradicated in WoW. They always come back or evolve into some new threat.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.
i think it is more likely that someones fake leak is close enough to the real thing, that it seems in hindsight to be the truth. And the only thing that could make a leak real in hindsight if they use a very specific word that doesn't make sense outside of knowing the real game. Like the Drek'thar -> Dracthyr leak for DF.

Honestly after we deal with everything besides light and life I fully expect a revelation that these cosmic forces need to be in balance and with everything beaten we have too much Life and Light for the cosmos to properly function.

Not beyond the realm of possibility.
We deal with the big bad of Shadow, Void Lord Dimensius, in TWW. This is a huge curveball for Midnight. Everyone expected K'aresh and Dimensius to be the Argus of Midnight. That got turned on its head, and Midnight is set after we dealt with the so far known, biggest void threat. Sure, Xal'atath could be the new void lord threat for Midnight, but it could be very well a expansion that doesn't only end the Void but perhaps also the Light.

Well, it usually is absurd in the way it is stated and only starts making sense when we get the missing context. Which has a lot of time been because the leaker isn't familiar with the game and didn't understand what they were looking at. Like the Warfronts initially being described more like PvP zones.

Guys, we fought goblins this expac. The goblin raid.
What becomes tiresome on this type of speculation debate is the need of people to set story beats as check boxes.
Yet again, expect the unexpected. Also, look to the toybox Blizzard has and pick up the one that sets better the "rule of cool".
Not a chance.
Or rather, I hope there is no chance for that. Bad writing makes anything possible. But having a proper final confrontation with Xal'atath is good enough for Midnight.
IF she is killed in Midnight and not TLL.
Honestly it would be cool to fight her multiple times across Midnight as we grow stronger.
I personally don't buy it, the Light is as big as void, I think we'll get a new saga for Light.
Xal'atath will def be the big threat for Midnight and I'm willing to bet she corrupts the sunwell and we lose in Midnight, TLT is the Titans coming back to purge us and we conclude the storyline with Titans and Void (at least big cosmic scale storyline).
I could be wrong but Blizzard is setting up Xal'atath as a major villian and I don't see her dying in Midnight.
Do you have an example yourself or are you like every politician of an opposition party?

Real talk, if we permanently off her in TLL I will be kinda sad. She is a lot of fun. And finally a charismatic new villain.
But even if she dies in Midnight, she had a pretty good run. I mean who besides Garrosh and AU Gul'Dan can claim to be the antagonist of to expansions in a row, without it feeling too much?
The paradigm may have completely shifted by the end of The Last Titan. They may not have the room to tell their stories but we certainly will have bombastic events take place during the last two expansions or maybe we don't and nothing happens.
I think its super important to not get bogged down into checklists or assumptions that the Cosmic imbalance hasn't been resolved or at least changed with the outcomes of The Last Titan.
It'd be a shame if she just randomly dies at the Sunwell, I mean I would just find it extremely funny that they made a mystery character and then just evaporated her when they realize that they kind of have to do something with said mystery. So it'd be funny to see Blizzard just opt-out again like that.
