So team world revamp.
Is there any expansion that would get you as excited as a world revamp would?
Maybe Karesh for me.
any expansion that focused on Dwarves as the main Alliance race (like Legion was elves, or Draenei were for WoD)
The Mines of Moria expansion for Lotro is one of my favourite mmo expansions of all time, something like that in WoW would be the dream but it would never happen xD
Unless we go to the mysteriously mentioned Khaz Algar and its a whole underground dwarf zone, I'd love that
(I swear Im not biased)
Ive already written out seeing Khaz Algar this xpac cause I cant see Blizz doing two underground zones, I mean, never say never, but thats just my feeling.
Regardless, I do really hope we see it some day, a mysterious underground secret dwarven clan and civilization would be cool as heck to see. Plus it would just be really cool to see new dwarf art assets in the game, besides a couple explorer's league doodads and the Garrison bunkers, we havnt seen any new classic dwarf art assets (houses etc) that aren't Wildhammer, since......vanilla?
Still no clue where the new HD IF tabard and armour set is from yet, have yet to be spotted anywhere in game or on PTR

Karesh, but we're on the one half of the planet where the Etherals original race still exists but we have in the distance(Or the other half of the planet) full of Void(Purple/evil looking Blue etc etc). Sorta kinda like the 2d ish background you could see on Argus.

I'm certainly interested to see what K'aresh has to offer, at least assuming that Blizzard can withhold the incredible creativity that brought us the First Ones. We haven't really had a principally middle eastern aesthetic front-and-center in any expansion, and the ethereal race has scarcely been explored since its introduction.
My concept is something like Hyjal Barrows & Terramok Caverns joining beneath Kalimdor, Blackrock Mountain and Uldaman's depths joining beneath Khaz Modan, Azjol'Nerub, then Khaz Algar. I've added into the concept an underground underwater area that is effectively where the Maelstrom breaks the crust. Add the assumption that like Argus, Azeroth is hollow inside with the World Soul shining so there would also be an area on the inside of the planet with heavy Titan machinery overlooking the World Soul.
I firmly believe we are getting a world revamp. But if we aren't, and perhaps even if we are, we still have a pretty good idea of what comes next.
The most obvious is a showdown with Queen Azshara, perhaps involving Xal'atath and N'Zoth. Dragonflight and 11.0 are seemingly sequels to Cataclysm in a "Shadow (Void)" trilogy, and all the in-game hints right now seem to suggest this stuff is imminent. It's what Iridikron is working on, and he's basically the Gul'dan or Sylvanas of this trilogy - the one pushing events forward between parts 2 and 3.
Some type of swashbuckling adventure to the far side of the world also awaits us, following in the "footsteps" of the Nightsquall. This may or may not involve Avaloren as a continent, and may or may not feature themes like islands, underwater, ships, pirates, etc.
Other than that, there are a number of vague and abstract concepts from over the years that could be explored further in the future. Things like a full underground expansion, visiting (or re-visiting) some other planet, and of course some juicy drama and political intrigue in the Eastern Kingdoms. Some have suggested there might be more to the south of Pandaria.
It's worth noting that they said back in 2013 that they had content for the next 10 years roughly planned. The thing about 2024 isn't just that those 10 years have passed, but also that we seemingly, for the first time, have actually dealt with the majority of the old lore.
- We've fought and shattered the Burning Legion.
- We've dealt with Death.
- We've (soon, anyway) vanquished the Shadow (Void).
- We've been to all the major known landmasses and worlds.
I think they need a world revamp for lots of reasons. One of them being to take a step back and let new stories unfold dynamically over the next few years. They can seed a bunch of different narratives throughout Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, and then let them grow from there.
Honestly, I think the concept that they are hinting at is fine if N'zoth shows up and he actually is redeemed as the master manipulator that he was supposed to prior to his BFA appearance. Especially because at this point the main narrative is essentially just fan service for those among us who cared about the storyline during this down period so it would be weird to not go all the way with this absurdity.
I just really want to see the World Soul problem be dealt with this Narrative Team desperately need to excise the World Soul storyline from the game.
Again, World Revamp would be the best for everyone involved on multiple grounds but I am pretty happy with:
Azshara Expansion, South Seas Expansion, Avaloren Expansion, K'aresh Expansion/Offworld Expansion, Other Side of Azeroth Expansion, Gnome/Goblin Tech Underground Expansion.
I am definitely wary of the similarities between Legion and this upcoming concept. If they just mash Yrel, Azshara, Void. I just think the Narrative Team suck when there's too much going on and while they can always construct epic moments with this many possibilities I don't like the fact their toolbox is that large.
I am definitely also worried that there's a Reorigination Machine inside Emerald Dream that may lead to a new Azeroth, as well but yeah I don't think they will take that risk.

I no longer reply to quotations beyond if you're asking a genuine question or have a non-confrontational stance.
I think there should be a lot of lava near the core though and...hopefully Earthen are actually there.... and much more that I could go on but in concept, the closer you get to the world soul, the more Titan influence you see, and of course you got to have massive Old God tentacles in some zone somewhere.

South Seas expansion with underwater zones and player ships/housing.
The ship would function like the Vindicaar in terms of moving you around the zones, and you would explore all kinds of interesting areas.
Probably not going to happen though. Especially not the underwater zones part. I know players seemed to hate it, but Vashj'ir is still one of my all time favorite zones. Possibly even my most favorite one.
The world revamp dream will never die!
