Man, I guess because we know the name of the next xpact I haven't been all that interested in learning about any leaks.

Half of the fun things was seeing the fake logos and names - does anyone else feel the same?

Imagine the name "Midnight" leaking. So many of us would call fake on the basis of the name alone lol

I think whoever did it it is very clever to do it with that CN PTR Mount thats a recolor of the Mythic Jailer mount giving some sort of eyebrow raise towards it.

Obviously, it isn't real though and its probably that we just get a Windrunner Sister reunion cinematic that everyone just wants to go watch the Dev panel after afterwards to get the aftertaste out.

The preorder editions stuff probably will end up being the only thing that leaked.

Between the press kits, merchandising, translators, 3rd party vendors at the actual Gamescon stage its very unlikely nothing gets leaked before the announcement. Its just is it going to pop up a week before or 15 min before?

The last expansion reveal at Gamescom was Legion right? We got a leak the day of if I remember rightly but that wasn’t due to it being set at Gamescom, it was the user (Jericho?) having a friend who worked at Blizzard.

Who knows. We may not get a true leak this time.

An easy nostalgia bait could be a cinematic where Xal'atath monolgues inflating our egos, reminding us of the final bosses of each expansions with shots of each of their demises (Arthas lying in icecrown, deathwing's hanging chin, fried Garrosh in the rock hand, etc.), With Zovaal just showing for a moment. Kinda like the in-game cinematic they did when they announced MoP.
Feels like it'd be a lot of work on the artist's end, though.

Agreed. That is far more likely than the Jailer being a player in Midnight.

Your point finalised with Xal’atath stating “but you have not faced the full wrath of the Void” or something along those lines with a shot of the Void invading Quel’thalas is certainly plausible.

After all these years, I'll never really call a name fake. There's been so many instances of "___ doesn't work, doesn't fit" ending out to be true (Cataclysm, MoP, etc) that I don't feel comfortable ever really saying a title is fake (aside from the obviously troll-y ones anyway).

Purdy sure there are like 4 wore related panels across gamescom. I'm sure one of them is a QnA.

I think the whole event will be really interesting. I think they're going for a big outreach with the community too. There's quite a few in the Twitch/Youtube space that seem to have been invited out by Blizzard. It feels like they're (obviously) really trying to hype this one up as the biggest expansion yet.

If Northeron is in, it's very likely going to be either a glacier island to the side of Zul'aman or part of Zul'aman itself.

Again I really doubt it because the only thing we know about it is "Dwarf" which we just did, AND we are going to have plenty of ice in Northrend unless it all melted.

Honestly, I'd distrust any leak that doesn't also leak the D4 2nd expansion title. If you got that blizz insider info for gamescom, you'd also know what that expac will be called. They are 100% revealing that one too

I didn't realize gamescom is a 5 day event. We probably get the midnight cinematic only in 8 days. I guess the other panels we will have to wait longer for

I'm still feeling Northeron as a subzone (or Alliance camp?) within whatever the Zul'Aman zone will be. North of Hinterlands, south of Zul'Aman.

I know we just did Dwarrf, buuuut I think a big purpose of this Saga is to maximize the assets they make. Reusing/reskinning some of the updated Earthen kit to be a Wildhammer kit would bring extra flavor to Quel'thalas, build more on a fan favorite clan, potentially reintroduce separate Horde/Alliance areas & questing, and dive further into an original group from the early days of the game instead of OC tribe/clan #4000.

It's fully going to be open to criticism for potential fatigue, but I'd much rather get a little tired of them fleshing out the game than an introduction of a new group that feels uncanny to the fabric of the story.

For what it's worth, though, I don't think that the Wildhammer clan playing 4th fiddle to other groups in Midnight would give an fatigue.

Also no way we’re already on dwarf fatigue.
We had orcs shoved down our throats for like 3 expansions in a row with one expansion being full on orc lore and Main characters.
I’m sure us having some more dwarfs isn’t a bad thing. Plus with magni getting his color back I can see him an Dwargon going on an adventure to Northeron to re connect a see the similarities between them a the earthen.
