With Xal returning that means the cult comes back which we already kinda see in 10.0
This along with the fact there's problems in northrend could lead to him returning and we get a visage

It is also fitting because he's the last challenge by the original aspects and the three that fought him could defeat him but not kill him

Something that makes me doubt there's going to be a revamp is the new view distance. If you fly for example above Goldshire you can see Blackrock Mountain and it's entrance clear as day, it shows you how close it is. You can see Zul'Gurub, the tree in Duskwood is pretty much next to Elwynn and I could even spot the Stranglethorn Arena. It kinda breaks immersion seeing everything so close. So I don't know what they'll do with that if they revamp the zones and decide to bring the players there for current content.

I've pointed this out before when advocating that the only feasible revamp option is one that significantly increases the world scale. Vanilla zones are unbelievably tiny, they were designed for 2004 viewing distance and with travel distances under the assumption that you'd be running around on foot for weeks or even months when playing through the game, and then past 40 at 60% speed until max level and gold acquisition. They're also designed, even post-cata with the assumption that you will be on the ground. Getting above tree level or moving fast completely shatters their immersion and really reveals how many of them are just a bunch of quite small, self-contained box areas. Simply updating graphics doesn't fix this problem.

The approach to environmental design then and now is completely different and the assumptions the old zones are designed for are completely different. It's why WoD didn't just reskin Outland's basic geometry, it completely redesigned the zone terrain.

There's never going to be a cata level revamp again, there's just too much work in that when leveling has been completely redone

A cata revamp isn't even remotely enough. Cata EK and Kalimdor are (non-hyperbolic) 95% identical to the Vanilla zones. They use some better textures, they half-fix some of the wonky unfinished terrain on borders or behind mountains, and then they layered on some destruction or changes in specific zones, the volcano in Ashenvale, the water in 1k Needles, the green in Desolace and Barrens, the destroyed land in Darkshore and westfall, new buildings in Tirisfal and Silverpine, etc.

A cata revamp is nothing. It needs to be WoD level.

So, let's pretend for a second that 11.0 is 100% a Void expansion. What would be the coolest way to implement this theme in terms of our leveling/zones/continent to play?

Depends on whether a Void-centric expansion would be centered on the Void as seen in Eredath or the Old Gods. If the former, K'aresh or a convergence of remnants of worlds (such as in Into the Void) devoured by the Void. If the latter, Azjol-Nerub.

At the very least, the most straightforward seems to be whatever continent hosts Avaloren, Khaz Algar, and potentially Uldaz. It's being hammered over us like how the Death theme was in BfA. I figure the former may be an island near the latter or vice-versa, since we know that the latter two are obviously within the Titans' range of influence while the former was seemingly inaccessible for a long time and may sill be so.

If Xal is "the Harbinger" Iridikron is going to be very disappointed as its been established after being imprisoned & loaded into a mortal body, she's only about 1% as powerful as she was when the other Old Gods decided to imprison her.

Only thing we know about current expansion is that iridikron won't be the end boss if 10.2 is the finale

The above Titan thing was only ever stated in regards to the Jailer, and even then, that whole ordeal was debated on cause of 2 different sources which had the Ion interview stating different things. And every other thing has stated that they are a Pantheon and that they are the Death equivalent to the Titans. Ely Cannons old ass interview implied they weren't Titan lvl but were instead Keeper lvl, but he's an art director, the interview was in July (Or June?) 2020, and I cannot access the interview anymore. It doesn't count anymore.

Also, they're not Titans in race. They are Eternal Ones. Similar to how the Void Lords are...well...Void Lords, and how Elune is of her own race and Pantheon.

All of this is consistent. The only power that is directly above the Titans and the other Cosmic Pantheons are the First Ones.

I think danuser stated they were titan plus in terms of power and in a later interview when asked about if they were a pantheon we were told "no that was just a way to explain to players how it worked" and now we get confirmation in game and out that they are a pantheon

Few routes they can go
1. Remake some zones for leveling and later patches i.e. darkshore in 8.1
2. New zones with remake zones as patch
3. All new zones
Only thing for certain is it will be based in Azeroth
