I always took that to mean something else goes wrong after we banished it.

It could go either way, I think.

The Void scores a victory, the Light betrays us, or we just win only to learn that the Titans are coming and will kill or enslave all of us to get their plans back on track. Given that the story seems to be pointing towards the Titans being villains, I'd expect that this would be the point where we transition to them as the next threat.

Hey I've seen some voicelines from Alleria and Venari that are not in these cinematics. Not much more in terms of leaking but mostly talking about LW and us as the Maw Walker defeating Dimensius .

Would those be the ingame somewhere?

I wish they put a bit more effort the ritual related visuals.

Those sand piles and wet splodges from 2004 really stick out like a sore thumb.
Those flat looking arcane ribbons too.

It should've been a pre-rendered cinematic too be honest, considering this is literally a Worldsoul getting revitalized.

Personally I am not ready for zoovoid, but real talk regardless if it's fake or not we def will be visiting the Maw somehow or SL will be involved somehow due to Venari literally saying "I know what the void fears in the Maw". What better way for Xal to deal with whatever the void fears.

I haven't played the raid or played the rest of the campiagn because on EU, but hopefully it's explained in there?

If not, my only guess is maybe that's what Ve'nari and Cartel Ve were doing in the Maw, searching for the soul of K'aresh? That might just be me trying to rationalise though?

The Maw mention is just player-recognition. The soul of K'aresh also features in the Dimensius fight, if I'm not mistaken. It's but an echo of what it once was.

Pretty sure what the void fear is Sylvanas, who is still missioning around in the Maw right now. There was the short story with the void going crazy in Alleria's head when she was in the presence of Sylvanas too. Kinda makes sense for her to return in Midnight, seeing as void and undeath don't really get along very well.

Unless Blizz decides to retcon some stuff, what they feared in the Maw was just the Nippler, bc his super 4D chess plan was to take over all the cosmic forces (and he got very close to doing so).

Yeah, the Void fears the Maw just like everyone else: Death and eternal torment in that realms means the end to their way of living; The end of things to consume. It's not that complicated.
