Aszuna questing in Legion. The Prince Farondis/Eye of Azshara/Tidestone storyline to be exact.
Also, I can’t imagine the most powerful arcanist in Azeroth’s history, as well as the most vain in terms of appearance, is going to opt to choose her monstrous Naga form over something more fitting and desirable when leading her planned Kingdom/empire.

Nevermind. It's no doubt that it's Xal'atath lol. Doesn't matter anyway in which direction she's looking at.
Ahh thank you. I had actually brought that up some weeks back but several people responded to me that she never shows as an elf in that, so I thought myself mistaken. But googling now does show me she shows as an elf, at least temporarily.
Still, I'm leaning toward Xal'atath.
Greatly appreciated too. See my portion above too as to why I thought otherwise.
I was right! She did transform there!
I’m leaning towards Xal’atath too. I’d like to think Azshara is being primed to be her own entity. The last thing I want is Azshara to go from one bargain with an Old God into another.
I’d love for her to be a reluctant ally for an expansion and be said expansions Khadgar/Magni/Bolvar before she inevitably betrays us to be a future expansions main villain. Possibly siphoning Azeroth’s essence and effectively trying to replace her.

Yes. Last we saw her she gave us xal'atath to defeat N'zoth after we killed her tormentor in nyal'otha. Then she peaces out basically telling us she is tired of dealing with nobodys and she will claim real power. The umbral veil part is from a naga book in the forbidden reach.
This was back in bfa, so not really new information though.
Specifically her Nelven form. And that silhouette is most definitely not Nelven but we'll see soon enough.

Dug up these old quotes by Xal'atath, during Legion.
"It is ironic that the weakest of us may be the ultimate victor. C'Thun, Yogg-Saron, Y'Shaarj, and... well. Only one would remain to consume the world, that was always meant to be."
"At times it seems the naga beg from scraps from the Legion's table. But the queen they serve want far more than that."
"It was here in ages past that the God of the Deep lost a great battle to the God of Seven Heads. But as was so often the case even defeat ultimately worked in N'zoth's favor."
"A powerful dragon could be a powerful tool. Alas, gone are the days of Galakrond."
"It took ages to make my return to the surface after the Sundering. The naga can be so possessive of artifacts."
"This trifling skirmish is little more than a distraction. The true battle draws neigh as the circle nears completion."
"We may face some of my brethren in this conflict... a prospect that delights me. Their power will be mine! They will pay for what was done to me long ago."
"The Light would have your kind remain obedient and stagnant. I offer the gifts of freedom and strength. I hope you remember my kindness."
"I long for the day our masters can truly pass into this realm. You have only seen fragments, shadows; the faintest of echoes. Ask the Ethereals what one of these manifestations are capable of."
"For this idiotic pustule of N'Zoth to have lived so long... it does little to refute my opinion of this world's new owners."
While some of this might have been revised internally after Legion, it still sounds to me that:
- Xal'atath is an Old God, and the others did something to her long ago which probably got her essence locked up inside that blade.
- At the time of Legion, N'Zoth was still ahead of us, and she considered it possible that he might be the one to "consume" Azeroth. But she doesn't seem to like the other Old Gods.
- She's been with the Naga for a while, making it likely she's been scheming with Azshara to dethrone N'Zoth for a long time.
- The original prophecy for the Old Gods was that one of them would remain to consume Azeroth. And likely the others first?
- She wanted to take the powers of the other Old Gods, and she already had the idea that a dragon like Galakrond might be useful.
- She seems like she still wants the (presumably) Void Lords to pass into reality on Azeroth.
So could we perhaps read from this that she wanted to topple N'Zoth along with Azshara, consume the other Old Gods' essences, before finally ensuring that the Void Lords can enter our world?
I'm betting the void artifact thingie given to her by Iridikron contains other Old God essences, and perhaps need to be filled with Azeroth's essence (or used against it) before the Void Lords can be summoned. Perhaps 11.0 will be a kind of race against the clock as they seek to awaken Azeroth and mess her up.

You can even see the outline of her hairstyle if you look closely. It is quite obviously Xal.

If you go back to play the quest, you know that it is an image from the past as you are playing Prince Farondis who is seeing past images in present time.
I will not reply to posts that are non-constructive or contain flaming and/or trolling.
You guys also have to realize that they make these cutscenes for people that aren't THAT into the game, so they can digest chunks of lore and keep up without playing. If it was meant to be Azshara they would likely use her Naga/octopus silhouette so people immediately know who she is.
All I ever wanted was the truth. Remember those words as you read the ones that follow. I never set out to topple my father's kingdom of lies from a sense of misplaced pride. I never wanted to bleed the species to its marrow, reaving half the galaxy clean of human life in this bitter crusade. I never desired any of this, though I know the reasons for which it must be done. But all I ever wanted was the truth.
The content creators are taking notes from our thread and are coming aboard the Void train.

I mean fundamentally this entire Megadungeon cinematic basically erases the Revamp angle.
Obviously Blizzard can still do the dumb thing of starting a soft Revamp to appease their fans in the next expansion.
But, again there is very little chance that the next expansion isn't about the Harbinger/Azshara storyline and probably mixed in with a ton more because lmao we need marketing hype.
I am honestly more surprised all the content creators are now back on the "10.3 exists" frame of mind since at the start of the expansion everyone was keenly in the "10.2 is the end" ballpark.
I no longer reply to quotations beyond if you're asking a genuine question or have a non-confrontational stance.
Why? The last revamp's endgame was fighting a giant dragon in elemental planes.
You can still go from fighting Gnolls and Scarlets to Iridikron/Xal/Azshara in one expansion. I think its VERY notable that Magatha hasn't appeared yet, despite being in the files, and she would be a perfect "revamp villain" on team Void.
