It isn't the first time that they allowed players to actually sail on a boat, they did it back in Cata when Thousand Needle was flooded over. So in order to get around the water, they gave players a literal boat to travel around the zone.

Listen if FF14 convinces WoW to finally make good on the idea of Player Boats then it's the best thing to come out of either game ever.

But I doubt it ever happens just because, like a world revamp, Blizzard doesn't like fun. Next expansion will probably just be "Oh we need to save the Emerald Dream from Void Corruption" or the ever-possible "Y'rel does Light Fascism WoD 2."

The only objection could be that Queen Alexstrasza is a queen herself. A vassal typically has obligations towards a monarch. She also symbolises Life.

So in that sense, it makes sense if the vassal is her vassal, somebody in her service perhaps. Another red dragon? Maybe Vyranoth was once sort of like a vassal before the War of the Scaleborn?

Anyway, it's also possible that Alexstrasza herself is the vassal. It just depends on whether Blizzard has a more metaphorical or literal interpretation of the word.

A vassal is typically a monarch themself. There is no reason a queen couldn't be a literal vassal - although I don't think this is really about literal feudal contracts. The Titans are her suzerain who granted her the powers over life in return for her allegiance. If that doesn't work as a vassalage analogy, I don't know.

It isn't Chromie, what Chromie did she only did it to prevent Murozond from happening. It's a burden she has to live with... (But that's something for another day)

But if we are talking about Dreadlords disguising as the vassal of life. I want to pull this up.

We don't know who the target is, but all we know is that whoever this dreadlord is a female Dreadlord and she might be hiding out in the Emerald Dream. A lot of people at the time thought it was someone in Ardenweald trying to get closer to the Winter Queen, but it was either never explored (cut content) or they were saving it for when we go into the Emerald Dream.

Everything points to Malfurion. Her close connection with the cycle of life allowed her to replace Ysera in Ardenweald, which is not nothing. The vassal of life is he. In any case, this is what seems most likely to me at the moment.

Honestly, if Malfurion turns evil and becomes a raid boss. I have no issues or qualms of killing him off.

Was he really? He came off kinda dickish in W3, mainly due to his treatment of Illidan, and some of that carried over to WoW. Don't remember anything else. For most of the times he was your standard "wise NPC" who would guide you around and point out objectives. Staghelm took over as an evil druid dude in the story.

Not sure how Malf would suddenly become active and evil. He is currently sleeping in Ardenweald in place of Ysera.
