I very much expect Elune to appear.
Not in person, but definitely pulling the moon over the tree to defend it in the big showdown.

I hope there isn't a Pantheon of Life. I want it to be just Elune.
But I already know I'm not going to get what I want sadly.

The first implementation of World Quests. Whilst old hat now, when they were first introduced everyone loved them and did them all the time because they were new and shiny. Plus the rewards such as early gearing, or gearing alts, AP, rep and later paragon boxes.
The World PvP Warden Towers. These were constantly having battles, large or small. Some of my very best memories from Legion were the skirmishes at the towers.
Secrets making their way into the game for the first time. Inspiring a community to form plus a crazy following when they were discovered. Lucid Nightmare, Fathom Dweller and Long Lost Forgotten Hippogriff to name a few.
Legion invasions.
The Sentinax & Nethershard farming.
The majority of the hidden artifact appearances were tied to world content.
Broken Shore.
Dalaran Underbelly.
The fishing artifact.
The Falcosaur pet/mount grinds.
Class Halls to a lesser extent.
SURAMAR in general?
I think it’s a little disingenuous to say Legion didn’t have much going on world content wise prior to 7.3. There was plenty to do in the game in every avenue.
So I'm stuck on the discord post
Not the generic stuff but the story stuff left for DF
Calia's family being alive is obvious because blizz can't do subtle
Fyrakk being a final boss is another obvious thing because he's been the main incarnate we have dealt with and seen storywise
No 10.3 is another obvious thing because blizz always ALWAYS has a content drought and if 10.2 hits in November then we'd be ending the season around June and DF having so many catch up systems means plenty of content to catch up on and a mini patch with a fated season means easier way to hold players
Would be a waste of the scarlet crusade to make them a footnote in a heritage quest but I can't say I have any faith in the writers anyways
a .3 and a content drought aren't really related. Furthmore, ending with Fyrakk and Vyranoth as end bosses isn't as great of a DF ending. No 10.3 is another obvious thing because blizz always ALWAYS has a content drought and if 10.2 hits in November then we'd be ending the season around June and DF having so many catch up systems means plenty of content to catch up on and a mini patch with a fated season means easier way to hold players

Fyrakk isn't the final boss, he doesn't even feel like one. I don't understand the logic of having Iridikron saved for the next expansion. At least with Deathwing, he's got an insane amount of lore behind him despite how one-note he becomes in Cata. Fyrakk doesn't have anything other than he bathed in Shadowflame and is going on a rampage.
And I don't know what else the Forsaken Heritage armor quest would have that isn't focused on the Scarlet Crusade. They've been a constant antagonist to the Forsaken since Vanilla, no other group comes close aside from the Worgen... unless the whole thing is going to be focused on Sylvanas (which it totally will because Danuser can't last one expansion without highlighting how great Sylvanas is.)

Garrosh's story spanned across multiple expansions until he became the antagonist, Gul'dan didn't die in WoD, he was shifted to the main universe at the end of WoD and started the Legion invasion of Azeroth... and then he died on top of the main palace in Suramar, and the Jailer's "lore" was basically "I'm responsible for everything and I deserve all the credit" when we didn't know his existence until we went to the Shadowlands.
Fyrakk being the final boss just doesn't feel right. Especially since he only had the spotlight on him in 10.1, I can only see him being the boss of whatever raid comes in 10.2 and that's it. Chromatus would make the most sense, but he was suppose to take Ultraxion's place in the Dragon Soul raid (Blizz couldn't get him in because having a being with five heads sewn to a single body wasn't in their tech at the time.) So I'm not even sure if this new team is even aware of Chromatus's existence.

Amirdrassil in general doesn't feel like a good final raid. It's more about the Night Elves than it is the Dragon Isles as a whole.
I'm getting more confident we'll see 10.1.7 on 8/29 and then season 3 7 weeks later. Here's hoping we see an "In development" event scheduled in on 8/14.
I've had some pretty strong arguments that if we have just 10.2 and that's a wrap on DF, it'd be the shortest expansion and lowest amount of content since WoD. That is a comparison no one should ever want to see. There'd be no garrisons, covid, or world revamp(cata) to handwave away the lack of a 4th raid.
The final boss hasn't felt right for the last 3 expansions
Also I think I imagined a 9.3 existing
But back to chromatus he should be the final boss and with the weird stuff going on in northrend where he's supposed to be sealed...I want him breaking out especially since we know the twilight cult exists

We didn't get a 9.3
This expansion can't be compared to WoD in terms of content simply due to the fact there's more max level outdoor content in the 10.5 zone than all of WoD
We may not have 16 shades of boar but we do have more mounts in 10.1 than all of WoD

Also 10.1.7 hits before secrets of Azeroth so final Tuesday of August then at least 7 weeks maybe more you get late October
Figure 2 week gap for raid because "story" aka blizzcon
New season in November
7 months lands us in June for end of season so we have two possibilities
1. 10.3 in June with holiday release of 11.0
2. Fated season with epilogue content until prepatch and release on the 20th anniversary
What i want is a decently satisfactory conclusion to the fucking story that Blizzard is dragging behind them for the past 2 and a half expansions.
The tree is a gift from their goddess, her sister, and the thousands of Nelven souls that sacrificed themselves to allow the Nelves to renew their society.
The Nelves abandoning it at the last minute, simply going "No thanks, fuck every friend, relative and every bit of effort that made that tree possible" is like the most idiotic fucking thing that Blizzard could possibly pull.
It would make the entire story completely pointless.
Why would they even include it even if that was the conclusion?
If the Nelf Heritage Quest is on the Dragon Isle instead of Kalimdor/Ashenvale/Hyjal I will be disappointed.

Id argue every playable race model update had this problem. Many faces and eyes ended up looking differnt.
The nightborne were introduced with this, in fact every single nightborne had these squinty eyes. likely to seperate them more from the night elves. Like I said, we need these small things in costumization with how sparse it is. The outcry when the became playable was mainly cus of their eyes and how similar they looked to night elves. The npc looked vasty differnt.
Not against it, but I rather see them giving night elves and others few extra faces that mirror their classic look in their eye shape then give them the same option as nightborne. They always made it seem like a nightborne feature, especially their response on the costumization feedback thread back before they got updated.

Tyrande can still be in Kalimdor or wherever the Night Elves go.

I cannot in good conscience make myself believe the Blizzard doesn't hate the Night Elves. They've had years to make this story up, why is it so hard for them to satisfy the Night Elf fans?
Imagine if they used the 3 year time skip to plant the tree and have another capital city ready and waiting by the time of Dragonflight. You know, just the same way it took 4 years to have a massive tree the size of an island with a city built on top of it. But nah, that's too much to ask.
We're never getting a capital city. The Forsaken got theirs, Gilneans gonna get theirs, there's even Stormgarde, a random city that isn't even used by anyone. Meanwhile the horde is still pissing all over northern Kalimdor for who knows what reason, which means this new Horde Council is either evil or useless.
