So, here are the FACTS:

https://worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com...w-july-10-2023 The week of July 10, 2023, we got an update saying that on July 13th, we would get an "(Article) In Development" which turned out to be the announcement of Patch 10.1.7 "Fury Incarnate" a few days AFTER 10.1.5 launched (same week).

As for 10.1, yes, it was RANDOMLY dropped on us on March 8, 2023, mainly through content creator videos/interviews with devs. However, they also posted a "Blue Post", too. However, again, it was NOT mentioned AT ALL, and was "random". Additionally, some content creators HYPED up the "week of March 7th" a bunch on Social media, so many could "assume" it "may be" patch 10.1 news.

If blizzardo is indeed attending Gamescom, it would make more sense for them to announce 10.2 there instead of random blog post this week. Unless they have more stuff to show.

They could also show and tease 10.3. claim that the dev team is so large they are doing 4 tiers plus 11.0 still launching in 24. That could be a pretty big hype moment.

Well, there's two things:

1). You are 100% correct (hence, why I think they misspoke). A Developer Update on Hardcore Classic, through the WoWCast is most likely due to the fact that this was posted on twitter last week https://twitter.com/Warcraft/status/...496456199?s=20 and nothing from the "This Week in WoW" talks about it.

2). Not getting TOO Hype in case it is/isn't 10.2 news. Better to not rush headfirst.

Ehhh not really. The WoWcast is a dev update regarding what's coming to classic WoW Hardcore, etc.

We already know everything coming to classic HC. Giving an update would be to expand someone's knowledge horizontally, not vertically. They're just going to repeat everything we already know about classic hc but vocal instead of in the 50 blog posts that were made.

I mean does it matter much? No. If 10.2 is not announced this week, then it will be next week.

Update implies a thing focused around new information, not just talking (hence "chat") about something already basically familiar to the playerbase.

If the next expansion is void + backside of Azeroth, I think they could pull off Shadows of Azeroth. It refers to the void and at the backside/hiddencontinent in the same title.

I think it's very, very unlikely that there will ever be another expansion with "Azeroth" in the game. The same way you'll never get another expansion named "<...> Crusade" and no sequel taking place on WoD Draenor would get called <...> Draenor". It just serves to create the potential for confusion.

I want to agree but it’s close enough that it *could* just be a mistype. And if the update is not the wowcast, then the wowcast should have been included in the schedule separately.
