Things in wow very frequently change form multiple times.
What additional evidence do you need? Little baby dragons and pseudo-dragons can casually visage form. Every druid in existence can casually change into animals, shamans can as well. Being infused with nearly any form of magic in the setting's universe can physically change your form, as can things like potions. Primalists hang out in Valdrakken by turning into dragonkin. Mages can casually take other people's appearance, something also possible with all sorts of enchanted items.

We're not talking about "naga". We're talking about Azshara specifically. Azshara who is one of the oldest and most powerful spellcasters in existence, further empowered by N'zoth and almost certainly even more empowered now by the Void. Azshara who has already shown she can flat out change appearance, casually, just to remind someone who she is.

Why would you possibly assume that she must be stuck in a single appearance, especially when we have no clue what sort of void infusion or empowerment she's been going through since we last saw her? Her default form at this point could be a void revenant/wrath/god for all we know?

    This is such silly logic.

Just thought of something: bit of a stretch but it could be considering Xal and the elf shes possessing collectively? They filled the elf craterous heart with Xal (Xal possessed her). Elf died (constituting one of the deaths, with the first death being Xal being attacked by the old gods. Leaving the 3rd death as one upcoming?).
I think nothing of value can come from dwelling on Il'gynoth's one-liners. A good chunk of Il'gynoth's whispers were fulfilled in BfA, and I think theorizing about them too much won't bear much fruit with the exception of a couple of retroactively-attached lines of dialogue or something else of the sort. Keep in mind how the Circle of Stars turned out to just be a literal reference to the name of N'Zoth's prison (assuming that was even decided on by that point and wasn't just used to close off speculation). Those few whispers which weren't fulfilled pretty explicitly in BfA—and even some of those that were—could also be taken as originally written as Barnum statements that could retroactively be applied to any events that transpire afterwards.

Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

    I dunno.
If they intended a Gamescom reveal, i feel like they would've announced and advertised that already.

    This.
Wednesday surprise or 5 sept. Although I still think its weird to announce 10.2 on 10.1.7 launch day.

No chance of that happening. 10.2 is going to be announced before 10.1.7 is live. Hopefully this week. I mean, we know that Blizzard is going to be at Gamescom, they have a hall with merchandising and Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 stuff. Games that do not have anything to announce right now.

I think that tomorrow or wednesday they will show 10.1.7' Fyrakk's cinematic, a trailer of 10.2, and maybe something else about Classic. Then all the famous streamers will upload 10.2 related videos in their respective channels.

Why Blizzard would wait to show 10.2 after Gamescom? They can reach way more people there.

For each day that passes without a 10.2 announcement there's a lower chance of there being a 10.3

I hope if they do show anything it isn't like that Uther animatic they showed off. I tend to hate using the term "cringey" but that felt very much so to me.

Full on expansion cinematic, sure. But that...I remember watching a few streams and people going "I don't know what this is about and I do not care". It fell flat.

I'd recommend not expecting anything. That way if you're surprised, its a good one, instead of disappointment.

It wasn't cringe (srsly, what was cringe there?), it was just waaaay to long and convoluted for non-WoW players for the main stage.

It just made me feel cringey as a Warcraft fan hearing all these people groan or otherwise express bafflement at something for way too long a time. Let's face it, Warcraft's writing isn't exactly good in the best of the times, so seeing some melodramatics with Bluether just...didn't work.

Maybe if it was 30 seconds to a minute, that'd work better I suppose. I just felt bad for Warcraft as a whole seeing it and getting such a tepid response from all the people watching.

    You mean... Afterlives?

Those shorts exist to further market the expansion, just like all other animated shorts before them (and the DF ones), why would they suddenly whip one of those out of nowhere?
    And only for a patch?

    Crazy idea.

What if, in the case that they are tomorrow at
Gamescom, they announce both 10.2 and 10.3? (if 10.3 is a thing). Or at least show a heavy tease about what 10.3 is going to be about, like they did with Legion.

In such a way, the announcement of 10.3 would not be that much of an issue.

What better stage than Gamescom to hype players around the world? Show them that WoW is getting more content than ever, just to keep their interest aaaaall the way until Blizzcon for 11.0.

The highborne were mutated very drastically, including Azshara yes. This was a huge trade off. That she can magically fool some one (happened once) in the past. More like an illusion at best is known, outside that none. This doesnt seem like a visage like the dracthyr, Idk were you got this from, we would have probably seen more of that if that was the case. I mean really we have no further proof of this, as far as we know she is a naga now and outside of that little cameo this is what she is. I cant even call it a form really. Its literally a mutation. Her warbringer gives a good idea what that means. She will trick people, but i dont believe she can undo her mutation with magic.

There is a lot of assumption to your logic, thats what I found silly. Basically we know next to nothing, so its better to assume it was just an illusion/spell and nothing more.

I will wait till she does something like that again in the future and spefically in what context. Because this has hardly any ground.

I mean they've put together cinematics for all sorts of things in BfA, remember?

And I'm figuring it'd be for an expansion.
