NO! Don't think it, don't say it!
@GeometryWizard I mean, people massively criticized books for existing to not have the story in-game. I'd say the bigger issue is the in-game storytelling remains shallow.

So much crystallization, how quaint. Probably nothing though.

Everyone waiting for the beta, I am waiting for a hotfix for Remix so they can finally fix Bringing Order to the Isles
IMO them releasing less books isn't a case of them moving that storytelling in-game out of genuine response to that criticism. I think it's more showing how their entire means of storytelling and worldbuilding have become so paralyzed they're struggling to even tell a semi-complete story at all. Now we get half-finished stories in-game and there's no book to read for gaps either which results in half of current story discussion being people having to make up entire elements in their head for it to make sense

Pretty funny that the Dreamrift achievement is called "Rift of Aln". Why not just call it that? It's clearly that and would hype up the lore nerds.

The point about democratization is generally off-base, but it's especially off-base when it comes to multimedia. WoW is much tighter and leaves much less room for separate voices to try separate things than it did before and that's a bad thing. BFA is plotwise a complete carfire, but it is thematically coherent, laser-focused even. By contrast, taking Cataclysm as an example, the genius conqueror Garrosh of Wolfheart wasn't the hotheaded but well-meaning dumbass of Twilight Highlands, who wasn't the honorable young Warchief of Stonetalon or Silverpine, who wasn't the guy who'd kill you for using fel in Ashenvale who wasn't the conflicted guy getting in touch with his race's needs in Heart of War who wasn't the malicious strawman of the Baine short story. And so on.
Dickmann's Law: As a discussion on the Lore forums becomes longer, the probability of the topic derailing to become about Sylvanas approaches 1.
Tinkers will be the next Class confirmed.

It doesn't sound like Blood Ties for example should have been in the game. Feels very "should have been an email."
But something like, say, The Shattering should have been depicted in a very detailed manner in-game.
I've said before that the current problems are just like Cata and that expansion's questing has aged very poorly and isn't held in high regard. We know from the behind the scenes of WoW's development that quest designers have always had a lot of autonomy in what they do but now there's nobody else writing for this setting but them and they've rejected the notion of having more stringent leadership and direction. With there being virtually no more stories to adapt they're now the sole writers of the plot and it means this kind of vibes writing process is coming to a painful head especially when the main story and characters are so much more in focus compared to something like Cata

Yay, maps

Its' really funny because I'd say something like "Xal'atath just needs to do something" but then I forgot that she may still need to get Fel (Disorder) from Sargeras's Sword and the Sword is 13.0 content according to Chris Metzen and so I genuinely don't know if they are going to have another inconsequential expansion A plot outcome in a expansion that was supposed to be "doom & gloom" expansion where we're on the complete backfoot. But, alas its' the usual with this franchise at this point.
Either way, I like trolls and Zul'aman raid assets in armor and weaponry are pretty high on my favorite list and I can't wait to see them in HD so its' not all bad.
