I mean, they could have easily used one of the two blue phoenix mounts instead if they really wanted to avoid the Veilwing.

Like, they respond to dumb feedback but not even in the right way, as NO one wanted the 5 pixel classic hippogryph there.

Consistency isn't dumb feedback. Ideally they should've updated the look of that hippogryph and gave it away as a mount too.

I mean, they could have easily added a side quest explaining the Veilwings there. Would have been more interesting than an ugly classic mount.

And ye, I'm all for updating old stuff but it seems like they stopped that and just release new mounts going forward. I think BfA was the last time they replaced a mount with an HD texture?

Whatever Silverglade Refuge/the High Elves there is/are, it's not important enough for them to create a new mount or update an older one. They wanted to take the "Dalaran Drake" route, but the community complained so basically the only option is some old mount, therefore the Hippogryph. Seems logical to me.

Just because they can do something doesn't mean they shouldn't. What do Veilwings have to do with High Elves?

I mean the bigger issue is that the Silver Covenant is barely a part of an expansion about saving Silvermoon and "reuniting elf tribes" which I guess was just Belf and Velf all along? Bizarre choice, especially considering Vereesa, unless it's all patchbait.

Good. We need more cool mounts from questlines, they are super underused for that. Better than locking them behind things 0,01 % of people will achieve or rare mob grind number 434646. Or the fucking trading post with limited tendies ...

What mounts are for 0.01%? Name them. Because even Gladiator mounts aren't that rare.

One is a promotion mount and phoenixes aren't just some common mount used by everyone. Both seem way over the top.

They aren't gonna make a quest to explain that High Elves took something out of the Shadowlands that's native there, that's a story beat that is better not touched with a ten foot pole considering the implications.

The best choce for an HD mount would be a blue dragonhawk

They even described Nathanos' home as being in the forests of Quel'thalas, but that's nestled in the area that became the plaguelands, complete with other Farstrider Lodges. I'm sure at some point the elves thought of the Hinterlands as Quel'thalas.

The Elves also placed a runestone on Caer Darrow, which was way out to the west - though that may have been before the founding of Quel‘Thalas entirely.

A Feat of Strength most likely related to the mysterious Hooded Figure from MoP Remix, and now Legion Remix, a named NPC in 12.0. Looks like Ratt's Revenge got a good reception and they're adding a lot more secret finding stuff. Very excited!
