Because the voice lines are fine and it would be unethical?

They could bring the voice actor back and record the lines again .... but I kinda doubt that will happen tbh. Someone must have given the OK on these in the first place, I doubt they literally only had one take of every line lol.

Unethical? The VA doesn't earn the explicit rights to have their voice game just because they recorded the line. Blizzard can change VAs whenever they please; it's their product, and that is a completely normal practice in any industry. Misplacing ethics into quality assurance and consumer feedback is exactly how we get into situations where a product is crafted to please everybody but pleases nobody.

It may also be a bug/oversight, because those are guards- just not Silvermoon guards, so they didn't get the Silvermoon Guard voicelines. Even if it is irksome to some people the softer voicelines can and should exist, just not for those NPCs, or it becomes silly.

But, bronze was literally a zero issue this time around? You just have to level a few chars.

I mean yeah, make stuff like Thorgast or Delves as an extra, but don't take away from the raids.

Bronze isn’t a problem right now but if your getting half as much from raids cause there’s less bosses while also adding abunch more rewards with the increase in sets and far more weapons with the like of all the civilian stuff you could run into issues.

I believe it was more phrased as it being a larger endeavor, rather than a bigger feature. As in it could very well be another three expansions before they get along or something.

Which changes absolutely nothing, because they are already available on both side. That would be a deal that literally placates one sides while having no upsides for the others.

i'm not an elf lover and i totally think we don't need a new elf race. but just to calm down some people they can maybe do it bc if we look there is already playable Helf.

I'd like to know if voice direction was changed. Things are back to being around early Wrath (most female Vrykul/Val'kyr) and late Cata (basically all of the Deathwing raid) levels of weak.

OG Theralion was at least campy and fun though.

These are just so dull and inoffensive that they border actually being offensive.

Transmog is broke on beta rn but once it's working if you do "copy account data" from the character copy menu it should get your collection stuff. It's buggy a lot of the time tho

I would caution against copying account data this early in the beta. In several past beta tests, it has caused a lot of bugs.

In what way would it be unethical? Are there any laws about this? There is no way this can be true because then it implies that the people creating a project are forced to use all the lines of the VA they have hired. And we know for a fact that there's tons of projects that see the light of day with cut content including VA lines or entire roles that someone recorded.

There is an occasional ethics issue with changing VAs; if the existing VA is not available because they are striking. Happened with Undermine, hated how it affected gameplay but I could not fault Blizz for their choice there.

It was definitely funny, but I can only imagine how much worse it would be taken today, where tinfoil hat wearers would insist it's a ploy to effeminize the player base and the opposition would insist it's some kind of hate crime to kill something with a camp lisp.

The worst thing to be is boring, though, yes. He became a very poor dragon take being the issue.

who knows. for me, making blood elves neutral would solve the high elf discussion instantly. Of course, to not enrage the horde player, the horde also get an alliance race as neutral. Draenei seem to be set up for that with the ones from voidstorm who are not on good terms with Velen

Curious thing is that some of their Horde counterparts have green eyes.

Alliance one don't have green eyes, only gold and blue eyes.

Maybe we don't get high elf allied race but all of blood elf customisations except fel eyes while Horde players get Amani customisations.

OG Theralion was excellent. The VA was doing a decent old time Disney villain. You could expect Theralion to break into song at any moment.

It's jarring in another way because I can't think of many other examples like it in WoW besides...Budd? Was it Budd? I can't even remember.

The tragedy is the performances in WoW are usually more 80s TV cartoon villains and it kind of sucks most of the time. Sometimes they get winners like the original Kel'Thuzad in terms of charisma and oh God the Wrath one is so bad.

But it's interesting how it overlaps with modern Disney taking the fun of Renaissance era camp villains and making their new ones wallpaper paste. I am no more a fan of the newer Theralion either. I can agree he's boring. These new lines are too.

Making Thalassian Elves as a whole neutral, would basically mean taking away Silvermoon from the Horde. If you have to take something away to give something to someone else is just a bad deal, especially, when High Elf fans already have an (albeit imperfect) solution

I think there's something odd about us getting Amani customizations at LAUNCH when we are getting an Amani patch.

Raphael did it better than Disney mostly because Disney was continuing the Hollywood tradition of gay men being either tragic figures or camp villains which was intrinsically homophobic. Meanwhile Raphael coexisted with other queer characters who were not just tropes. But yeah, Raphael completely upstaged the brain. I still don't get why they did not focus on horror themes with the brain and gave it that illithid face. Just make it a big floating brain.

I don't think it was really jarring compared to the rest of Cataclysm. The VAing that entire expansion was very campy and exaggerated.

Someone also posted Saltheril's lines and while his voice isn't as bad it's the same thing where he's totally mispronouncing the Thalassian words. Most times there is this level of inconsistency and ineptitude in voiceover the culprit is usually the same thing: actors get given next to no direction, no time to study or read their lines beforehand, and they only get one take. Sometimes it makes sense when a Japanese game's English dub is rushed like this but it's so weird when a big budget American game sounds more and more like a bad anime game dub
