I think people would be livid if they had to wait another 6-12 months or so for a new Night Elf capital. I suppose the Night Elves could use a portal on the tree to reach their new home, as opposed to actually living on it. Or the tree could just sit next to their new home, who knows.

By far the biggest pain point about Amirdrassil is that it's not on Kalimdor. I think they'll be willing to wait if it's planted elsewhere and after the expansion.

The fact that its their home though makes me think that either there are multiple zones in the Dream area, one of which is the tree (possible), or the Nelf capital will be open for both factions (people would shit). Because otherwise a Horde players can't access the area.

I think it's the former because all the file stuff is the DREAM and not the tree itself. Regardless of the cinematic. Also the warglaive icon looked like generic dream greenery and not the blue associated with Amirdrassil.

True. I think its success hinges on good storytelling. If the Night Elf Heritage quest and 10.2 offer a good story and makes the Emerald Dream and Amirdrassil really appealing, then players would jump aboard. Right now they're just "new oddly named tree". But what if it turns out (in new lore) that the tree has got portals to all their beloved forests, or that the new home of the Night Elves is inside a version of Ancient Hyjal preserved within the Dream?

I guess delaying the city could work since 10.2 comes out around BlizzCon. That means we'll at least have the city revealed to us at the same time as we visit the Dream, so the wait won't feel as bad.

I'm actually quite excited for the other stories coming in 10.1.7 (Tyr, Heritage (2), and Velen (following week)).

Blizzcon revealing Amirdrassil and a revamped Quel'thalas feel likely given the boats, but I also wouldn't rule out Gilneas since Danuser commented on it.

A full revamp really could be in the cards but Amir and Quel at least are most likely based on all the Belf/Nelf stuff in the files and them both being very popular.

The snitching of the tree is actually a huge problem with this story as it again is the Narrative Team not showing but just telling of a new event that occurred that has no actual shown event to clarify that scenario.

Most likely the Shandris Feathermoon sequence was supposed to come prior to the Megadungeon but stuff got shifted around. It would explain why both parties (Alexstrasza + Allies/Fyrakk) are aware of the necessity of defending/attacking the new fledgling World Tree.

Makes a lot of sense to me, especially with the context of the explanation of what Shandris is doing unless that is additional context for Fyrakks plan.

Again, I really dislike that this whole plotline is a indescribable mess.

I don't buy that criticism, honestly.

We planted the tree in 10.0. In 10.1 we see that is slowly starting to grow. And now the Primalists are attacking it.

I don't really know what event we are missing.

The only thing that is kinda odd is the name drop being at a random point, but other than that, I don't see the issue in the slightest.

To be fair I despise this tree storyline, its probably the worst shoehorned in storyline because the Narrative Team wanted the Night Elf Problem to go away + put the player base in Emerald Dream for the memberberries.

Also it shares the same problems where every character have to be completely idiotic akin to the Primus Sigil quest chain which always feel super nonimmersive and awful as it robs the agency of the world and its characters.

Yeah, honestly, it's whatever at this point. 10.2 launch is after Blizzcon, 10.1.7 next week, then Velen questline begins the following week. There's enough stuff next week to "hold me over" if they decide to wait another week. I'm just excited for everything right now, so it'll be worth it!

Night Elf quest will be a BIG hint at what's going to go on with that, especially as it seems to be an extension of the overall refugee story.

It would be a funny reveal if they make both Amirdrassil and Mount Hyjal/Nordrassil into cities, thereby nullifying the problem. That would likely mean that Amirdrassil is neutral or both are.

The neutrality issue of Amirdrassil is the big question and probably the big sticking point against it being a questing zone in 10.2.

Personal guess: Eye of Ysera and G'hanir in the Dream, but incomplete Amirdrassil that blooms in 11.0.
