As for the levelling zones and capital city then Tel’Abim, Hiji, Ogrezonia, Undermine, Darkspear Isles and Plunder Isle. Zul’Dare is closer to Kul Tiras but it could be patch content and we sail to it for whatever reason. Booty Bay and Gadgetztan could also be expanded.

We have only ever explored one island in the South Seas and that is Zandalar. So no, most of it hasn’t been done. There are plenty South Seas islands in the lore, so no, they wouldn’t have to make up places.
Undermine isn’t an island, it’s an underground/sea continent under an island.

I'm not saying that "more islands" is bad. I was genuinely asking if that's what people want? Would people prefer "sailing seamlessly" between islands over going to a whole new continent on the other side of Azeroth, for example?

I honestly think a lot of the rage about the pirates has to do with it also not being overtly another revamp. People are starting to get salty about no revamp.

People forget that the last revamp added in new zones, so the islands could serve the same purpose.

The rage about pirates is that we had an expansion about the sea, Azshara, and pirates less than three years ago.

It would be like getting Cataclysm, MoP, and then Dragonflight. People would (rightfully) ask why the hell are we doing dragons again?

I wasn’t aware that would prevent us from visiting there.

Just like WoD and Legion, right?

Typically a continent in the main location, not a side location.

WoD led to Legion. Legion wasn’t a rehash of WoD.

Fun fact: Continent does not actually have a definition that clearly differentiates it from an island. They're just very big islands.

Makabreska gave you a good response which you ignored (as expected)
"Ye, it ended less than 3 years ago. With an Old Gods raid. Azshara raid before that. And Horde vs Alliance raid before that. And then Old Gods once again. Pirates presence in BfA was tiny, half of a single starter zone and two dungeons."
"We've come to die for the Dragon Queen Rhaenyra."

A pirate expansion also sounds too unserious to a lot of people who want a return to some seriousness in WoW after the mostly happy-go-lucky Dragonflight.

I just noticed the idea seems to really piss some people off lol.

Yeah, people seem to be really bent out of shape over it. I really don’t understand why. A pirate expansion could easily be dark and gritty with a heavy void theme as opposed to happy go lucky, camp and unserious.

Too disconnected from Faction/race stories, at least on paper. The loreheads yearn for the revamp.

As an Arcane Mage main, I could see myself doing it. But I won't.

I'm just happy I can get that staff without buying the set.

Pirate theme/reasoning for traveling to the South Seas, Avaloren, or anywhere else doesn't discount there being a "Void presence" once we get there.

Aye, and some of us are also interesting in seeing the Alliance partake in some internal conflict.

I don't remember this level of asspain from people when the Kul Tiras armor leaked, but it was a different social climate.

Exactly this. No reason why Nightsquall can’t be working with Azshara and the Harbinger.

Not worth it, it’s Aleuron you’re attempting to discuss with. The same person who labels anyone wanting internal conflict within the Alliance as man children. The same with wanting to see warmongering characters in World of Warcraft. I don’t expect them to be able to see pirates as anything other than Jack Sparrow. If it’s not the black and white of holy righteous paragons of good vs. the dastardly evil then it’s not a story worth exploring in their eyes; woe betide anyone else.

No but Kul'Tiras didn't translate "Pirates". I think at least from my perspective that any island exploring is bound to have pirates but adding too much of it is what turns people off.

Man’s talking like the theme of pirates is something niche that not many are interested in. Like they haven’t been a mainstay of pop culture and entertainment for over a hundred years.

Sci-fi has also been a mainstay of pop culture and entertainment, yet so many peeps where puking lasers during final Legion patch with all them spaceships and shit. Too much of a theme will always cause exhaustion. And yes, current main imaging of a pirate is Jack Sparrow, and peeps were already done with it at the fourth movie.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.
