And I very much enjoyed that point in the plot, because it’s fantasy, and conflict makes stories more interesting. I love Night Elves, but if it was always peace and love and nature, they would get boring.

NEs weren't always peace and love. The writers just turned a blind eye on a chunk of Warcraft history to prop up Sylvanas for ultimate failure. There was literally nothing gained and the story didn't move forward, lmao.

That it's fiction doesn't automatically waive crap writing. Players DO care about the story.

I think Night Elves fans ironically mirror the way Night Elves view themselves, in that they constantly demand story focus, after being the most focused race in the narrative. But really what they want is only good things to happen to them, even though that doesn't make a good story.

• "The Night Elves were given immortality for being Elune's favorite children." Actually they got immortality as an unintended side effect of Alexstrazsa using a seedling of G'hanir plug up the second Well of Eternity they made without permission.
• "The Night Elves were abandoned by Elune." Actually Elune simply let nature take its course. The Night Elves have outlived anything resembling a natural lifespan & there was no reason for Elune to save them. The added detail of Elune wanting them to die so they could help Ardenweald is so stupid its funny. But that just depicts Elune as incompetent.
• "The Night Elves were rendered homeless after the loss of Teldrassil." Valsharah, Feralas. Hyjal. Literally no reason they didn't move into those well-established Night Elf communities. There was plenty of room.
• "The Night Elves are pious defenders of nature" Actually they do whatever they feel like & call that the best interests of nature.

"Why are they treating Night Elves so badly?" They're just very subtly giving them what they deserve.

People other than you have opinions too, and a lot of people enjoyed/enjoy the story. Your opinion means exactly as much as theirs does - so nothing, to the creators of a story. Good creators and storytellers don’t base their craft on a few opinions. They do what’s right for the story. Your disagreement means nothing other than YOU didn’t like it. I care about the story, and that particular piece both makes sense and brings me and others excitement and eagerness for what’s next.

Edit: Also, my whole point at the beginning of this was that it’s not bad faith to put the new tree on Dragon Isles. If I were a Night Elf, I would want nothing more than to leave the war torn lands and be welcomed into a land protected by the Green Dragonflight, and other Dragonflights, who have historically aided the Night Elves. Alexstrasza, Ysera, and Nozdormu all blessed Nordrassil. Going back with the dragons makes sense wether you want it to or not.

Technically Elune let them die to send a package to the Winter Queen, but the carrier lost the package in the Maw .

Third part is a little baffling. They haven't made it very clear that NEs could migrate here from the World Tree, logically it's the next step. But I guess that's the limit of having no revamps to old zones, it's just not reflected in game. This game desperately needs it, too many hanging threads.

Their immortality came from Nozdormu’s blessing, not Alextrasza’s. As long as the tree stood, they would not suffer the passing of time.

Are they serious with this? Why make slow flying an achievement? Just to punish people who don't like Dragonriding? I have a friend who has vertigo & she hasn't been able to play DF because of Dragonriding. This is infuriating.

omg is it possible that iridikron has ties to the void and knowledge about neltharion because he draws power from the earth???

Its been an achievement going back 4 expansions at this point, are you really surprised?

Frankly I much prefer dragonriding so I'm still hoping for the dragonriding unlocked everywhere

Interesting updates. Reading the raid journal I can't help but imagine how hilarious it would be if Fyrakk were to succeed and 'remake the world in flame' and that's what the fireboi orc picture was about.

On a more serious note, if the tree itself is to end up on the ilses.. If the zaralek cavern loading screen tech could be upgraded so that flying far enough out into the ocean would trigger it, and let you end up in other continents without loading screens, would the new night elf home (if it is truly to be there) still feel as removed from the world? I'd like to think it wouldn't be the case.

I know using it for island transportation for ships was an idea most people could get behind, but I wonder if they intend to connect the continents themselves with dynamic riding. Although I.e. The distance between say Azshara and Lorderon seems too far for a 10 second fly screen.

Very nice to hear that it's not a never ever situation. Even if it's not next, it is inevitable.

I've always said these anniversaries will probably lead to this year's announcement having more eyes on it since even the very early days of wow. if not a revamp, it should be big.

See that's what I thought too, the Dark Iron acquisition quest story was when the Cult of Ragnaros showed up, Smolderon the Fire Lord (the one the shaman players put in charge as Fire Lord) was mysteriously gone by the time the cult showed up. So it would've been something like the Cult took the new Fire Lord and hold him as a puppet until they can get Ragnaros back.

BUT... since Smolderon is a boss in the 10.2 raid, that plotline is thrown out the window... not to mention that this is the first time an Elemental Lord is working with the Incarnates, which there wasn't any prior interaction between the two until today so it only raises more questions of why he (Smolderon) is even involved in all this in the first place.

Maybe they can do something with the Cult of Ragnaros and turn it into some big radical group of Dark Irons that don't like the direction that Moira is taking the kingdom and try to usurp her... but I don't know how they'll do it if they don't have the Fire Lord with them. (I was hoping they could use them to make a Mega Dungeon for Shadowforge/Blackrock Depths where we have to fight through the city.. but with 8 bosses as opposed to....however many BRD had.)

I really hope we get an explanation as to why Smolderon is there and we don't just show up and end him without learning anything.
An elemental lord working together with the incarnates is huge and should be explored more.

Also, do we have any pics of the new druid forms? Saw a post on wowhead about it but am currently in a country where wowhead doesn't work and can't open the article

1) A soft revamp with simply new models

2) An intermediate revamp, models are updated with some additions and terrain adjustments

3) A full revamp, the land is completely new and everything is bigger

So many possibilities!

I imagine with Ion stating they've learnt from Cata's mistake of removing the older world without a way to re-access. They'd feel free to to go of the rails with it and really change things up.

Nymue was placed in this verdant realm by Eonar when she and Freya shaped the Dream. In Wellspring Temple, they enforce and protect the ordering of the Emerald Dream, weaving its wilderness into complex patterns.

So, Eonar was involved alongside Freya, Nymue is a titan creation and from the sounds of it they ordered the dream ala Azeroth and didn't create it themselves.

I don't know if it will happen in 11.0, but I couldn't be happier knowing that's not impossible.

The funny thing is that every speculation thread will have World Revamp speculation until either Blizzard changes their minds or it happens.

I hate to bring this up but the wording in that description and design of that boss really invokes Zereth Mortis. MORE PATTERNS.

It almost gives me hope they may actually retcon the first ones and just say the shadowlands is titan ordered death, and not true death.
