    I personally prefer Teldrassils concept.

A tree so big, with a crown so dense that it supports its own landscape and ecosystem is a very damn cool idea.
It's just very hard to translate that into the game.

And it also requires quite a bit more time and world building to work than what Teldrassil got.

Amirdrassil pulling a Nordrassil is vastly more managable, consistent and would look a lot better in-game than big ol' magic stumpy.

IMO one of the main reasons they burned Teldrassil is because nowadays you can see just how crap the thing looks and there's no good way of fixing it without completely rebuilding. Amirdrassil they could actually make look like the concepts.

    Likely.

But i feel like that's such a convoluted way to go about it instead of just... instancing the zone and replacing it in the world with a skybox like they did when it got burned.

You could say that about anything from classic though. Side note, they did a giant overhaul of the main cities in Everquest 15 years in and everyone hated it so much they never updated a zone ever again.

Considering recent comments from the higher-ups at Blizzard Teldrassil was burned because they needed an excuse to start a huge war & they thought it would be poetic to go from Night Elves sacrificing Nordrassil (at least the part that granted immortality) to save the world, to Night elves sacrificing themselves to create a new world tree. "It's like a poem. It rhymes"

Both of these are true (although none if it makes it super obvious as to what 11.0 is, but the pre-order rewards are in and encrypted for what it's worth), the other part is that some of it requires good effort to find between all the encryption.

They really gotta update the wisp model.

Aessina looks so out of place with her crusty, old polygon head look.

Even if they did, Aessina is scaled up so much that she'd still look bad. She'd need a custom model.

Well currently there is a large area underneath similar to Shaladrassil, so I imagine that might be where a city will go eventually.

We still don't know what the hell Aessina is, we probably will never know.

I think it may be that Green Magic Gryphon with datamined textures, it never made it into 10.2 and I don't know how it would fit into later patches.

Though if that has stuff already in, I am unsure if that would be the preorders.

A world revamp would definitely fit with a gryphon as a special edition mount. Really harken back to the classic image of a dwarf on a gryphon.

Yeah, and I was about to argue that its a special looking gryphon, but they wouldn't lock an entire normal gryphon behind the collectors edition.

That's the exact point i'm making. With Cataclysm, they still took pains to keep everything recongnisable. Teldrassil would require changes well beyond that.

Im almost certain it was mentioned somewhere they can't leave their respective realms. This makes 0 sense

Dream is connected to Ardenweald. Maldraxxus people leave all the time through portals and keystones (Kel, Aggra)

Less of a "they can't" and more of a "they don't because game"

Speaking of: huge post-raid spoiler! (If it isn't obvious what happens post-raid)

I don't mind the shadowlands lore and even I'm confused. Why can people of Ardenweald move freely between there & the Emerald Dream? Shouldn't they be dream projections like everyone else who is bound to some other plane? I get Necrolords & Kyrians can leave because that's part of their job. But Winter Queen's minions being able to do it is so bizarre because of how completely oblivious they were to what goes on in the world of the living; moreso than the other afterlives.
