In the case of a world revamp, what should the expansion content be? I mean where do we level to 80 and what will be the driving story in those zones?

Altough a full world revamp really seems like a lot of work for...what? In the age of Chromie time the entirety of the old world or even just one entire continent seems overkill. On the other hand, I'm not sure how I feel about just having a handful of "expansion relevant" zones updated while the rest stays in Cata-time - but that seems like the most realistic option for a post-cata old world update.

Nobody really cares about consistency with internal files like this, so there are often little differences or peculiarities with names in internal files (e.g. Warcraft III's Sylvanas model was called Sylvanus, though I suppose that might've just been a holdover from a beta name).

Same reason there's Horde fortresses in Northrend and Gilnean lampposts in val'sharah.

It's not like people can't go somewhere and build stuff in their established style. The original Jade Forest intro for MoP had the Alliance mid-construction on regular human buildings. A bunch of the new assets have a more temporary/slapdash look to them, roped-together instead of more permanently constructed, like they're new. And given DF's timeskip precedent, it'd be easy for us to show up on the backside a couple years after the Alliance and horde have started frontiering on a new continent.

Well the way I would see it go is that all zones are updated, but not all of them are relevant to max level. Some zones like Elwynn and Dun Murogh might be low level zones. Beyond that I imagine not every zone will have a full set of quests like now, but rather that some zones bleed into each other and effectively share a campaign.
Large areas will probably only be relevant at max level or for specific activities as well.

Then once you are at max level each zone will probably have world quests, but likely not that many. Maybe even just one or two per zone so players are not overwhelmed by choice.

Yeah, I would still be shocked if this doesn't end up being true.
Sure there are inconsistencies in how Calia and Bolvar act, but nothing that cannot be handwaved away with "didn't know what to say", or "it wasn't the right time to tell you".
It just makes til much sense to have Talia be the heir to Lordaeron, and therefore a fitting match for Anduin to marry given they are a similar age and easy to make work romantically.

I think if they are in they will just have headgear hidden. Same with Jinyu.
What I meant was that there's not any reason to hide gear. They are similar to the Worgen in construction, just with a big tail (doesn't matter for armor) and a long neck (shouldn't interfere with anything but some helms that have to be adjusted much like they do on Tauren).

Or they just don't acknowledge how it doesn't make sense in that one specific instance, and instead focuses on how it makes sense everywhere else.

As I have said before, it wouldn't be the first time Blizzard has had characters act weirdly in regards to who they should want to talk to at what time.

    Lightforged Army or Dark Alliance

Either way it's going to be a subversion of traditional values (the light/ alliance always being the good guys)

Though thinking about it, both of these would make more sense as an expansion rather than one or the other

Turalyon and Alleria using this time to catch up on the events in their absence, find out about Yrel and her army - conspire to eradicate the Horde for good at some kind of event where all leaders are present - plan is thwarted at the cost of major lore figure, Genn would be my bet, causing Anduin to come back and take control only to find that many are loyal to Turalyon after the fourth war and the fact the Horde basically got a stay of execution a second time; Alliance civil war commences with Turalyon's major goal being to bring Yrel and the Naaru to our universe to cleanse it of the Horde, and Anduin finally stepping out of his father's shadow and the regrets of the events of Shadowlands and becoming the King he's meant to be

The Alliance story will be mainly focused on stopping Turalyon himself
The Horde story will be more focused on Yrel and freeing the Orcs left on Draenor

I've been scared about the Frontier name and the ropes on the Human buildings for a while now. If they skip revamping EK/Kalimdor for another new continent, but with racial areas, I will likely be skipping the expansion.

Amirdrassil and the Nelves moving in are the one thing that gives me the most hope for a full revamp of racial cities, at the very least

no, i have seen what will happen: in Cata 3.0 Durak will replace Med'an and Thrall as the ridiculously OP shaman. he will try to commune with the elements in an attempt to improve the harsh climate of Dun Morogh, but will turn Ironforge into the new Blackrock instead. most of the expansion is basically Thrall's therapy and wedding, but imporved and massively extended following community feedback. as a bold affirmation of the value of renewal and ability to overcome our wounds, none other than miraculously survived Dagran Jr. will accompany Durak on his journey of self-acceptance - and as he's not the son Golden never had, they will end up together, officializing the union between the Alliance and the Horde.
dwarven souls also sent to turbo-hell, to explain why Sylv still isn't back from her community service. more job, soz. in reality, they won't be able to come up with any kind of role for her, so an excuse is welcome.

Agreed. Isn’t for me. If we’re exploring a new continent then just have it be a new land with new cultures. We don’t need an imitation of EK and Kalimdor.

I largely believe this is what’s going to happen as well, but in a different way. I see either an infinite or a bronze drake opening multiple portals to AU Draenor, pretty much destroying it in the process, and allowing Arakkoa and Ogres to enter at different points on Azeroth. The after effects of this could be the 11.0 pre-release event. Yrel’s army enters last as AU Draenor is destroyed, kicking off the expansion release.

I could see a scenario where Turalyon and others (mainly the LF Draenei) in the alliance back Yrel, since she’s just really building an army of the light. Thrall would outright oppose her because of the Mag’har, and you have those in the alliance kind of stuck in the middle. This gives you a new faction war without tossing the outcome of BFA in the dumpster, and opens the door for Anduin’s return as king.

All of that in the backdrop of a revamped Azeroth.

If the capital cities get radically revamped alongside the old world next expansion, what would you like to see?

    - A dock in Orgrimmar?
    - New districts added to Stormwind or changes ti current ones?
    - Stormwind Vaults?
    - Underhold in Orgrimmar being accessible?
    - Expanding further into the depths of Ironforge?
    - The Darkspears building a city on the Echo Isles or turning Sen’jin Village into a major port town?
    - Exodar in the sky with a more modern Draenei city/town below it in the style of Shattrath from WoD?

I did too, but with 7 more weeks to go i'd rather have the space for other stuff and then move him back later.

For Stormwind i would like mostly just graphical revamps and more added Easter eggs and hidden areas. I would also love to see Stormwind vaults as either a questing area, or alternatively as a full blown dungeon at max level as a nod to Stockades. (Obviously with an entrance outside Stormwind itself for Horde players).

Ironforge i would love if they added more exits. The one to the airstrip is a must, but I would also love one to the Wetlands.

Undercroft in Orgrimmar similarly made into an endgame dungeon as a nod to Ragefire chasm. Maybe it quite as necessary given Siege of Orgrimmar took place there, but still.

The Draenei are the ones that I think deserve the biggest upgrades. Make a medium sized city aboveground using Argus and Draenor assets, as well as moving the Vindicaar above it.

I've hoped for hozen a long time, can give them a little story with the monkey king taking them into the water of the vales and becoming a new evolved hozen that stands more readily on two legs with a slightly higher intelligence. Similar to how Jinyu evolved from Murlocs this way.

I know people harp on about a revamped azeroth but honestly it's the best move - we really don't need a new continent - how often does anyone go to the shadowlands or draenor anymore? Bringing every EK and Kalimdor zone up to the quality of Arathi would be a lot of work but would go far to future proof the game - I wouldn't even mind if it wasn't all at once, just the zones that need it as the story develops

It's silly that we're still cleaning up the cataclysm 10 years later
