There's no reason not to have both flying systems.

"Normal flying" for more accurate, slower movement, Dragonriding for quicker traversal.

And you can easily make every mount "dragon-riding" compatible. There's no need to have distinct animations for that.

Not really. There were some rather intense debate on whether we were doing dragon isles, Emerald Dream, World Revamp, or a Light v Void expansion. I don’t even believe Dragon Isles was the front runner until we got the Alexstraza leak near the end of March.

Incorrect. I was commenting on a leak that stated as such. I didn't create that idea.

then "if we are going to the dragon isles we are likely to get tinkers and a dragon race"
Again, incorrect. I stated that due to the mechanical dragons Blizzard put out between BFA and Shadowlands, there was a chance that Undermine and Dragon Isles could be a merged concept due to Blizzard clearly bringing out a class in 10.0, and there being no clear dragon class concept in WoW. Hence why I created the Dragonborne and Dragonsworn concepts to justify a Dragon-only expansion.

I wasn't aware we weren't allowed to speculate during leak seasons.

The issue with BfA is that the expansion felt like it was originally supposed to come to an end with a cliffhanger at the Eternal Palace of Azshara. The heart of Azeroth is depleted there and sylvanas treachery can be dealt with at the same time and makes more sense with how each faction forces are depleted or dispersed.

Ashvane is freed and conspires with Sylvanas only for her to be in the next scene leading naga armies. This still makes no sense after shadowlands because there clearly was supposed to be more leading up to Nazjatar.

Nathanos using the black blade to doom his own ship into Nazjatar only to completely disappear during the whole campaign is also a symptom of this.

They did learn from this in shadowlands and stuck with a shorter and less "all over the place" campaign but I fear for Dragonflight when they can't even artistically conceptualise a dragon capital city that feels like the rightful domain of the aspects or zones that feel part of the "dragon" isles. Remove dragon npc and nothing can indicate that this place is dragon territory.

    That's what I'm hoping for.

My issue with Dragonriding is that it is very likely to be a abandoned feature which again leaves the potential of the system into the dustbin of history like everything else where people noticed some potential if continual development was allowed.

Again, they aren't going to continue developing it I bet. There's not going to be Player-ran Routes, Better Multiplayer Support + Running Your Own Races, More Challenges etc.

If we're lucky we get to see more Races on the Content Islands they will add, but again I think thats' about all we're going to get outside of Addon Supported stuff if they add Dragonriding later on to EK and Kalimdor.

Honestly when 10.7 rolls in and you can slow down and refund vigor when you want to grab a mining node or herb, even that is fixed.

Why is it certain to be abandoned though? M+ is now an integral part of the endgame, despite being introduced as a slightly more rewarding variant of Challenge Mode dungeons.
If Dragonriding stays popular then I don't see why it wouldnt continue to be supported.

This guy has a habit of painting any feature/development in a negative light and always assuming that future will be shit. Go check his reaction to Trading Post announcement.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

I mean, its literally a retention mechanic to keep subscriptions going.

So are any content patches between expansions by this logic, pal. Fkin Blizz giving us 9.0.7 with new content to keep us subbed!

Well, I mean I can unsubscribe and wait for content patches unlike the Trading Post which is meant to exist so that my subscription never lapses due to the fact that I want every Monthly reward from the Trading Post otherwise I will have to wait a long time before it becomes available for purchase in the Trading Post again.

Anyways, this topic will never go anywhere because people play dense because it suits their weird obsession with this billion dollar company.

Yes? That's true for pretty much everything in the game. The trading post incentivizes players to do stuff every month in order to get cosmetics. If a player doesnt care for cosmetics then they don't gain anything, and if they want it then they can just wait until it shows up again.

Honestly, I don't know why I keep getting into this deadlock conversation. Again, I am mostly just upset it took this long before we received this feature imagine how great this feature would be a decade ago. (Acceptance)

As long as they hold up the bargain of giving us new cosmetics to get every month and fill it out with older DisplayIDs. I honestly don't really care that we are barely fed content wise.

So far they seem to have the right mindset for the system and aren't willing to just dump old DisplayIDs that could've been better suited in a Timewalking revamp and not provide new assets from the Artists.

As long as they deliver new assets to the Trading Post, I don't really mind it beyond the fact that it is like the bare minimum of equal exchange between consumer and corporation.

Obviously, the plan for the Trading Post will make it overfill and I have no idea what their intention is beyond adding more "Locks" for the system or if they intend to add an additional storefront later on which is on top of the already existing Trading Post. But, we'll see.

I still feel a bit irky about the system because of its financial intentions, but I mean you just have to deal with the fact that this timeframe WoW fans would accecpt anything that could be seen as a positive and hope that the Team had good intentions behind it which so far it seems.

I universally think its a positive that the Artists get a system where they can implement assets that wouldn't fit the current content patch though.

Unfortunately not, Microsoft has not given me access to Bing chatGPT yet. It wouldn't know about the Trading Post at this moment.

The skies themselves are turning red, as if the very heavens are bleeding. The ground beneath our feet quakes and trembles, as if the very earth itself is crying out in agony. And the beasts that roam these lands, once our allies, have turned against us with a fury that knows no bounds.

All of this can mean only one thing: the end of the world is nigh. The ancient prophecies foretold of a time when the very fabric of reality would be torn asunder, and we would be cast into an abyss of eternal darkness.

And now, that time is upon us. The forces of darkness gather, and their armies grow stronger with each passing day. The legions of the undead march upon us, led by their fell masters, and the very demons of the Burning Legion themselves have returned to claim what they believe is rightfully theirs.

But fear not, my friends, for there is still hope. We must band together, as one people, and fight back against the darkness that threatens to consume us all. We must seek out the ancient artifacts that can turn the tide of battle in our favor, and we must prepare ourselves for the final, epic showdown that will determine the fate of the world.

The hour is late, my friends, but all is not lost. We can still turn the tide of battle, and emerge victorious in the end. But we must act now, before it is too late.

May the Light of the Sun guide us, and the Wisdom of the Earth sustain us, in these dark and troubled times.

    Signed,

    The Doomsayer.

Oh, that's probably it. We managed to purge that from this thread... *checks notes* probably about a decade or so ago.
