Anyone else still playing Shadowlands?

By choice, I mean.


I've already gotten all the transmogs/pets/mounts from rare world mobs and tresure chests and secret quests and weekly Maw scenarios whatnot... but my alt that picked Revendreth still hasn't gotten all the Ember Court guests to Best Friend status. And I don't want to start Dragonflight until I do. I can't leave until I've "finished" Shadowlands.

Of course I could at anytime, but it just wouldn't feel right. I want to "finish" Shadowlands before I go full on into Dragonflight, because once I start, I want to immerse myself in all the new zones/stories/scenarios/world/everything, and not have to worry about any lingering unfinished business in Shadowlands.

And with the lack of FOMO in this expac (so people say), I can do that. Dragonflight can wait. The only thing I'll be missing is the bugs, and players swarming everything. Everything should have calmed down and stabilized by the time I get there, and I can explore the world and enjoy it. One of the many benefits of outgrowing competitive raiding and retiring to casual solo content, I guess? Been there/done that.

Anyone else doing that? Anyone else stuck in Shadowlands, but by choice?

Also, anyone wish the covenant weekly scenarios were made daily, now that the expac is over?


(What can I say? I just really, really enjoy the Ember Court, and I just didn't have time for it because my main was doing all the other stuff, but I love the Ember Court scenario! The Kyrian vehicle combat was insanely boring and uncreative... and bugged to the point that hardly anyone did it. Maldraxus was just 15 weekly quests. The Night Fae was surprisingly sparse; I was shocked when I realized I had "finished" it. But as someone who loved and maxed out the MoP garden/cooking friends and Pat Nagle and all the other "max out your new friends" systems of the past, the Ember Court is great! I love syncing the guests with the festivities, and min/maxing the events. I do wish I started sooner, though. I REALLY wish I was doing it on my main.)

Actually I only got the mounts and gear from Ardenweald.
Would love to explore Bastion and Revendreth too.
Maldraxxus doesn't get me, though the mounts are very cool.

And then there is Zereth Mortis.
Would love the stag , snail, frog and wasp mounts.

Ember Court is a weekly thing. (And is a scenario)
Stitch Yard has weekly quests.
Queens Conservatory seeds last ~3 days. Or 4.
Path of Ascension you can do whenever. (But is also a scenario)

Last thing I need is the Dredger's Long Sleeved Doublet and a bunch of Ascension fights.

And if someone has some unfishied stuff left in Shadowlands, then for most best time to finish it is going to be content draught in DF, not the very start of it...

It will be years before I will find it in me to check out some of the shadowlands stuff that I purposfully ignored while I m+logged for the last 2 years. There are some mounts in ZM that I wouldn't mind having, but I'm in no hurry to go back to it anytime soon.

There is always at least 3 or 4 person around the command table in the Kyrian place, and lvl70 players, not new ones.

With the exception of PvP, I liked Shadowlands a million times more than Dragonflight. That being said, WoW has never had enough immersion to where I felt like I had to do everything in order. Even if I still had specific things I wanted from Shadowlands, I would simply go back and do them after leveling and doing whatever initial Dragonflight content I was going to do. I mainly just miss Torghast though, so I will likely just have some characters on the PTR that I log on to do that occasionally to avoid out leveling it.

To finish shadowlands I need like 1.000.000 anima according to ATT, and I went deep into Revendreth and Ardenweald and slightly deep into Mald. I have the Veilstrider achieve. So again: 1.000.000 more anima (ATT doesn't count building upgrades into this I think, just the buyable stuff). LOL.
I'm in the sulking phase, where I refuse to do anything from SL. Which will probably subside to "I dont care". Like I should farm out the shitty kyrian thing on 3 more char for the xmog (which means fully upgrade everything on 3 more char, same goes for every other covenants). Fuck no. That expansion could have been sooooooo good but they overpriced everything and """"forgot"""" to buff anima income, or make more thing account wide. I could endlessly farm anima in zereth mortis from chests I guess, if noone else has the same idea and 2-3 people are gobbling up all the chests with probalby slower respawn rate than in SL. Farming WQ-s is out of question other than the 500+ ones.
So NO. Just NO.
I will buy the missing mounts, I think I have 1-2 from kyrian, will check.
(The same overpricing grindy shit also starting to unwrap in DF with renown)

I still have stuff to collect there; plenty of stuff from the Protoform Synthesis and a few mounts here and there. But I won't head back for a while; I will probably more focus on BfA stuff until then.

I really skipped almost everything in SL by choice because systems were too complex for me. When you had to farm 5-10 different things for your covenants I died inside and went to farm plaguefall, story and shackled urzul (which dropped on 300th run). Kinda like your play style but it doesnt fit for me

I have so many Achievements still open in SL.The Ember Court alone I do every week for two years now among others. I escorted Visectus like 200 times, no toy

To answer your question, no. I saw a guy running Mythic Nathria at level 60 the other day though, with everyone else at 70

my wife and I are stuck in shadowlands because we can't drop 100 bucks on two copies of DF right now, and it kind of sucks. We just hit 60 and can't do dungeons because Blizzard removed SL dungeons from the dungeon finder unless you're leveling in SL Chromie time. The worldquest rewards suck so we're kind of forced to just do ZM world quests when they show an upgrade and then do transmog runs til we can afford DF. The removal of SL dungeons from the group finder is pretty annoying since SL is still pretty recent.

There is jack shit to do in the new shiny expansion before m+ and raiding starts. Only thing i have to do now is killing the super rares

I never did a single weekly event despite playing all of SL. Never upgraded any buildings except the portal, either.

Technically yes, and I want to, but I'm a bit stuck right now. I don't want to level my Alts above 60 doing SL Content but locking EXP is currently not possible (bugged) according to the forums so I can't do anything besides the Mission Table to slowly gain a bit of Anima.

I want to try and get all the Covenant Armor Sets and Weapons but that task is probably one of the worst grinds in the entire of WoW. You need to do each Campaign at least four times (16 total), uncountable amounts of Anima, shed tons of souls and lots of time. I've been working on it for the last few months. I have 8 Campaigns left to do, lots of Ember Court and Path of Ascension and still need souls so running Torghast. Last time I counted I needed around 821,500 Anima (471,000 Armor Sets, 350,500 Weapons) to get all appearances with Anima, not including any Anima required for Toys/Mounts I haven't picked up yet plus Sanctums I still will need to upgrade. Thankfully I'm nearly done with the Unity sets (2 complete, Leather at 7/9 and Mail at 4/9).

As it currently stands out of the 19 Level 60's I had during SL 18 of them are still sat at their Mission Table. My main got levelled, and I've been messing with an Evoker, but of the 18 remaining I want to EXP lock 16 of them at least another week to sort some things out so half my account is a bit paralyzed right now :S
