Honestly I just check who posts in the game thread so if they ever claim to be allies I can call them on being hypocrites. There isn't much else to do at this point.

Unfortunately free speech is the thing of the past because people can't handle their feelings getting hurt anymore. Tbh that's true for just about any topic.

But when it's a topic that one side just wants to suppress by saying it's no big issue, a "neutral" approach for forbidding any discussion is already biased.

She's a famous person with a soapbox and opinions that we have known about for years now. It's not like suddenly a game was released that oh no it's new. If your worried about money used for the game funding a thing you dont like I'd check all the other stuff you buy cause she's a drop in the bucket in comparison to a metric ton of other things that also could be bad in your opinion! She just gets a lot more flak because
1. She's not trying to hide it and being a general ass about it
2. She's responsible for a very beloved franchise that most millennials are pretty nostalgic over
3. That very franchise just had a very hyped up game released for it

You aren't gonna change her mind you sure as fuck ain't gonna change any of the forum goers minds and the entire conversation about it can be summed up as

"JK Rowling doesn't like trans people. I agree/disagree with what she's saying and this justifies my purchase/not purchase of this video game"
