Then again, they seem to be in a staring match with the Jets about compensation to see who blinks first, so they may have more balls than I would have in this situation.
Even worse I think Rodgers could retire on them which would fuck them but he could also then unretire soon after and I think fuck them again. I guess the Packers are like fuck it, we can bench Rodgers and play Love if the Jets want to play chicken. (Not thinking the Packers ever want to do that but they have to put up that front)

I just found out Jamaal Williams went to the high school my best friend teaches at, I might have to get a jersey.

Heincke is coming in as Ridder's backup or until Ridder doesn't pan out or beats him out in camp. Ridder probably isn't the second coming but he hasn't been bad in the 4 games he played.

I've referred to him as the new Fitzpatrick in the way he can be mediocre in the most entertaining way, let's just hope that doesn't also carry the curse against other QBs on the roster getting injured and gifting him the starting job. Apparently it was just his 30th, happy birthday, Taylor.

You'd think with years of prep for this moment that Packers fans would be taking the news yesterday better. Instead you've got people saying the Packers should go sign Ryan Tannehill, you've got folks saying that if they can't have worked a deal out yet they should change their minds and force Rodgers back (and then also pick up Love's 5th year option blindly), you've got folks saying Rodgers is going to end up on the Vikings next offseason, and you've got folks saying that the Packers are absolutely going to overpay for Love and be perpetually 8-9 for the next 15 years.

Then again I think that last one is people who remember the pre-Favre era when they were basically perpetually 8-8.

This one makes sense, he is following in Favre's footsteps after all. Last throw as a Packer was a pick then is going to the Jets. Vikings after 1 year is the next step.

Hopefully he avoids the off the field things Favre has done though.

I see why they're saying it, because most people by now have forgotten how Kirk Cousins' contract works. They see "free agent after next year" but forget "he signs an extension basically every offseason to push that another year down the road."

Honestly I'd be more worried if he ends up back in the NFC North that he ends up on the Lions.

Oh Patriots fans should buckle up. They're about to be in a division that sent two playoff teams last year, and the Jets are about to have the Aaron Rodgers circus. I think a lot of people are going to pick the Pats to finish bottom of the AFC East next year.

I don't think the Jets can bottom out with Rodgers. But I'll agree if not the Pats it's probably Tua gets injured and the Dolphins limp to a like 6-11 finish.

I think the Dolphins are really interesting. No one is really talking about them all that much, but they might be the most scary team in the division. The defense on that team is in my opinion now the best in the division. Their problem is can they stay healthy? Healthy Dolphins team is a superbowl contender. But if something happens to Tua again...it might change.

But, I will say, in the past the Dolphins were top heavy and inevitably got 1 or more star players injured and then their depth was screwed up so they wilted. I feel like that may not be the case with this team. Even at QB, they signed Mike White, who I was very interested in where he'd end up, cause he seemed like a steal as a back up/spot starter.

So even in the case that Tua gets injured, I think Mike White can cover a LOT for them and keep them churning, backed up by that legit defense.

So yeah, the Jets can and probably will implode this year, but I'm not betting against the Dolphins.

Aren't they supposed to lure Brady back out of retirement if Tua gets hurt again? If anything that would improve their chances of winning the division.

Who needs receivers? Just keep getting TEs, they're cheaper, and if you need a big play down field you can always use laterals.

There are some receivers available the Patriots can get. There is a slightly used Jerry Jeudy, kind of broken Courtland Sutton or an always injured KJ Hamler they can trade for.

    Patriots let Jalen Mills go.

So now we need a Corner on top of someone more able to play Deep Safety. We did already need size at corner though and Mills got hurt and wasn't more than average last year. So probably understandable. Also explains his miffed tweet a couple of days ago that he's actually a safety hybrid.

Denver is bringing back Riley Dixon. Nice of Payton to be bringing in guys to fix the biggest issues on special teams last year and focusing on the run game in FA. Preparing real nice for whoever they draft next year to replace Wilson.

Preparing this year to mask the hell out of Wilson, too. Which could end up backfiring if they run and defend well enough to end up outside the top 10.

Damn lol. If Payton can't get him to throw in the middle / use tight ends then yeah I don't see Wilson's play getting any better. Run game wont fix much when they can load the box all day. I did say that personally I don't care about Wilson now that the pick is set... but Payton was my ideal coach candidate to replace Pete if we still had Wilson. So I guess I will still be watching them out of curiosity rather than hate watching like last season.

Aaaaaaaaand then they brought him back. On a smaller 1 year deal. Guess both sides realized that life was not as bad together and that maybe they could give it a go with some clear boundaries and see how they feel in February 2024.
