There are 0 similarities between Richardson and McCarthy. Kind of a random comparison. Jayden Daniels is the one that is going to be way over drafted because of his athletic ability. Especially if he doesn't completely change how he plays and ends up injured all the time.
Teams will like McCarthy because he played in an NFL offense and pretty consistently made plays when they asked him to. He's the best QB in this draft class on 3rd and 7+ and when he's moved off his spot even with only having 1 WR worth anything. It's the fans and media that don't like him because they just look at stats on a team built to win games with defense and a really good run game.
Ah, found the dude that doesn't know McCarthy is faster than Blake Corum and once out ran him blocking on a TD run for Corum.
-Thinking McCarthy isn't an athletic freak lol
The difference is McCarthy is a more accomplished passer(not by that much) and is not built like a tank. Other than that he is fast and has a rocket arm. Please sit down if you're trying to talk to a Michigan fan about McCarthy. McCarthy is not a top 10 pick based on his actual game film, but might be because of his workout. If you don't understand that comparison idk what to tell you, that's not saying they play similar or anything at all.
If you're citing anything JJ stat related just look at his production from Penn State thru the playoffs instead of his numbers while hammering cream puffs. There was a massive drop off and well it's not like Michigan ran on Penn State for 50 straight times because they where getting first downs, they where actually going 3 and out a lot doing that and didn't trust him to pass into their secondary with a shaky start after the first real pressure he got all season. Almost helped choke the game away against Maryland. Did absolutely nothing against Iowa and thankfully they just don't have an offense and if his "1 WR worth anything" didn't make a crazy circus catch he is probably watching the NC game at home after a pick on the last drive in the rose bowl.
Also comparing Jayden Daniels to either JJ or Richardson is laughable if you want to be completely honest. Talk about a guy with miles worth of production who is just getting pegged for arm strength something Richardson and JJ are strong at. Daniels is a guy that if he had a stronger arm would be the first overall pick and absolutely deserve it based on his college production. But I suppose you think JJ is a better QB because he had a far better team around him?

I think the NFL benefits massively here by virtue of how short their season is and how many fewer games they play. Trying to follow any of the other major US sports seems more like a job/life commitment than a hobby.

He was bad at Auburn and he looked bad in the Senior Bowl. He's probably QB 5-7 in this draft, so if a team wants him they can probably safely wait for the second round.
It's not even the combine yet, but, 4 QBs in the first 8 picks, with JJ McCarthy being the 4th. And Jeremiah is very clued in to what people around the league are saying and thinking. He gets a little too cute in trying to force his top players into the available teams, but he's usually pretty accurate with players moving up or down.

The thing that annoys me is that a LOT of pundits are penciling in the Patriots as signing a QB in Free Agency and trading back in the Draft. With everything that has happened personnel wise and everything the front office is apparently set to do, we might as well have stuck with Belichick for all the difference it would have made. LOL
I hope it's just the pundits having a totally false read on what the Patriots will do, cause all this new boss, same as the old boss stuff is not very inspiring, even if the results are likely going to be better in the long run.
Nobody knows what the Patriots are going to do so they're just sticking to their past 20 years default. They shouldn't, since everything is different(ish) but what else can they do for now?

The closest NHL city/team is Nashville to me. I'm not cheering on a team from Nashville. And no way in hell will I cheer on a Tampa or Carolina hockey team either. I would keep following the "Thrashers" but I can't get a Winnepeg game without paying for an NHL network/streaming service.
Honestly, Baseball and Hockey need to start accepting that they are going to become the 4th and 5th largest sport in the USA in the next 5-10 years. After that all-star "game" the NBA might slide into 3rd or below too. Soccer is on the rise.
The other issue is that I know when the NFL is going to be on without a doubt. What days and times? Hockey? Could be 10PM could be 6PM...could be Tuesday could be yesterday.

I've followed Fields since he was in middle school...getting "held back" in 8th grade and being the biggest kid in High school technically a year older than everyone and jumping ship from UGA to OSU. Even though his been linked to the Falcons too with trades.. He's a bust.

Not a far off take though.
Soccer has been "on the rise" since I swear the 1990s. It's never going to overtake Football and Basketball, maybe Baseball.

If hockey played one game a week I'd probably feel the same about it as the NFL. Hockey is fucking awesome though.
Thats a big problem too, shared with the MLB and NBA. RSNs just suck compared to the production of NFL. Doesn't help the half the NHL national games have a nuclear ass crew. If you think MNF is bad.... God, NHL on ESPN is terrible. Can't stand PK Subban. TNT is awesome, I think Kenny Albert is meh in football play by play but awesome in hockey.
The Raiders are putting together a very special offensive staff with Luke Getsy, Rich Scangarello and Joe Philbin.
Easy way to check if a mock draft is worth listening to or not.
Scroll down and check what they gave the Packers. If it's an offensive player, move on because this person is merely typing what they want teams to do.

And bad news for teams like the Patriots who lose some of their edge in spending.
It's fine though, hopefully the Patriots are wise about spending their money this time and not like in 2021. Cause they signed Judon and that worked out and he was the main get, but then they also spent big on 2 TEs and a WR, and only TE Hunter Henry really worked out.
We are due some good luck at WR though, so hopefully that starts this year.
Man, we had no cap space to sign Gabe Davis, which was fine by me, but now we might. We can't have this man being our #2 WR and refuse to get better at that spot.
