Apple TV has a documentary on the Patriots dynasty. Its been pretty good so far. Kinda skipped a bit much to give a whole episode to spygate and the 18-1 season. Supposed to cover why Butler was benched in the SB against the Eagles. I never knew why but apparently people on Reddit said that he tried to bring a woman to the team hotel past curfew and got in an altercation with one of the coaches over it.
The Butler Benching is like the 9-11 for Patriots fans, there's WILD theories over it, and until we see this episode, no one actually knows for sure except Butler and some coaches and higher ups on the Patriots of that year. Even a lot of players didn't/don't know. No one on the Patriots nor Butler has ever given a conclusive indication as to what happened or who ultimately was to blame or responsible for the decision.
Given how tight lipped the Patriots have always been, it;s not surprising that 7 years later there's still no clarity.
Seems like KC is tagging Snead and allowing him to seek a trade. Interesting.
The NFLPA added owner and coaches to their team report card. Some things are interesting. Only head coaches below a B- were Falcons, Commies and Raiders. I have no idea how the Raiders only got a D when F- is an option unless Pierce brought McDaniels up that much. Somehow 4 owners are below David Tepper. They must really hate Hunt, Rooney, Glazer and Bidwell.
Ex-Mod. Technically retired, they just won't let me quit.
If you read the team descriptions, the odd ones there, Chiefs and Steelers, are getting an F cause their players feel not enough is being invested into the facilities (weightroom, lockerroom etc). So it's a bit weird, it's not like they are hated, their players just think they are cheap.
I like to see how the negative player feedback gets unprofessional coaches fired, like Baltimore last year and Atlanta this year. How bad at your job do you have to be for players to say you hinder their ability to succeed? Strength coach doesn't seem like the kind of thing a person could fail that badly at yet here we are.

And I see Miami got straight As, impressive

Some interesting stuff in here compared to the perceptions we (or maybe I) may have based on the media. E.g. Sirianni being a mess/losing the locker room but the survey would imply the players think he's efficient and approachable (I think he was 6th in the league).
And what a surprising (to me) dumpster fire the Chiefs are: 31st ranked organization in the NFL. I think the summary was something like "Andy Reid is the only bright spot for them in this survey". Yikes. But respect to Andy Reid doing what he does when folks aren't super excited about the investments being made in the rest of the org. It reminded me of an interview with the Kelces where Travis commented how much better the Eagles' food was compared to the Chiefs--I guess he wasn't kidding.
I was also surprised at Dolphins being #1 and the Vikes being the 2nd ranked org--didn't realize they invested so well in all of the things, but good for them.
And to no one's surprise--the Raiders' players absolutely loathe Josh McDaniels, and the Commanders are a mess (but it looks like the players have optimism in Josh Harris).

Dolphins being 1 doesn't surprise me too much. You could kinda tell that atmosphere was different on Hard Knocks in season.
Panthers are increasing ticket costs year over year again, despite year over year of fielding a trash team.

Missouri Gov. commutes sentence of ex-Chiefs assistant Britt Reid after DWI severely injured young girl
Some serious bullshit.Missouri Gov. Mike Parsons commuted the sentence of former Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid on Friday afternoon, according to the Kansas City Star.
Reid, who is the son of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, pleaded guilty to a single felony charge of driving while intoxicated in 2022. He was sentenced to three years in prison in November 2022. While Reid is being released from prison, he will be under house arrest until Oct. 31, 2025 and will have “strict conditions of probation.”
Prosecutors said that Reid was driving more than 80 miles per hour on Feb. 4, 2021 when he collided with two vehicles on the side of an exit ramp along an interstate near the Chiefs’ practice facility. Reid had a serum blood alcohol content of 0.113 about two hours after the crash, well above the Missouri legal limit.
The crash left six people, including two children, injured. One of the children, 5-year-old Ariel Young, was in a coma for 11 days and sustained a traumatic brain injury. Young’s mother said at the sentencing hearing that she is still dealing with issues from the crash, including balance trouble, dragging her right foot when she walks and needing thick glasses, among other things.
The combine is in full swing yet I haven't seen any articles about hand sizes, NFL media is really dropping the ball.

Yeah. Rules for them and Rules for everyone else. At least Parson's can't be elected again this cycle. I still feel this violates everyone else's "equal treatment under the law". But then again the US justice system is biased towards who has money. Still in my feeling people that have DUIs should loose their license for a good long while.
But on topic about the NFL!!!! Can't wait to see the draft position shift after messing up all the mock drafts.
I'm a Michigan fan, loved the last few years and the run they went on to the National Championship.
But if the Patriots use the 3rd overall pick on JJ McCarthy I am going to be bummed out. That seems like such a reach. If you want McCarthy, and think he's your guy, fine, sure. But ffs trade back then and pick up more picks. I strongly doubt anyone wants to take him in the top 5, even if he had a flashy combine.
He sounds like the type of guy that maybe 1 or 2 teams wants and everyone else has a 2nd round grade on him cause he is still so young and so much more potential than actual product.
But, knowing the NFL, he likely WILL go top 3 and play his first year, cause teams (including the Patriots) are just that desperate for quality QB play.
If JJ McCarthy goes top 3 I'm gonna laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh. Pick all thosse QBs! Better chance a good WR falls to 28.
I have yet to see anyone rank JJ in the top 3 at his position let alone in the whole draft.
