Side note, the Dolphins could have set a new record post merger for points scored had they kicked a field goal instead of kneeling out the game.

Mike McDaniel grew up a Broncos fan, so that's probably the only reason he didn't break the yardage and points records. They easily could have.

I don't have much issue with the call. Here's a win probability graph for the game:

It looks like going into that play, the Chargers' win probability was 75% and it dropped to 51% when they didn't convert. But if they had converted, it would have been 100%. So if you assume 50% odds of making it (which is low for 4th and 1) it's pretty close to break even, barely in favor of going for it.

People hate it though because we just don't like gambling to decide a game.

Made sense to trust offence (given their defence) and a first down wins the game so should not be an issue making that call.

Too early to tell, if history repeats the Bengals usually go off late in the season. Dallas has also looked strong.

It was dumb interceptions that cost them. They play the Bears week 7 so that's a t least one more win for them.
