    You say that, but a lot of people complained about the hobbit and its forced relationship between the dwarf and the elf.

    I doubt it was that, cause the early episodes they kinda shit on the character. Dunno if it changed later, but it was fucked

    People did? Why? It's unrealistic for a fantasy dwarf and a fantasy elf to love each other, or something?

    Exactly this.

    And it's not just a streaming thing, this mentality seems to be present in all forms of entertainment.

    Because it was something dumb/lame/unimportant that was not in the books, it was just to fill the trilogy cause it didn't had enough material

    And let's recall, what does "woke" mean? Let's go with Ron DeSantis' own definition so I'm not accused of being some commie lib extremist;

    https://www.motherjones.com/mojo-wir...ida-officials/

    "the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them."

    That's all "woke" means. If you've got a problem with "woke", it means you're in favor of those systemic injustices. Which means you're pretty loudly telling on yourself.
    thats not what woke means kekw,woke is any and all things the right wing dislike

    I was referring to the RL actor, Val Kilmer, not the role, which could have been given to anyone at an appropriate age.

    Yeah, im saying, they didn't recast out of respect, cause they disrespect the character in the show. Otherwise they could have him with a heroic death and a good father/husband, which was not what they show, at least in the episodes i saw.

    Also, Madmartigan was not a character that would fit their idea of "the world that we live in today"
