Patch 10.0.7 PTR - Baine's Search Side Quest Preview
Today we are taking a look at a new side quest coming in Patch 10.0.7. This quest involves Baine's search for missing tauren in the Ohn'ahran Plains and can be undertaken by both Horde and Alliance characters. SPOILERS AHEAD

• Speak with Mayla Highmountain to get the A Debt that Must be Paid quest. She sends you to Ohn'ahran Plains to find Baine Bloodhoof, and worries about him because of the Thunder Bluff Tauren's history with the centaur.
• When you find Baine, he gives you the Scars from the Past quest while explaining that a group of Tauren led by Bovan Windtotem have recently gone missing in Ohn'ahran Plains. He hopes your relationship with the Maruuk Centaur will prove valuable in locating them.
• Your inquiries in Maruukai eventually lead to Tomul agreeing to help in the search, though Baine is reluctant for her help.
• Tomul gives you the A Tomul-tuous Beginning quest, and explains that many outsiders have visited the plains since the dragons returned. She suggests you start the search along the eastern roads.
• You find an injured Windtotem survivor and the wreckage of his caravan. Baine blames Tomul, but she insists her clan had nothing to do with it. They argue, then give you The Search for Bovan Windtotem and Resupplying Supplies quests. Apparently Bovan put up a tough fight against the Centaur ambush, but he is now missing.
• You find some clues and survivors then kill some wildlife before returning for the A Place of Refuge quest. You next head to Toghusuq Village, a recently established Tauren settlement. There, the Tauren will not let Tamul in, but Baine is speaking with Tagar. You ask about the clues you found, then get the Pinewood Trail quest.
• Baine admits that Tamul is proving her worth, and suggests you reconvene at Pinewood Post to continue your search. There, he won't enter the camp for fear of an attack, and sends you to to the Nokhuud camp in the Shikaar Highlands to kill some centaur and rescue captured Tauren. There you find Nawa, who says Bovan was taken.
• Baine and Tomul find common ground here, as her clan was forced to flee and is now scattered because of the Nokhuud. She gives you the Bovan's last Hope quest and tells you to meet them at Ohn'iri Springs.
• There, Windsage Boku gives you the Optimistic Mystic quest and has you find some materials to use in a ritual to find Bovan. You then meet to perform it and get the What Words are Worth quest. The vision shows that Bovan is captured by Jamoku, a powerful Nokhuud. He is being held at Nokhudon Hold. Tomul says she must confer with her tribe as rescuing him will be dangerous, but Baine doesn't want to wait. She scoffs and leaves as Baine calls her a coward.
• Baine decides to rescue Bovan alone and gives you the Desperate Rescue quest, asking you to meet him outside Nokhudon Hold. There he gives you a potion and asks you to stealth around for Bovan. Sadly, he is already dead when you find him. You get the quest See Red and Baine angrily announces his intent to slaughter the centaur here.
• After your little Anakin Skywalker massacre, you get the Old Hatreds quest and meet Baine to kill Jamoku. You fight him, but are about to get overwhelmed when Tamul and the Shikaar show up to help. Baine cannot believe a Centaur fought to save a Tauren and you return to Toghusuq Village with Bovan's corpse via the quest Case Closed.
• There, Baine gives you the quest Letting Go and mentions that the Shikaar lost two of their own during the battle, even though they all chose to help on their own free will. The two races decide to honor their dead together, and you perform the funeral to end the quest.

And I REALLY don't think my character would be ok with this after dealing with Sylvanas.

I don't get it. What is wrong is massacring an enemy stronghold who tortured and killed your people after kidnapping them off the road? Should we also be outraged because US forces massacred countless of Al-Qaeda/ISIS/Taliban strongholds?

No, you take part, the quest is to kill Centaur. You can choose to do nothing, and Baine will work his way through the Centaur, but you're supposed to help.

And I REALLY don't think my character would be ok with this after dealing with Sylvanas.

One difference being that you fight Nokhud Centaur, who are Capital E-vil.

Mine would be cool with it. Centaurs have been assholes since warcraft 3.

I thought these centaur developed isolated alone on an Island for 10,000 years?
