anyone noticed big groups forming for this raid? when I say big I mean 5+ people... I joined one on my hunter and got booted immediately. Just find it interesting that groups are forming for this when you can solo it easily at level 50.

Yeah, I've seen that too! I think some people just like doing things in groups and maybe they want to make it go faster. Or maybe they just want to have some company while they do it. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, but it's definitely interesting to see groups forming for something that can be done solo.
