Was excited for the proff changes before DF launched. Now I despise proffessions, maybe even more than I used to. Wont bother with it, as per usual.

I've never used profession less, I cannot be arsed to sit around in trade basically begging for a crafter to make items. I'd rather go without. Everyone I've spoken to with the few items I have gotten made hates the system, had to cancel my request because actually they can only get 3* not 4*. I never offer to make anything even when I'm skilled in necks / gems, as I've no idea what quality I'll get with the mats they'll give without having to accept it, I don't want to disappoint anyone saying I can do 4* and then only get 3*.
Please remove inspiration and quality, make a system people can use. Not one designed for the 1% of hardcore crafters.
He can you make this neck.. Yes I can.. that would be lovely. What we have now is a 10 minute conversation with various qualities and buffs, extra money to guarantee it.
Really love dragon flight, but crafting went too far. Keep the talent trees, love those, but remove inspiration and quality.
Also please increase the drop rate on Elemental Lariat, it really sucks to specialise in necks but never get that drop, and fewer people are farming that these days and no way I've got the gold to buy it off the AH.

1) Can you not guarantee a 418 Lariat with Insight? I don't have a JC, but I know for other professions you can guarantee 418 with Insight.
2) Even then, you can at least request a 415 item. Pretty much all crafters who can guarantee 415, have at least a 15-45% Chance to proc 418. And if somebody crafts your item and it didn't proc to 418, you can then still whisper the crafter and ask them to try again. Right now the only way to get 415/418 items is to spam the trade chat, or respond to someone spamming the trade chat.
3) And lastly, even IF it's impossible to guarantee 418, people requesting public 418s would soon realize that their order isn't being filled.
no for point 1 if you can guarantee it 418 it doesn't even let you start the order to up the insight in (even the insight wouldn't even guarantee it 418 as there's more than 50 points missing to guarantee the 418 that's how the crafting system works.
for #2 due to the way it works if say i offer to make you a lariat at 418 we would discuss a price like any other crafter and it dose lets say for the sake of this example we agree on a price of 15k and it doesn't proc to 418 like every other jc that would come with free recrafts till it proc's for the recraft all you would do is send it back with the minimum commission and the artisan's mettle and we keep going back and forth till it proc's 418
3) id sure hope so as i even get guildies putting a rank 5 min craft on 4 418s which aren't guaranteed meaning i cant do the craft for them
to add some context to recraft a elemental latiat to 418 a still of 410 is required with al the points in everything necessary inc having rank 3 mats the highest skil you can get is 351 the insight gives 30 skill which would leave you at only 381 29 skill shortj of being able to do that work order
edit 2 crafters dont like using their insight as it costs 50 mettle the 381 i got to was with suing the cloth that adds difficulty jsut the insight will get it to quality 5 but crafters don't want o use it on public or even personal orders, as that's 50 mettle that they had to sink into that 1 craft

No, and most professions cannot guarantee a 418 when you add any embelishment, no matter the mat item quality.
That's why it's mostly pointless to add any mats in T3, T2 mats are usually enough since you need an inspiration proc anyway. T3 mats are only worth it if you craft anything without embelishment, then as you write it's possible to get 418 with insight but without proc.
The trick is to annoy the scammers with much more ‘scams’, put up your own fake scams that use the captured Souls (nobody has these in stock), and they’ll be just one of many ‘page 2’ orders. It bloats the orders, but at least it’ll make people much more aware.
Frankly, I think that if they did that then the whole system would work like reversed AH (post order, crafter 1-clicks it, done), and then people would, rightfully, start to question the whole system.
Let's face the truth, the whole work order system is the same kind of step "forward" as removing LFG tool. Instead of being able to get what you want in a few clicks you now have to shout in trade channel to find a crafter / customer.
Maybe it will bring people together, maybe it's a positive change for the community, who knows (just like LFG is blamed for toxicity)?
Bet mechanically it's a convoluted mess which makes complicated that which was simple before.

I have enough of EA ruining great franchises and studios, forcing DRM and Origin on their games, releasing incomplete games only to sell day-1 DLCs or spill dozens of DLCs, and then saying it, and microtransactions, is what players want, stopping players from giving EA games poor reviews, as well as deflecting complaints with cheap PR tricks.
I'm not going to buy any game by EA as long as they continue those practices.
The entire Workorder system is exactly backwards. Rather than offers to buy made by players who often aren't even sure what they want (or what's available even) and have no idea what would be an appropriate price/tip, the system should accept instead offers to craft by crafters, specifying exactly what you can get and at what cost and what material requirements. This would be like 100x as efficient as the current system which is so broken that you still have to find a crafter in Trade Chat, negotiate the price, and THEN go enter a private order into the Workorder system.
api is worthless if there is no one to use it.
fact is that community has to fix a blizzard-created issue, and it will take blizzard weeks/months to fix this unlike mod makers who do it in record pace.
if subscription MMOs are reduced to "fix oversights & bugs yourself" like in bethesda games then its truly beyond doom for the gaming world.

People seriously have that many public work orders available ?
I've had a total of around 5 available since launch for my tailor (of which I could do 3).

Just use the addon filter and be prepared to recraft to set minimum quality if that's something you're hot for. Devs will get there whenever lol.
I really feel like they just need to bin this work order system, personally I preferred the good old AH.
Unless they changed it, that's not how it works. I haven't crafted in a while, but at the start of DF I was perfectly able to accept work orders that I wasn't able to craft at the specified quality, but the "Craft" button was disabled until I could guarantee the required quality by adding Insight.
That depends completely on the price. I sold A LOT of insights to random people in trade chat. And I still have some four-digit number of mettle left. You get so much mettle, and even more now with the increased droprate of Dragon Shards of Knowledge.
I love the fact that the community already created a solution for something that Blizzard will take months to fix if they will ever fix it. Games that allow mods and addons live way longer.
