Dracthyr customization (or lack of)

Currently leveling a Preservation Evoker, and although I love the playstyle, the Dracthyr skin is a total turn off. I've been "gimping" myself by actively avoiding Dracthyr form. Not specced into Verdant Flight and avoiding Breath/Embrace/movement abilities.


With the limited customization options, and the not-yet-confirmed 3rd spec that they could have added from the beginning, It feels that the class/race was rushed.

It would be amazing if they:

• Make xmog in Dracthyr form a proper thing
• Open up visage form to other races. It would be cool to play as a gnome a-la Chromie
• Make it possible to be in visage form indefinitely in combat
• Add more customization options of Dracthyr form. I would be all in to have a skin similar to Drakonids

I'm really into collecting xmogs. I love my current xmog in Visage form, however the belt/shoulders or w/e look ridiculous in Dracthyr form. So I opted into hiding those pieces.

What I find odd is that in many threads people seem to be against all of these customization options. If you like current Dracthyr form, cool. I understand that some of those ideas might be "against" current lore. But having more options is always better. Gameplay should trump lore, and it has before.

This is a brand new race that hasn't had that much attention put into its dragon form, gear-wise of course. More time would've had to be spent getting all forms of gear to fit dracthyr, although Blizzard already knew that and would've preferred to handle it later than hold back the expansion release because of it.

So before this my Dracthyr form was basically nude and my Visage form had a lame xmog. Since then I've farmed some xmog gear and now i'm feeling better about the Dracthyr form and enjoy a little switching from one to the other between fights. Also got an appropriate title "the Eternal", to fit the theme.

I stole the Dracthy Xmog (sans the Sword) from a Reddit post. Working on the Visage form. The new questing gear set from caverns matches really well, but i'm not 100% convinced.

Just let us be in Visage form all the time, I don't get why force us into this dumb looking lizard form. If people like the dragon form they can use it, but let people that don't like it stay in Visage all the time.

I think some eyelashes would be a nice addition. Like Tarecgosa. My super soldier keeps getting dust in their eyes because they have no protection.

But I get you, as a 15 year druid main now Evoker, I rarely bother with customizations.

You can't be serious. Looking at their available options they're easily one of the most customisable races.

I mean, nothing they're requesting is unreasonable. Its just removing a bunch of awkard design decisions they made in the same way opening them up to other classes than just evoker did.

- their transmog options in Dracther form are arbitrarily limited and having to pair them with their "customized" armor can be frustrating
- the entire premise behind visage form is chosing to look however you want. Again its weird and athematic that they force you into some never explained half-elf form
- being able to play entirely in visage form has been a frequent request from some
- lastly - more customizations never hurt

I don't know. Most of the scaly players have their Dracthyrs naked in-game, and those who aren't into scalies just use the human form, so who is the actual audience of dressed-up Dracthyrs?

i have to agree, I tend to walk aroudn in visage form (which in it self is a let down if Aspects and major dragons can pick there race, why must Dracthyr be tied to humans) I also hate that because of Dracthyr only able to see Shoulders, and belt, that alot of the Special Ensembles, we get from Rep/Trading post tends to just to be Shoulders/head/Chest or belt. I miss when Ensembles, used to be an entire outfit, instead of having to take dracthyr into consideration

It think those ensembles are less made with Dracthyr in mind, and more so made because belt, helm, and shoulders, are the pieces of gear that require the least amount of custom fitting to all the races.

I think the current setup for transmog options for the dracthyr is the worst possible option of all the options available.

While I would prefer to have full armor transmog on my dracthyr, I would very much rather have the dracthyr body display no transmog pieces whatsoever and just have its own full sets of options, so that I at least can have a cohesive dracthyr 'barber shop' armor set.

Our current set up makes it a nightmare at the best of times to properly mix-and-match existing shoulder/belt/tabard transmogs to the existing dracthyr armor options, and their color schemes match almost no existing transmog pieces. Not even any of the evoker's tier set graphics properly match the dracthyr's barber shop armor colors.
