About time! people have been buying gold regardless.
Your argument is predicated upon the fact you are unable to resist buying the token? I mean that seems like an odd position as well. Unless you're saying you don't want OTHER players to buy a token. Well, that's not yours to say either.
The rest of that response is rhetorical nonsense to justify an unsupportable position. Find a better argument that doesn't cause you to choose what others should and should not have. That one is DOA.
I wish I could say I was surprised, but with Blizzard being the soulless husk of its former self it is, I can't say I am.
A big "fuck you" to whichever Corporate Suit killed the last remnant of integrity that Blizzard games had.
I hope you choke on your next quarterly report, and if not, kindly proceed to shove it up your arse.

Finally wotlk classic players can fully embrace the GDKP raiding scene. Like it was ment to be.
LOL. You mean "Blizzard finally decided to get more money out of WoTLK".
Are you really that ignorant as to think this is about combating gold sellers, and not about Blizzard getting a whole bunch of sweet cash because the majority of people would very much like to buy gold but don't want to do so against the rules and risk their entire accounts?

The 5 people that actually farm gold in wrath are in shambles.
Everyone else knows what was already going on.
I mean, it can absolutely be both.
Of course Blizzard makes more money. Whether you want to admit it or not, it does combat botting to a degree and at the very least it's going to curb buying gold from illegal sites by a decent margin as well. It's what happened on live when it was introduced in WoD as well.
You're playing the game with blinders on if you think for a second that there isn't a giant underground gold selling scene in classic WoW. It's really simple to see if you ever do GDKP runs at all, and while there's plenty of ethical people who just play the game a lot, there's plenty that absolutely buy gold to buy anything they want. There are discord servers on every major realm with thousands of people that almost act like a cartel. While not all of them do it, there's plenty of them that run dozens of GDKPs a week to sell gold for RL money.
I participate in GDKPs because I don't want to be in a guild and it's a fairly good system in WoTLK if you aren't in an organized guild. It's a bit discouraging when somebody walks in winning things that you know buys gold from illegal sites, but I guess that just goes with the territory.
Gold is actually pretty worthless in Classic if you just uh, play in a guild. Consumables cost nothing and if you just limit yourself to guild activities and/or running SR runs (they do exist), gold actually doesn't mean anything.
Personally I'm happy because if they do decide to go to Cataclysm I can convert all of my remaining WoTLK gold to subscription time anyway. Why? 10 mans drop the same loot as 25 man for the next two installments, it's a lot easier to organize and if you have a group of 10-12 people you will never in a million years need gold for Cataclysm and MoP.
GDKPs were never super mainstream in OG classic until WoTLK. They however have been rampant in Classic since the beginning, but I have a feeling much like the original launch of Cataclysm that there appeal will diminish in Cataclysm. Why? Same reason as I said above. Why spend any gold when you can just organize a 10 man with friends? While content in Cataclysm forward will 100% be easier the second time around, the difficulty of the raids do increase as we go forward, which makes doing GDKPs harder and harder.
No, its Directly related to your argument. Are you saying you would be unable to resist playing ele shaman? I mean that seems like an odd position as well. Unless you're saying you don't want OTHER players to play ele shaman. Well, that's not yours to say either.
Find a better argument that doesn't cause you to choose what others should and SHOULD NOT have. That one is DOA.
If you cannot see your argument is IDENTICAL, then you are not worth this discussion. Notice that you completely refused to discuss the points raised? That is NOT because they are nonsensical, its because they entirely dismantle your "argument" and you absolutely, 100% know that - thats why you are avoiding speaking about it.
People who don’t want token are just those that buy gold and prefer it if there is no way for people who rather not break ToS to buy gold.
So that they can easier control GDKPs or economy in general.
There’s no valid reason not want token, When 3rd party buying has been a thing since classic launch
Awsome signature and avatar made by Kuragalolz
Its pay2win since classic GDKP runs exists. Except this GDKP isnt that bad its just currency for your efforts BUT ofc if you dont push cash into gold you just had to farm some GDKP runs. Nothin changed imo. For PUGS ofc. If you are guilded no impact in that area. BUT again another one BUT. Prob economy... huge inflation in 3,2,1...
The issue isn't that Retail has changed the way people experience a Vanilla remake (Classic).
The problem, as people have been pointing out since the first calls for a Classic server started is that the Players have changed. We have changed.
You can't get the experience and feel of 10+ years ago back because your not the same person you were 10 years ago.
The only thing that can give the people who want to live those time what they desire isn't a computer but a time machine and a lobotomy.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death
I have no idea what you're talking about.
Where did I agree that I was wrong? I agree'd with a part of someone else' post that there was a bot problem and there always has been... even after the WoW token.
I Didn't agree with anything you've said so far. At no point did I say that some people didn't want the token. I was making the argument it's a terrible idea, makes a game p2w, and an alternative would be to just police the game better. Unfortunately (as we've come to expect with Blizzard lately) the approach taken is:
Step 1: Problem is created
Step 2: Ignore it while it takes root.
Step 3: Sell the solution
