Again. Nothing is new. All writers copy.
There are about a hundred different things that FF12 and Star Wars have in common. And the Judges resemble the Sith in more ways than one. That is just one of the several ways that they do.

It's not denial. It's just that claiming that FF12 just copied star wars is an ignorant, shallow and awful take
This world don't give us nothing. It be our lot to suffer... and our duty to fight back.

It's such a common fucking trope that Warcraft did it TWICE. Like did you really not figure out Anduin was just a redo of Arthas and Jailer a redo of Sargeras?

This is why no one is taking you serious, because you clearly don't deep dive into many stories to see most of them are the same shit.

I said that specific combination of plot points is not a trope. I am not sure how many times I need to repeat that.

Arthas in WC3 was not really mind controlled either. He just became an evil version of himself. But he was still largely himself. Not like Anduin or the Prince in DQX.

Regardless, refer back to my post about Metal Gear Solid. Individual plot points = trope. Specific story with tropes in combination = a lot less likely to be merely a reused trope. More likely to be copied.

And a few thousand they don't. Yes, they're both based on the same basic concept. That doesn't make FF12 a retread of SW.

The last dungeon, the Sky Fortress Bahamut, is even like the death star. Even has a giant cannon that is considered a sort of super weapon and there is a Star Wars style air fight outside of it. I could go on all day.

It isn't a direct copy of Star Wars. Never said it was. But they copied many different things from it. Pretty shamelessly although I still love the game and Matsuno.

I don't rember enough about DQX to make a definitive statement about that, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had similar elements like SL. Japanese games (same is true for novels/manga/anime) are kinda infamous for jumping the shark towards the end and drifting into philosophical nonsense about god-hood, the grand machinations of the cosmos, etc. SL was the same in that regard, it just took Blizzard 16+ years to completely lose all reasons and send us to the very forges of cosmic origination and the final destination of all living beings. All we were missing was meeting Metzen and/or Samwise as the actual gods of the warcraft universe to tell us their grand design, well or the imposters currently holding the reins. That hardly means WoW's SL copied DQX, it just means WoW has been around far too long for its own good.

Checking the synopsis from DQX on wikipedia also doesn't give me the impression they shared much in that regard, a distinct lack of possession and time travel kinda disqualifies SL from copying it. I guess in the 5th expansion they meet some angels? As far as hero constellations go all of them have been done to death in fantasy. Heck most of the elements can be found with the ancient romans and greeks already. Depending on the interpretation even the bible has that motif (though I guess most ofit is apocrypha and was likely added in the second millenium).

#1) MMO-C should be glad that the British Empire is no more, because they'd want a piece of all the copium trade here.
#2) Angry players come to the forums to complain about the game... but what loser only comes to the forums to complain about the forums and its users?
#3)Felating Blizzard too eagerly may lead to oxygen deficiency and worst case asphyxiation. Long-term effects range from delusions up to cerebral necrosis. #4) The WoW playerbase doesn't deserve housing.

"Game vs. Game" type threads don't tend to produce much in the way of constructive discussion or debate. Closing this.
"We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
