But you really should know better than to attempt to discuss with that person. Nothing good comes from it.
Oh, that junk? Wasn't even good.

He's had years to get that one to the point that it is more due to laziness than actually missing out.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

You should have realized it already, that my goal is purely completionistic now. I haven't had these items by now exactly because I didn't like content, they were obtained in. For example some heirlooms involve PVP content, I actually hate. So, I have to say it again. My goals aren't erratic. They're always carefully weighed. They're always about balance between pros and cons. For example if I wouldn't be able to get PVP rewards via exploiting PVE workarounds - I wouldn't even continue working towards this goal. As I've already said. Some minimal amount of heirlooms required for leveling all classes/specs - is actually enough for me. Getting them all - is just a small bonus.

I don't care about Wow 11.0, if it's not solo-MMO. Inclusivity is priceless - race change for free!

So, there we go, so just general human want, nothing more.

Aren't all games about it? Yeah. There are always two things in games: "What players want" and "What devs make for them". It's good thing, when these two things match. But when devs make what players don't want - it feels more like a job, not game. And devs should always support things, players would want to do. Collections exist in this game for reason. To, well, collect them. Mounts, pets, toys. As you might notice, heirlooms are in the same category. It's collection and it wouldn't be wonder, if somebody would want to collect it.

No, it isn't and you know that. Players tend to have very narrow and personal wants and very little regard for others or much clue about what makes good design, while the devs need to make something that both fits their whole audience and actually makes for a playable game.

There's an inherent mismatch to it, and matching players to closely tends to make for crap games.
