It's a (now fixed) bug from patch day, where resetting a key actually completed it - so people could just zone in and and out and finish the dungeon that way. Do that 25 times and even OP can get their key to 35.

This is of course going to be rolled back, but I don't expect people to get penalties, even for egregious cases like this. You know how it is with Blizzard: exploit early, exploit often.

Theyve dished out punishments over the intentional exploiting of the Suramar WQ for AP grinding back in Legion.

They'll definitely hit people for this, this isn't something you would accidentally do multiple times. Once, sure. They'll roll that back and do nothing, but anything past that becomes clear.

They absolutely did take action on that. I had friends that were stripped of the honor and also got an official warning. It wasn't an instant ban for accounts that were in good standing but they did take action.

People can be really fucking stupid. I remember years ago there was an error where the PvP vendor in SW was giving away the PvP gear. No rank needed, no currency needed, you could just buy it all. It was obviously a mistake, and the next day it had been fixed and all the offending gear was gone. There were a lot of people that logged in to naked toons because they bought the PvP gear and vendored their existing gear crying about how unfair it was.
