I'm sure Blizzard has engagement statistics for this kinda content and usually when we see Blizzard not changing something, it means that people are engaging with it. (Don't fix what isn't broken.)

Blizzard doesn't change those things mid-expansion - AFAIR Ion admitted that openly in the pre-Dragonflight Preach interview - because there's no time to plan new features when most of your team is already working on the next expansion. So even if the metrcis say that it's bad, you won't see any changes until at least 11.0.

And not only that, they are entirely useless. The Dragon Isles are full of absolutely worthless open world assault things now.

Can you define and quantify "entirely useless" and "absolutely worthless" and compare them to the objective value of "fun" for a sample size of 1 million players from varying backgrounds and demographics?

It's a x.x.7 patch so my personal expectation was exactly what they seem to be delivering. Some light world content, continuation of story quests (for hour or two of gameplay). I won't play much of this since the content doesn't really excite me, but I'm grateful for it not being obligatory, so I can play other games instead.

10.2 is due in about 6 or so weeks. That'll be a new raid and season. Plenty of other games to play until then (Baldur's Gate 3 is really good btw).

yeah, you would hapily trade content YOU dont like for content you like, and screw people whol ike that content and dont like your prefered content...
if the content is useless to you nobody forces you to do it, you can just unsub until 10.2, somehow i dont think you will be missed...

We get a new raid and M+ season every time. That's standard.
How will that solve this open world dogshit?

I said it before, the Zaralek Caverns was a new zone tied to a tier patch and it had basically nothing (sniffensneaks are kinda fun but so gated they basically don't exist, rewards also nothing).
Mechagon, Nazjatar, Korthia, Zereth Mortis, even the fucking Broken Shore had at least some content to do.
In Zaralek you can't even farm cool items from rares, there is maybe 1 that drops something or so.

I like raiding and M+ but sometimes I like to just do the other things that the expansion offers. Couple IE here, a vision there, a torghast somewhere.
And DF offers fucking nothing.

Part of the reason why DF 'content' is fucking useless is because the core systems of DF are fucking useless.
What are dragon supplies for? A shovel transmog or so and thats it.
It's pretty hard to build content on lacking foundations that's why every single fucking assault gives you a new type of token.

God forbid someone want actual end-game content instead of the 3rd catch-up fuckery we got in a patch where you can gear a new toon from 0 to 430+ in less than a week.
At least Dreamsurges will give champion gear as well for those people that were asleep for the past half a year.

Honestly I don't mind that these kind of content exists, but it's true that they're repeating the formula a lot and that gets people tired.

I understand that it's a .X.7 patch, but for me it would be appreciated if they changed the formula and innovated a bit more. I'm sure people will have fun with this and that's cool, but at least in my case I will do the Dream invasion once and that's all probably, and like me I'm sure there are many people.

this might be shocking to you, but WoW is not made solely for you, there are people who like different things than you do, and im sure there are people who would like more "catch-up fuckery" instead of raids, and their opinion would be as wrong as yours

How hard is it for you to read?

I do want to engage with more content than raids and M+.
I always did.

I did the mage tower when it was current on 9 classes (all of their specs).
I did all the IE achievements when that was current, PvP included.
I farmed almost a full set of rank 4 essences on close to 2 characters.
I cleared every single thing in Torghast.
I got the Nazjatar meta achiv, Mechagon is still a bit away.
Got all the covenant halls maxed out (on separate characters tho).
Got most artifact appearances on a couple toons.
I have leveled every single allied race to max for the heritage armors.

I've done more 'casual' shit in this game than most casual players.

I do most of the content in the game.
Even if I don't like something I at least try it a couple times (like pet battles or most forms of PvP).
But the current quality of 'content' in DF is null and void, this is not up for debate when you compare it to what we had before.

What is there to do?
The only actual fun thing was the flying minigames over the isles.
That not only fit the theme of the expac but provided something to do that you actually had to play, unlike the endless versions of AoE grinds introduced throughout the patches, which by the way, AWARD JACK SHIT.
You get leveling mogs at best, useless fucking catch up gear most of the time.

Like for fucking real, they just introduced the catch up vendor in Loamm, now you have catch up vendors at Timerifts and now you gonna have even more catch up at dreamsurges for fucking what?
Where do you catch up with these? Everyone should be at 424+ since the past 3 weeks at this point, the current gear upgrade system is incredibly easy to gear with. THERE IS NO NEED FOR THIS MUCH CATCH UP BS.

I've never actually done a timerift.
I play the raid and get my keys done and then I'm unsubbing to play other games until next season.
This version of WoW is awesome, I don't actually have to do some pointless daily point collection crap that doesn't lead to anywhere. I can just play the content I'm interested in and don't have to feel like I'm left behind for not logging in three times a day.

Dude, why is this even an argument? How difficult is it to understand that quality of side content has nothing to do with it being mandatory or not? Make another damn Torghast or whatever (which was, by the way, million times more ambitious than the "side content" we get in DF) - just don't force people to do it for another set of legendaries. That's it! It really is that simple.

Sure.
But it should be equally easy to understand that something like Torghast (which was one of the main features of a main expansion x.0 release) simply isn't going to appear in x.x.7 patch and it's actually pretty insane to think someone would expect it to?
