Oh boy, I cannot wait for people to call for him to be fired next expac.
what could go wrong glad to see we have new ideas coming in wait wait
I have mixed feelings about this. I know Metzen is an important figure to a lot of people, but he has made some mistakes with WoW through the years. I hope it turns out well.
Good move.
This lovecraft BS in Dragonflight is boring as hell.
The factions and races we actually play and love are not involved in the story anymore and all we currently have are dragons and dragon villians nobody actually cares about.

If your team is full of clowns, then you're nothing more than a Director of Circus.
Let's hope they'll let him do the WoW section at Blizzcons opening ceremony again.
He was always more captivating than Ion or Dave Kosak imo.
Good move.
I hope this is more than just a PR move

cant wait to see everyone deifying chris metzen and just casually ignoring the bad decisions made while he was at the helm. Want to say that I'm excited he is back, but there's gonna be some serious revisionist history in the discussion around this. People act like the lore and game was perfect up until he left lmao

Can't wait to see people crying about the next xpac and how Metzen fucked it up, when them hiring him now has little to no bearing on an expansion that's already been in development for the past 3+ years and is 95% finished at this point.
I don't think not having Metzen is what's wrong with WoW, and I don't think Metzen can just single-handedly fix everything. Which is exactly what the unwashed forum hordes are going to expect and demand.
yeah, pretty much. I'm pretty confident that even if we get an expansion with the "cool" things people cite as missing, there will still be post after post whining about the story. People want the feeling they had when they first experienced the warcraft universe, it's just nostalgia. No one can replicate a feeling steeped in nostalgia, it's a purely personal problem
