    Leak

    New Expansion: Nahantu

This vast land, similar in size to the other five zones, is teeming with untamed wilderness and ancient secrets waiting to be discovered.

Nahantu is a land of contrasts, from the Restless Canopy’s verdant foliage to the barren expanse of the Teganze Plateau. It is home to the Field of Giants, a place of lingering hatred, and the dark depths of the Kurast Sewers. Each location presents unique challenges and opportunities for the Spiritborn, whose connection with nature will be tested like never before.

The zone comes with new quests that will take players on a journey through Nahantu’s many dungeons. From the eerie Forge of Malice and Sleepless Hollow to the haunting Forgotten Remains and Ruined Wild, each dungeon holds dangers and treasures in equal measure.

The campaign will lead players through the Durance of Hate, to the Gates of the Necropolis, into the ethereal Spirit Realm, and finally to the Five Hills - the tomb of Akarat. Each step of this journey will reveal more about Nahantu’s history and its connection to the Spiritborn.

The pinnacle of Nahantu’s challenges is a new raid centered around Khazra. With five wings to conquer, this raid will push even the most seasoned adventurers to their limits.

New class: SpiritBorn - Uses glaives.

The release of the Spiritborn class opens up a whole new way to experience Diablo 4. Their unique abilities and playstyle offer fresh strategies for tackling Nahantu’s challenges. Whether you’re navigating through the Restless Canopy or battling in the depths of Kurast Sewers, playing as a Spiritborn in Nahantu promises an adventure like no other.

The Spiritborn, a class deeply rooted in the elements of nature and the spiritual realm. They are the children of the wild, born from the spirit of the plains, sky, soil, and forest. Their souls are intertwined with the world around them, drawing strength from the very essence of life and nature.

Their weapon of choice is the glaive, a symbol of their connection to both the physical and spiritual realms. The glaive is more than just a weapon to a Spiritborn; it is an extension of their spirit, a conduit through which they channel their power.

The Spiritborn’s power comes from two resources: Vigor and Allegiance. Vigor represents their physical vitality and endurance, gained from their bond with the earth and sky. It fuels their physical abilities and allows them to perform feats of agility and strength beyond normal capabilities.

Allegiance, on the other hand, represents their spiritual connection to nature and its creatures. It is through Allegiance that they can call upon the spirits of nature for aid, summoning ethereal allies or invoking powerful elemental spells.

The Spiritborn are not merely fighters; they are guardians of balance. They stand on the boundary between the physical world and the spiritual realm, ensuring harmony between the two. Their mission is not just to defeat their enemies but to preserve the natural order of things.

In battle, a Spiritborn is a sight to behold. They move with the grace of the wind, their glaives dancing like leaves in a storm. Their attacks are fluid and relentless, like a river carving its path through stone. And when they call upon their spiritual powers, the air around them crackles with raw elemental energy.

Whether you’re drawn to their unique blend of physical prowess and spiritual power or their noble mission to preserve balance in the world, playing as a Spiritborn offers a truly unique experience in Sanctuary.

This is new. We received such a critical mass of WoW "leaks" that they started to spill to other games.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

Leakers abandoned the idea of guessing the next expac's name so they're trying to at least get the trigram right

Could this leak be the real deal after all?

This article seems to lend it some credence.

I'm curious how credible the source of that article is. I keep rereading this leak, and I am 100% convinced it's fake.

First off, it very much reads like it was generated by ChatGPT and then edited. ChatGPT loves to form meaningless fluff sentences like this:

Kurast Sewers being in Nahantu also doesn't make sense. Kurast is the former capital of Kehjistan which is an existing zone in the game. Nahantu doesn't exist in the current lore, and there's no way it can appear out of nowhere in the map of Sanctuary and be comparable in size to the 5 playable zones in Diablo IV. According to the leak, it would have to be ~5 times the size of Khejistan while being inside the borders of Khejistan. Also, does anyone really want to go back to Kurast Sewers?

I can't see there being a Khazra raid. They're minor villains in the franchise. They're not a major faction like Beastmen from Warhammer Fantasy. They would be an extremely odd choice as the antagonists for the game's first expansion.

Spiritborn seems to overlap heavily with Druid themes. I have no idea why they would add a class like this when there are major class archetypes/fan favorites like Paladin and Amazon still missing from the roster. There is definitely design overlap between the Rogue and Amazon, but there is nothing reminiscent of a Paladin in-game. The only class that currently uses shields is the Necromancer, and they just use them as a stat stick. Necromancers also currently hold the role of preserving balance in the Diablo universe.

Seems very questionable to me. Especially with how rough the past few months have been. I can't see this new class receiving an overwhelmingly positive reaction at Blizzcon. I could see a lot more excitement if a previous class or archetype was announced.

That is also an extremely long-winded class description that doesn't give that much tangible information on how the class actually plays. This is not how Blizzard or game designers generally write class descriptions. They're short and sweet and easily digestible so players can quickly compare classes at a glance and make a decision.

This is the Druid class description from the official site for comparison:

"The Druid is a savage shapeshifter, fluidly transforming between the forms of a towering bear or a vicious werewolf to fight alongside the creatures of the wild. He also commands the power of earth, wind, and storm, unleashing nature’s wrath to devastating effect."

Diablo IV classes are also not defined or restricted by specific weapon types in this sort of overt manner.

I don't see anything in this leak that is so exciting/mind-blowing that it would make folks who quickly abandoned the game after release give it a second chance, but that's just my subjective opinion. This just seems like more of the same to me.

    Source video for this leak:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROeOmAJAQBE

It's in Russian, but you can turn on CCs and translate it to English. He shows a text document that mentions Kurast and keywords in the leak.

I think the data is probably real. It's logical that Kurast and Mephisto would be next, and the Church of the Light was founded in Kurast. Possible segue to introducing a new holy class. There's also empty space on the map for Kurast.

I think the leak above is definitely fake. The video and the leak came out the same day. I think the OP watched the video and wrote the leak using ChatGPT and keywords from the video. I think they added the line about WoW to draw in a larger audience.

There's no mention in the data or video of Nahantu, glaives, or half of what's detailed in the leak. The only data that mentions the Spirtborn class involves wings and flying animations and something about armor thorns. They could be angelic in origin, and thorns damage was a major Paladin/Crusader mechanic for certain builds in D2 and D3.

There are also very few lines regarding the Spiritborn class compared to all the other classes so it may be a placeholder name.

Well looks like you're wrong because the info is legit. They were able to get into the steam files, this guy is right.
This info came out the same day they posted this leak from some Russian youtube channel. This "leaker" likely stole the info from there.

The basic key points are correct, but the rest very well could be made up.

Given he names the zone as "Nahantu" which I can't seem to recall being in Diablo lore while WoWHead has datamined the zone names being Tojaran Jungles and Teganze Plains (which are the names of the areas in the lore), it very much seems this is fake.

I'll say, there are two classes that are deeply tied to that area. Obviously one is the Witch Doctors; the Umbaru live in those two zones and we will have plenty of Witch Doctors around us. The other is some form of Paladin/Crusader/Templar since we will be going to Kurast.

I don't see a link between Paladin and Spiritborn but I could see a link with Witch Doctor. Though it seems crazy to me when we still don't have a heavy armored class to give us Witch Doctors.
