If these turn out to be fake I will come back to this thread and admit being fooled. Hopefully others (on either side) will do so. Not to humiliate but to prove that any of us can be fooled either by a good fake or because our desires start clouding our judgment.

So uhh yeah if this is real, that person in big fucking trouble.
Lol who do you think leaks things? It's often done deliberately. Unless you're Nintendo. Wow xpacs almost always leak within a week of announcement and they don't mind they even joked about it when they announced dragonflight. Almost certain its them doing it. I mean they put preorder bonuses in the game files that people are constantly data mining every patch. It's all done for hype and attention and gauge people's reaction.

If its real, we gotta have some words with Blizzard's department putting these things out. We gotta make sure they're okay

Because a lot of the 'This is fake' support is strictly on 'The composition isn't as good as what Blizzard normally do'

On the fence. Not confident enough to say either way. Very, very high effort if fake. If real then Blizzard are reusing assets to cut dev time - smart, but not the best look given the community’s post-bfa attitude towards them. Makes the expansion look a little cheap.

Plus it matches other leaks we’ve seen.

    lolololololol

1- they do not deliberately leak things, it does nothing but bad for the company
2- yeah almost like in the last week before a reveal more and more people who are not part of the company itself get ahold of the info... like shirt printers, poster makers, etc...

it is not them doing it. also pre-order bonuses have to be there ahead of time so they can be active when a pre-order goes live.

It's real and I'm not excited about it really. Dwarves are boring.

    Leaking sells convention tickets.

Leaking screen caps from something they are already going to present anyway is actually genius marketing

No, don't believe them, too bland

  8. #328
Wild that people think this is fake when there's 3 complete new models in the pics, this could not be faked realistically

I mean go back to the start of the thread and read. You can see the divide day 1 but I'm still just stunned people are still crying fake. More and more unique and new things are being found by the day in this thread but because a few of the assets look like reskins of existing models it's... Fake? Nah. I called it first day. If this is fake it is the single best fake ever posted here. Ever. Nothing comes close. I don't think it is fake though.

Leaking does not sell convention tickets, literally fucking no one is willing to drop THOUSANDS of dollars cause "oh my god a person posted a grainy blurry picture on mmochamp!"

And no, it is not genius marketing, it is horrible marketing, you literally know nothing about marketing.

I REALLY like the first two pictures. They are exactly what I imagined for this new continent. The last two however aren't great. They just look like new areas in Vol'dun and Zuldazar.

You clearly know NOTHING about people and marketing. Tons of people sit on the fence of spending that money (which isn't thousands btw) not knowing if they should because they don't know that there will be something they want announced. Leaking stills had the ability to get those people pretty pumped about things... Why do you think that Blizzard posted on their own website pics of Blizzcon getting setup?

A lot of the focal points of the pictures look like they're straight out of BfA zones. Especially the first and third pics. First one looks like low view distance in the northern area of Tiragarde sound.

I do, speaking I speak with some of the devs, and they get fucking furious when stuff leaks, because it ruins the surprise, the reveal, and the mystery. Expansion reveals are the ONE time that stuff is shown off as they intend, as with any other time people datamine shit to fuck months before it is even playable and visible as it is fully intended.

early leaks do FAR more bad then good. because what it does is stops blizz from controlling what is shown and how it is shown, people see stuff and take it out of context and get their expectations and hype way over the top, meaning that when they reveal and its not what they came up with in their head, they are even MORE let down.

if you got a reveal that said
"Player housing" and was an actual leak, people would fucking flip the lid with hype.
Now imagine 3 weeks later after everyone has gotten super excited and been super hyped and made up their mind how you will be able to build up an entire town with your guildies and place everything exactly how you want, craft stuff, place stuff, kill bosses and place trophies from them.
then the leaked revealed happens, and turns out its just the garrison.

devs and the companies do not like leaks, it is why they have these things called NDA's, if they really wanted them to leak they wouldnt make people sign NDA's, they would just say "if we find out its you, you're fired" instead of "if we find out its you, you will be fucking demolished in this industry, and sued out the ASS"

"why do you think blizz showed the blizzcon stage being set up?"

Cause that is not a leak, nothing they show is new, the stuff they show in the pictures is stuff we already knew would be there. They are hyping people up, they are not purposfully spoiling anything, there is nothing in those pictures that is spoilers.

This is the blizzcon plan shown to us over a month ago.

We knew about the corridor of time, it is a stage set location at the convention. it is not "some secret thing to do with the expansion reveal!" cause they have NEVER had a stage themed around the expansion, cause well that would kinda spoil the fun wouldnt it?

They look absolutely real. These are not any known locations in the game, and nobody would put any effort into faking this. I've seen things, that ended up being real, that looked faker than this. I doubted the Bolvar cinematic and the Dracthyr pictures. They just looked absolutely weird and Bolvar eyes didn't make sense to me. I thought it was from a different game. I was convinced. But these look way more real to me than anything I've ever seen leaked before.

Also, notice the Dwarf background with the statue lifting the axe and the thunder and gryphon in the background. Huge attention to detail.

I appreciate a Dwarf expansion, but to be honest, I hate the whole "Titans are the real bad guys" thing.

As far as the zones looking like things we've already had before, come on guys, that's been true for most zones in the last few years, especially Dragonflight. And at some point, you've done every variation of forest, snow and desert zone you could possibly do.

Deliberate leaks have long been a marketing strategy in the entertainment industry. It often helps the company rather than hurt it if done in a controlled manner. They don't need to put files in the game for a preorder bonus ahead of time. A quick update to the client is all that's needed. And they especially don't need to name the files what they are. These also are not posters or shirts that get leaked it's images and info from reveal footage. Remember the images of dracthyr? Not third party.

Do you think it's a coincidence that a screenshot with those same props in game also leaked... Like... within days of that?

This also wouldn't ruin the surprise because all it's done is spark debate about if it's real.. This drives people to get hyped to be right about their assertions.

Humans like winning, but in order to win there has to be a debate. This leak creates a debate which will not only drive ticket sales but boost stream views and the money made from that. This is all marketing... And yes, devs will pretend to be upset about leaks because it gives them deniability which adds to the debate.

It is not a coincidence, it is not for the main stage, I literally showed you what it is for, and all the things shown are things ingame, and the leak shown does not even have any of the things "leaked"

they literally go right here. the corridor of time, cause they are bronze dragon pillars.

like literally there is no "leaks" here, this is exactly what we knew, and exactly what we expected, nothing here is a leak.

and no, you are just wrong.

We don't want this. This has nothing worth marketing for.

We've had Titan architecture in every expansion except TBC and WoD. It's everywhere.
