Disable twitch autoplay

Hi,

Can you please turn this garbage off? I don't care about any of the twitch streams that are on the main page, and would rather not have to scroll down and manually pause the videos every time I refresh the page. There is no reason at all for all three of them to start playing at the same time, besides the obvious ear rape that occurs when all three start blasting into my head.

Are you sure it wasn't an ad? I see no twitch streams on the front page. and from what I remember autoplay has been disabled for a long time.

Hello, are you referring to the race to world first post?

I had a look at the code in the front page post and forum post, and both of them have autoplay set to false.

Live streams still autoplay. Maybe twitch embeds don't check for your autoplay variables, or check for different ones?

As far as I can tell they are all set to not autoplay. That isn't a personal thing unless you have a browser extension that does something with Twitch, it is set in our embed code for everyone.

I only have AdBlock. Not sure why that would make livestreams specifically autoplay

I encountered an issue with Twitch live streams auto-playing when I had Twitch white-listed in Privacy Badger specifically - once I took it off the whitelist, the stream embeds stopped auto-playing. Somehow whitelisting it in PB overrode the embed's parameters setting it not to automatically play. I have no idea if the same thing might happen with Adblock, but it might be worth checking.

I don't whitelist anything. Not even MMO-Champion. If you guys want to do things like vote on a request for information regarding infractions when people are reaching out for information so they can actually appeal, you don't get to have my ad revenue.

Twitch killed auto play on embeds months ago, nobody can do it anymore anyways. They didn't like the fake viewership boosts, most notably with streams like fextralife.

If you get an embed twitch stream that auto plays there is something incredibly wrong happening on your end, or twitch has not properly blacklisted the site, since it's only allowed if the player is the most prominent thing on the web page.

That's not in my purview, and I was just trying to assist with your issue. Good luck figuring it out.
