It goes against their current design philosophy of making things in the game more visible and intuitive for players.
And it'd cover up most of your transmog, which was Evoker's biggest issue and something they recently claimed to have learned from.

I could see it working as a temporary form you use, either as a cooldown or something you build up to like Devourer's Meta, but I really can't see a permanent mech working that well, practically. It's a cool fantasy in its own right (though I'd prefer a gadgeteer), but not one that translates too well to gameplay as a permanent form. And besides, if it's something you only have access to for short windows, they can make it much more powerful and impactful. Maybe they can use the swapping skills mechanic that they've been using lately to reduce bloat, and have you use a mostly different skillset during mech windows? That'd make it very distinct from any existing options.

Yeah XTs design seems like a good template for what titan tech mechs would look like

High chance the Mech would be a cooldown, so only present some of the time, much like the Metamorphasis form, which is big but has neve been a problem.

Agreed. The only way I wouldn't see the mech being a CD is if it was a transformation. But then it wouldn't really even be a mech.
Blizzard just doesn't seem to be a fan of permanent stances/forms anymore. None of the new classes have them & a majority of them have been pruned. (Like DK presences, Monk stances, etc)
