"No, really, why is this a major victory?"

I don't think you really understand how important it is to Trump that Harris can't stand on a box. He immediately had to tell everyone.

"But the camera will only rarely show them both at once! And everyone knows most men are taller than most women anyhow. The height means nothing."

It does to Trump. He's really stoked that Harris can't stand on a box. This is so bigly for him, so yuge.
Hmm, if no artificial lifts can be worn, I guess Trump can't have shoes on because he does use lifts in his shoes to make himself seem taller.

However, Trump did far worse as he didn't actually answer any of the questions asked. He answered all of them the same way. "ILLEGALS BAD!!! INFLATION CAUSED BY HIM!!!! THEY ARE COMING FOR YOUR JOBS!!!! RIGGED ELECTIONS!!!!"

If anything came from that, it was direct evidence that the media is pretty much phoning it in for Trump. Instead of being the "Forth Estate" and actually holding elected officials and candidates for office to task for their actions and their outright lies, they decide to just ignore pretty much the biggest liar of all. Yes, there are some that do fact check him but they need to do it actively when he says something that is an outright lie and not afterwards. Challenge him to his face and let him prove what he is saying is true.
It's like that one headline I saw after the debate: "Biden looked old and slow, while Trump was full of energy and lies."

inb4 the headline the day after the debate "Trump debate performance filled with much gusto and volume, accused by some of speaking with inaccuracy; Harris meanwhile appears shorter, less tall, than Trump."

You know, she should come out in a tan pants suit, eating a hotdog with Dijon mustard and showing Walz drinking a milkshake with a straw. It might make the news media shut down from being overloaded from all the outrage.

So, I guess I know a talking point that Trump will bring up at the debate.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...e09fd9de&ei=21

Trump is calling for the 25th Amendment to be modified so a vice president who covers up the 'incapacity of the president' can be removed

Former President Donald Trump has called for a change to the Constitution, saying that a vice president who tries to cover up a president's incapacity should be impeached immediately and removed from office.

Speaking at a campaign event in Mosinee, Wisconsin, on Saturday, Trump said he would "support modifying the 25th Amendment" to support the dismissal of a vice president who "lies or engages in a conspiracy to cover up the incapacity of the president."

"If you do that with a cover-up of the president of the United States, it's grounds for impeachment immediately and removal from office, because that's what they did," Trump said to the rally crowd.

The 25th Amendment states that if the president dies, resigns, or is removed from office, the vice president will step up to take on the top job.

This is not the first time Trump has slammed the Democrats for switching their presumptive presidential nominee from President Joe Biden to Vice President Kamala Harris.

He has often accused the Democratic Party of causing the Trump camp to waste "millions of dollars" on attacking Biden.

"We weren't fighting a vice president," he said in a rally in Michigan on August 29. "We didn't even know who the hell she was, and then all of a sudden they say, 'Joe, you're losing badly, you got to get out.'"

Harris has staunchly defended Biden's mental capacity after the disastrous June presidential debate, which had Democrats and donors questioning his fitness to run for reelection.

When asked by CNN about whether she regretted insisting that Biden was fit to run, she said she did not.

"He has the intelligence, the commitment and the judgment and disposition that I think the American people rightly deserve in their president," she said in the interview shortly after becoming the Democratic nominee.

Representatives of Trump and Harris didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider, sent outside business hours.

I've seen this already pushed out to the rabid fanbase. Should be easy to counter.

It is also a way to lose Hillbilly Vanilli if he wins the White House. Then he thinks he can appoint the guy who just bought Epstein's island. Trump's new associate Hadinat Kilmasel.

So do we bring up the many lies from the Trump WH about his health during his Presidency?

How about that time Trump almost died from Covid...
    no?
don't want to talk about that?
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

Pollsters go after people who engaged. Voters and non-voters who consistently answer polls first and foremosts. People often criticize polls based off sample size, which often isn't the problem. You don't actually need large sample sizes to measure a population. Political polls get the .lat criticism based on the questions they ask. Example when Biden was in the race polls would ask who would candidates like to see go against Trump, listing Biden, Harris, other Democrats. Most people said Biden and people said "oh people obviously want Biden to stay in!" What the participants were really saying was they would vote for any Democrat and defaulted to Biden because Biden was the presumptive candidate at the time.

The polls are not comfortable right now, though.

Harris shouldn't address this, let him rave. What I don't like about Democrats is that they offensive like Republicans. Trump is only talking shit because he knows he can control the airways, thus giving him free press.

Look at how much of this thread is just reacting to the 50th dumb attack Trump has made in the day.

He gets off way too easy. Especially when the polls that matter are basically tied. Trump is immensely unfavorable and yet still holding in polls. Harris can fumble the bag.

I've seen a term bandied about recently called "sanewashing." Wherein Trump rambles on about some insane shit, and the media does their best to "sanewash" what he said into... well, something actually sane. They are utterly desperate for Trump to be on top. It helps their bottom line, especially for their right wing owners.

Somewhat related, but I have literally never been contacted for any sort of political poll. Ever since 2016 the only poll that matters is on election day.

Do you emails/mail/texts from any parties. I'm not registered as a Democrat, never have been, in a closed primary state, local Democrats won't leave me alone. Get stuff from Republicans too but not as often. Got hit up for phone and text polls but I don't answer my phone and forgot about the text polls that could actually be verified.

You can register with polling companies and then they'll send you polls, which you can fill in for rewards. You usually need to fill out a lot before you get anything, though.

Nikki Haley would like for her party to be a bit less overtly misogynistic. Please.

In an interview on Fox News' "Fox & Friends," Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, was asked why she thinks Harris has a 14-point lead in the gender gap among women.

"I think it's because Donald Trump and JD Vance need to change the way they speak about women. You don't need to call Kamala dumb. She didn't get this far, you know, just by accident. ... She's a prosecutor. You don't need to go and talk about intelligence or looks or anything else. Just focus on the policies," she said.

Haley said that when Republicans call Democratic women "dumb," "Republican women get their backs up, too."

"The bottom line is, we win on policies," she added. "Stick to the policies, leave all the other stuff. That's how he can win."
Oh no, if it isn't the predictable and natural consequences of a party with misogyny baked into its foundational, core beliefs.

And Republicans wonder why the party is continuing to lose its appeal with women. I'm sure Susan Collins, if asked about this, will be very, very concerned.

Aargh posting here, might deserve own thread.

So there was a story about Aurora Colorado just a week ago that a Venezuelan gang had taken over an apartment building. It was debunked. Now comes this false story that Haitians, are eating people's pets in Ohio. Once more the story is false.

So posting here that this is the late stage of fascism as we know it, with false stories of groups to install fear and hate. We discussed so many times, but they are not even doing the so called Black and White "fixing immigration". Just fascist, open whistle of who to hate.

JD Vance and shockingly many knows open white supremacist, Stephen Miller and others are using this as a voting issue.

"BROWN/BLACK FOREIGN PEOPLE SCARY" is sure a decision to run on, but I guess it works when much of your base are ignorant, racist, xenophobes.

Though honestly this sounds a lot more like Florida Man than Haitians.

Edit: Well, there's a kernel of truth to this!

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...t/74902749007/

A woman in Ohio was arrested after police say she stomped a cat to death and ate it in front of multiple people.

A 27-year-old woman was charged Wednesday with cruelty to companion animals, according to Stark County court records.

Canton police arrested the woman on Aug. 16 after they say she killed and ate a cat in a "residential area in front of multiple people," according to an arrest report obtained by USA TODAY.

During an arraignment hearing on Monday, the suspect's bond of $100,000 was set, WKYC reported. Her next hearing is on Friday, according to court records.

USA TODAY could not reach the woman's defense attorney on Thursday.
    However, unsurprisingly, she's not Haitian.

Yeah. I don't want to go too off topic here, but that is/was the story. It was a woman who killed her cat and yes not Haitian.

But to stick to thread a little, this as a open political tactic is frightening. As much as we need to fix immigration, I hope enough people see where this is going. I'm always pessimistic on this, but maybe they get it.

Oh as always, Republicans get to actually openly run on this shit. Idk what the comparison of Dems just attacking groups and calling them subhuman would not gain traction but would doom the Democrats in a election.
