As someone who is trying to pretend to not be a Trump supporter, but who actually is, why are you pretending to be concerned about such things?
Why do you feel the need to try and perpetuate those conspiracy theories? Sad!
It's weird that you keep propping up white supremacists in your crusade to get them elected. But, since I have you here, and since you are a Trump supporter. Would you like to try and explain why the guy you support has been pushing so many false conspiracies?
It was you trying to start a debate about nothing that was pointless.
Robinson is getting blown out in NC and Trump can still win the state. That's the point, not sure what part you got so butt hurt about that you needed to reply and start some hostile debate because you took offense to the fact Trump can in fact win the state by upwards of 100k votes. It is within the realm of possibility. So anymore pointless strawman arguments you want to start about hypothetical statements being twisted to be absolutes?

I wanted to say this clown wouldn't even be eligible but then I looked it up and saw he would be, just fucking barely lol. I would love for the republican party to run this man, talk about a landslide in favor of the dems.
People don't seem to realize it's the combination of charisma and bigotry that gets trump huge support. You can't just be a bigot without the charisma, that doesn't really get you far.

People keep talking about Trump being charismatic but I just don’t see it. I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t completely repulsed by him on every level imaginable from the day I first became aware of him some time in the 80s. I just cannot comprehend how anyone finds him even remotely charismatic.
Americans worship money. They have been bullshitted to for decades that those with money and power are something we should all strive to be. Coupled with our long-standing American way of life centered around racism and xenophobia he's perfectly charismatic to lesser educated folks who take things at face value instead of looking further into it. You may find proof in our resident Trump supporters here on these forums who will literally repeat whatever nonsense Trump and right-wing news outlets put out instead of taking a second to verify the information.

I'm not trying to start a debate. I was just clarifying that your statement was so vague as to be pointless. I was confused by your ambiguous use of an adverb because I assumed (more fool me) that you weren't choosing the usage that was absurdly pointless. I should have assumed pointless rather than wrong, though, I guess.
Mea culpa.

"Trump is a poor man's idea of a rich man, a weak man's idea of a strong man, and a stupid man's idea of a smart man."
He is what they aspire to be: a guy who can get away with saying whatever he wants and yet somehow continues to fail upward.
I've said it before, from at least Reagan on, the Republican voter base has vastly preferred a mascot full of populist demagoguery as their presidential candidate rather than a legitimate politician (let alone an honest person). It's unsurprisingly hard to be a career politician aimed at the highest government position in a party that eschews "big government" (or at least claims to).

Words to live by.
That's because you're thinking of a mascot like a leader: someone they want to follow.
That's not exactly the kind of mascot they want. They want a mascot to terrorize their enemies and say all the hateful things they always wanted to say. That way, they don't have to feel bad for following suit and doing the same. That's the kind of "charisma" they're drawn to.

Being repulsed by someone doesn't make them not charismatic.
Charisma probably just doesn't mean what you think it does. Some of the most repulsive humans to ever walk the face of the earth where charismatic- it's how they built a following and got into power in the first place.
Trump is not as good at this as he was in 2016, but it's still good enough for a large portion of the uneducated masses otherwise he wouldn't have a chance and sadly, the repulsive fucker does very much have a chance.
The difference between Trump and most of the other random bigots in politics with no charisma is to these people Trump has the buzz words, the insults, the nick names he's "cool" to them. A lot of other republicans just come off as dweebs they aren't the people these chuds want to lead them.

You keep saying something is pointless while making posts that say nothing because you didn't even understand what you where replying to. Time to put down the drink. The point was about Robinson and republican presidential voters are not going to fall in line and vote for him. Only you wanted to spark debate at the hypothetical that Trump could in fact win NC comfortably and Robinson is still getting annihilated.

I won't get too excited, but holy fuck latest polls have Osborne over Fisher by 5% in Nebraska. That would be insane to flip that seat.
Wilhoit's Law: "Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."
The backlash against "liberalism" or "progressivism" or whatever label the right-wing bogey-man is this month in America is rooted in the way that late 20th Century America started reaching some of its ideals (like "liberty and justice for all"). Not perfectly or completely, but actually starting to get a grasp on them. The conservatives (who at present are synonymous with the Republican Party in the United States) saw that they might be required to obeythe law, and that people who were not them could be protected by it, and went berserk. Stark, raving, mad. And they've never returned to sanity, and largely never will. They'll die before they every accept that "We The People" means all the people, or that "justice is blind" means that they don't get special treatment. (Again, I'm not trying to argue that the United States has or did accomplish that, just that it was starting to pay attention to doing something other than paying lip service to its own ideals.) The only real question left is when and how they will go to their graves, and how many others they manage to take with them. They've been insane for so long, many in the Anglosphere see right-wing American insanity as normal, or at least expected, even when its the sort of thing you normally see only from deeply dysfunctional regimes (such as: laughable ignorance, absurd hyperbole, reality-free rhetoric, and open and blatant corruption.)
"For the present this country is headed in directions which can only carry ruin to it and will create a situation here dangerous to world peace. With few exceptions, the men who are running this Government are of a mentality that you and I cannot understand. Some of them are psychopathic cases and would ordinarily be receiving treatment somewhere. Others are exalted and in a frame of mind that knows no reason."
- U.S. Ambassador to Germany, George Messersmith, June 1933
Oh, cry harder. You accused me of trying to pick a fight, then when I said I wasn't, you decided to pick one? Grow the hell up.
Also, if you don't understand the relative ambiguity of adverbs in the English language, that's something you can educate yourself on. I had a choice between one meaning that made sense but was wrong, and an alternative that was utterly pointless, and I mistakenly gave you the benefit of the doubt.
Again, my bad.
In no way did I even approach saying anything remotely resembling that carefully crafted strawman.
I literally said "the Mark Robinson woes will not have a huge effect" and "Trump still has an edge".
If you dislike people who pick stupid fights, it sure seems like you must hate yourself, because that's precisely what you're doing here. But go ahead and lash out again if you want, I'm done with this.

Charlie Kirk, like every single other right wing culture war ghoul, would evaporate into a fine mist if the Eye of Public Opinion were ever allowed to turn its unfiltered gaze onto him.
He's at his best when he's throwing platitudes into open air and debating college kids. He'd absolutely disintegrate if he was forced to defend and debate his ideologies with people who actually know what they're doing.
As for the point on conspiracy stuff: Just -like- Kirk, their effect on general discourse is limited to people who're already going to believe them. We've kind of reached maximum lunatic saturation, in that - more or less - everyone that is on board for Republicans screaming about bullshit is already in their camp, and people who know they're just making shit up already knows that (or simply assumes they are at this point).
