Taking a moment to think about it; I believe the election would've gone the same way (As noted above; a lot of Biden's boost came from Black communities, and 2020 had some of the largest Racial Justice protests since the 60s), but I think turnout margins would've been smaller in both ways.
A normal response to COVID wouldn't have let the disinformation fester the same way, thus stifling both the violent anti-government/anti-vaxx sentiment, as well as the people motivated by 'These people are absolutely fucking insane and cannot be allowed to hold power again' sentiments.
That said: I think Trump would've felt -more- owed a second term if he committed to a rapid and concise COVID response, and the ensuing Jan 6th riot might've potentially been worse. Or he would've just bitched more loudly about stolen elections, either or.

Does Jay Dee Hamel support GA's 6-week heartbeat bill banning abortion?
Honestly, he just doesn't know enough about it to have an opinion because his opinion would be unpopular.
Reminder that Republican candidates are both stupid and dishonest.
Vance is so trying to set himself up to pivot back to center if the whole MAGA grift thing falls apart.
Sadly, the people of Ohio are probably dumb enough to fall for it and re-elect this clown to senate.
I don't think he has the foggiest clue what the center even is. He just knows that the actual Republican position on abortion - which is that they want a national ban - is incredibly unpopular and is engaged in the same strategy of "avoiding the topic at all costs and being as vague about it as possible when you can't" that Republicans have largely engaged in since they started noticing their attempts to completely ban it in even deep Republican states was running into the brick wall of reality and how deeply unpopular their extremist positions are.
I wish I had more confidence the people of Ohio won't re-elect him, but sadly given that they elected this idiot in the first place I'm not super confident.
Trump legitimately did not give a flying fuck about COVID. It didn't directly profit him, so why should he? He saw his base was resistant to mask mandates and "believing the doctors" and so forth and went that direction because it was the path of least resistance to keep people cheering his name, and making up and saying whatever he wants is way easier than having to form "plans" and consult "doctors."
Trump felt he was owed a second term because he didn't want to stop being president. No amount of Biden beating him harder or with more or fewer states would have changed Trump's reaction.

I mean, I was just running with the hypothetical scenario in which he actually gave a shit and did the bare minimum; but point taken. I think the events leading up to the end of the 2020 election would've remained more or less the same, just with smaller overall voter turnout.
Operation Warp Speed
If you're memory-holing something that big your opinion might be a liiiiiiiitle bit skewed
So did Trump listen to health advisory officials?
Did he advise people to wear masks in accordance with all known health institutions?
Did he advocate social distancing and support work from home initiatives and dissuade people from social gatherings?
...Or did he tell people to inject bleach, that COVID would magically disappear, that horse-dewormer would cure it, etc?

This 60 Minute interview ... really vindicating the campaign's decision to eschew "traditional media" interviews.
Interviewer is trying to play "gotcha" is embarassingly transparent. They desperately want to kneecap her campiagn with a "deplorables" moment.
Look at this baiting....
They want HER to say it so they can pump "Harris Calls Republicans Racists" headlines for the next three and a half weeks. (Not, of course, so that they can cover the actual racism of oh-so-many Trump supporters. They just want to gin up controversy.)
Legacy media interview subjects like this when they are Democrats.
After this, the HArris campaign should schedule an interview on Hot Ones. Maybe even Rogan. As much as I despise him, he's not as swamy as the avergage CBS presenter....

Funding development and deployment of vaccines during a pandemic is the bare minimum a super power should be doing so yea let's all give Trump a big ole golf clap for it!
It's so fucking funny that you couldn't even make up a comedy this good. The only thing Trump didn't completely fail at during the pandemic was "the jab" all his chud voting base thinks injects a tracking device into you, or will kill you or turn you into a mutant or w/e other random bullshit they spew. It's so great for him that he even stopped trying to take credit for it because the chuds hate the vax rofl.

The easiest way to turn that around on him is to ask why he isn't asking them why they're endorsing a candidate whose entire platform is rooted in fascism, bigotry, and disinformation.
Let the electorate explain themselves, if they can. It's not Harris' fucking job to play defense for them.
And if you won't hold their feet to the fire for pushing hateful bullshit as their reasons, you're part of the goddamned problem.

Is there ever a bad time for Donald to do his trademark "double-air-jerk" dance? No, apparently, not even after an event commemorating the October 7 attack by Hamas.
He just can't stop from doing the double-air-jerk dance. It's a good thing he and Melania are functionally separated, I imagine she'd get annoyed with that very quickly.

As the coronavirus tore through the world in 2020, and the United States and other countries confronted a shortage of tests designed to detect the illness, then-President Donald Trump secretly sent coveted teststo Russian President Vladimir Putin for his personal use.
Putin, petrified of the virus, accepted the supplies but took pains to prevent political fallout — not for him, but for his American counterpart. He cautioned Trump not to reveal that he had dispatched the scarce medical equipment to Moscow, according to a new book by Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward.
Putin, according to the book, told Trump, “I don’t want you to tell anybody because people will get mad at you, not me.”
Four years later, the personal relationship between the two men appears to have persisted, Woodward reports, as Trump campaigns to return to the White House and Putin orchestrates his bloody assault on Ukraine. In early 2024, the former president ordered an aide away from his office at Mar-a-Lago, his private club and residence in Florida, so he could conduct a private phone call with the Russian leader, according to Woodward’s account.
The book does not describe what the two men purportedly discussed, and it quotes a Trump campaign official casting doubt on the supposed contact. But the unnamed Trump aide cited in the book indicated that the GOP standard-bearer may have spoken to Putin as many as seven times since Trump left the White House in 2021.
The Trump presidency ... when there were leaky books every 4 months.
An analogous story would instantly end the presidential campaign of any Democratic presidential candidate, although of course it’s difficult to come up with realistic analogies, and would severely wound that of a “normal” (pre-Trumpland) Republican.
But we’re in Trumpland now, so it will be a one-day thing that will boost Bob Woodward’s book sales, and have zero effect on Trump’s candidacy.

Eyo Donald's 2020 campaign appears to have been actively involved in criminal behavior.Atlanta-area prosecutors investigating efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia are in possession of text messages and emails directly connecting members of Donald Trump’s legal team to the early January 2021 voting system breach in Coffee County, sources tell CNN.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is expected to seek charges against more than a dozen individuals when her team presents its case before a grand jury next week. Several individuals involved in the voting systems breach in Coffee County are among those who may face charges in the sprawling criminal probe.
Investigators in the Georgia criminal probe have long suspected the breach was not an organic effort sprung from sympathetic Trump supporters in rural and heavily Republican Coffee County – a county Trump won by nearly 70% of the vote. They have gathered evidence indicating it was a top-down push by Trump’s team to access sensitive voting software, according to people familiar with the situation.
Trump allies attempted to access voting systems after the 2020 election as part of the broader push to produce evidence that could back up the former president’s baseless claims of widespread fraud.
While Trump’s January 2021 call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and effort to put forward fake slates of electors have long been considered key pillars of Willis’ criminal probe, the voting system breach in Coffee County quietly emerged as an area of focus for investigators roughly one year ago. Since then, new evidence has slowly been uncovered about the role of Trump’s attorneys, the operatives they hired and how the breach, as well as others like it in other key states, factored into broader plans for overturning the election.
Together, the text messages and other court documents show how Trump lawyers and a group of hired operatives sought to access Coffee County’s voting systems in the days before January 6, 2021, as the former president’s allies continued a desperate hunt for any evidence of widespread fraud they could use to delay certification of Joe Biden’s electoral victory.
Last year, a former Trump official testified under oath to the House January 6 select committee that plans to access voting systems in Georgia were discussed in meetings at the White House, including during an Oval Office meeting on December 18, 2020, that included Trump.
Six days before pro-Trump operatives gained unauthorized access to voting systems, the local elections official who allegedly helped facilitate the breach sent a “written invitation” to attorneys working for Trump, according to text messages obtained by CNN.
That includes these text messages and others like it that were originally unearthed as part of a long-running civil suit focused on election security in Georgia.
Investigators have scrutinized the actions of various individuals who were involved, including Misty Hampton, a former Coffee County elections official who authored the letter of invitation referenced in text messages and other documents that have been turned over to prosecutors, multiple sources told CNN.
They have also examined the involvement of Trump’s then-attorney Rudy Giuliani – who was informed last year he was a target in the Fulton County investigation – and fellow Trump lawyer Sidney Powell as part of their probe, according to people familiar with the matter.
A spokesperson for Willis’ office declined to comment.
The letter of invitation was shared with attorneys and an investigator working with Giuliani at the time, the text messages obtained by CNN show.
The guy is on a nonstop crime spree, just doing all the crime he can, seemingly.
Wouldn't sending COVID tests be considered an insult from Trump, specifically, to Putin, specifically? Like, Putin is way healthier than Trump, Putin can get his own fucking tests, and quite frankly Trump downplayed the disease even after it nearly killed him.

Which means it's absolutely, 100% true.
