He's a private actor that has had to deal with government overregulation and incompetence. He didn't build his rockets or electric cars by special order from the DoE. He isn't beholden to any cohort that incidentally supports the candidate he does. He's got some points to offer on an insane coastal commission that shut down his California operations because of his mean tweets. He also makes good arguments regarding government agencies that wish him to prove that his rockets won't hit a shark, and afterwards, to prove they won't hit a whale. And then prove they won't detonate underwater and injure marine animal hearing.
This all strikes me as entirely consistent with a guy that likes posting "cool shit SpaceX are up to, collaborating with NASA" and the rest. He has a different political philosophy, and some of it does sound undeveloped and populist. Which, as far as Democrats go, they aren't very inviting to people that see government as getting in their way, stopping progress, intent on wasting money, and generally incapable of helping advance society.
One last thing on the guilt by association angle. He can support Trump for his own private reasons, and simply not care if there's some faction that says hurricanes were engineered by Democrats or whatever crazy stuff exists on the right wing. Democrats already do this for the pro-Hamas and pro-Hezbollah left, the people that think the government needs to define disinformation and hate speech and censor people that violate those standards, people that think Democracy means your vote is owed instead of earned, people that think Trump staged his own assassination attempt, and the way to preserve constitutional norms is to pack the court and dismantle the electoral college. You must reject the crazies from both sides. And I'm self-censoring all the culture war bs that is partially banned by forum rules.
And I say this as someone that won't vote for Trump. I can still understand practical and reasonable people that come down on the other side of me.

I bolded the parts that are relevant to my reply.
The first part is he wants that for people like himself. Everyone else has to be a serf or an outright slave to people like himself. Best example of this is how he treats his workers. To him, they are disposable and once he is done using you, out the door you go regardless if you live or die. This is also why he is aggressively pursuing automation without anyone at the helm. Once you eliminate the cost of the worker when doing business, you also then can remove things like OSHA.
Second, every major business owner wants to remove any regulations that pertain to their business. Every. Single. One. This is a simple fact.
He is pretty much what Trump wants to be. Actually rich. The man is also poor man's idea for Lex Luthor. He neither has the smarts or the cunning to even come close to it. The only thing he has is the money.
I agree with you that much of these aren't actually deep. But I'd say people neglect a wide variety of reasons for why he would think, talk, and support candidates that have nothing to do with "... and that makes him a bad person." After all, it's always the other guy that thinks differently and does so for immoral reasons; these aren't things people generally apply to themselves.

Trump is at McDonald's.
Fucking clown. Of course as a snippet of America Donald who shits on these type of workers anytime he can, then making fun that "this is not work" doing a stunt where they have to station protection people and I believe he was there for less than 30 minutes while the his narrative was supposed to be how Kamala didn't work there. GG McDonald's.
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAH!
The guy at McDonald's tells Donald Trump what to do at the fry machine and he proceeds to do it wrong.
Donald can't even follow basic instructions.
Vid in link. Just linking whole Tweet for source. Ignore the comment really.
Watch this video folks. Again this piece of shit who mocks Fast food workers is taking instruction so slow and working at a snail's pace he would be fired. Gawd I hate this shit how he mocks labor.

So the place wasn’t even open. It was all staged and fake. He didn’t work for real at a McDonalds. It was a staged fraud just like every other event.
Trump is such a theatre kid. So from my previous rant he didn't even really provide No Labor at all. Just a waste of time. I'm sure those workers got paid (I hope) but what waste. Feel sorry for them
Oh btw, Eff this Franchise owner saying "It's not political" but making it as big as political as you can get.

“But this isn’t the end. I promise you, this is not the end, and we have to regroup and we have to continue to fight and continue to work day in and day out to create the better society for our children, for this world, for this country, that we know is possible.” ~~Jon Stewart
It gets even more silly when Trump has made this one of the weirdest points of his campaign. Who doesn't call all of McDonald's to look up the employment record of one person from 40+ years ago? (He didn't, but this whole thing is stupid anyway.)
https://x.com/meiselasb/status/18480...NI0psYg7g&s=19Donald Trump staged the McDonald’s event at a McDonald’s that was closed. The franchise owner of this McDonald’s has been fighting against raising the minimum wage it has been the site of protests in the past for working conditions.
Pics in link.
Oh look the franchise owner is a piece of shit. Mentioned as many he owns multiple franchises and sucks up for the tax cuts.
