Training camp is well underway - got to go to the Red and Blue scrimmage last night b/c they just gave tickets to all STHs. Got to see my baby boy Josh up close and even caught a styrofoam football signed by our fucking punter, lol. Had to give it to a friend I was with because she has a 9 year old son, oh well.

I think the Lawrence contract is less dumb than the Tua one. Tua has physical limitations that will keep him from ever becoming truly elite, but Lawrence could still potentially turn into a top 5 guy if he ever meets his ceiling. The Lawrence contract is a gamble, the Tua contract will be an anchor around the Dolphins' neck within a year or two.

Pre-season football. Panthers at Patriots. 2 of the worst teams from last year so even if 1 team seems much better than the other, it still says nothing.

    Foooooooootball though, lfg

At least our disgruntled veteran Pro Bowl pass rusher hasn't requested a trade yet that forces us to put out a public statement telling him that he's not getting traded.

We just traded him to the Falcons for a 3rd. Easy.

Patriots are not going anywhere this season anyway with their lack of Oline and their brand new installed offense and brand new installed blocking scheme.

And getting a 3rd for an aging Judon who missed most of last season is VERY good business.

Looking forward to sucking this season, and seeing if the offense can make baby steps and get to a point where they at least are all on the same page and executing a cohesive strategy.

And who knows we can maybe catch some teams by surprise on a good day where the defense does what it does and the offense puts it together for a drive or 2 (or 3).

Bucs finally released Randy Gregory after a month of not bothering to show up for his job.

Bo Nix secured the starting spot for the Broncos (go Ducks!).

You never know. As bad as last season was, most of the losses were one score games. I think the AFC east is a bit of a wild card this year. The Bills have seen a massive exodus of veteran talent, Miami is going to suffer from the new focus on enforcing all the penalties on their motion shenanigans, and the Jets are the Jets. Will the Patriots probably end up with the worst record in the AFC? Yes. But it isn't a guarantee. Maybe Brissett plays poorly enough to get benched and Maye turns out to be the real deal as a rookie.

Ricky Pearsall, 49ers' first-round pick, in stable condition after shooting in San Francisco robbery
    https://sports.yahoo.com/ricky-pears...235941723.html
Ricky Pearsall, the San Francisco 49ers' first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, was shot during an attempted robbery at San Francisco's Union Square, per a statement from San Francisco police.

Pearsall is reportedly in stable condition and the suspect is in custody. Police told KTXL's Sean Cunningham that Pearsall was shot through the arm after a struggle for the gun with a suspect, who was allegedly attempting to steal a Rolex watch while Pearsall was going to a signing event.

The suspect was also reportedly shot through the chest and is currently stable at San Francisco General Hospital, where Pearsall is being treated. He was seen walking to the ambulance in a video posted by a KTVU reporter on social media.

The Niners selected Pearsall with the 31st overall pick of the draft, adding him to a wide receiver room that already included All-Pros Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. Soon after the shooting was reported, Samuel tweeted that Pearsall is "good."

Pearsall played at Arizona State and Florida in his college career, with 965 receiving yards and six total touchdowns in his final season with the Gators. He was mostly seen as a second-round prospect entering the draft, but was well-regarded for his route running and soft hands as a slot receiver.

Injuries had so far limited Pearsall's first NFL training camp, spending time on the reserve/non-football injury list with a hamstring injury and working through a shoulder injury after his activation. With his condition only reported as stable for now, it's hard to tell how much time the gunshot wound will force him to miss.

Washington suspended one of its high ranking employees, Rael Enteen VP of Content, for saying some interesting things when catfished by an undercover reporter.

Basically that the fans are violent high-school-educated alcoholic mouth-breathers, the players are "dumb as hell" and only get dumber with blows to the head, the league's social justice initiatives are "performative" (DUH) and only about making money (DOUBLE DUH), Jerry Jones is a racist homophobe, and that time the stadium had leaking pipes that smelled like sewage but he said was just water - may not have been truthful...

Game delayed to 8:40pm ET. Not doing my sleep schedule any favors here...

Last minute prediction for this game and the season: it will be a repeat of last year in more ways than one. Chiefs will lose tonight, but win the superbowl at the end of the season.

Best active coach in Andy Reid, best active QB in Mahomes, not much else to it. I still hope they lose every game this season, but can't always have what you want.

Patriots will start 0-4 and look like they might go 0-17, before turning it around down the stretch, not in small part due to Drake Maye. LFG.

I will also look to a repeat of last year and predict the NFC South will be a mess with plenty of QB controversy and bad coach drama.

Half the Chiefs defense going after Henry and forgot Lamar can run too was funny.

Don't think this new kick return rules will work. Every kicker will be instructed to kick it into the endzone.

Chiefs getting away with illegal formation calls that the Ravens are getting punished with.

Jawaan Taylor getting away with false starts too. Call a game down the middle ffs, refs aren't paid to look away.

The original rule in the XFL had a touchback as going to the 40, to truly punish the touchback. NFL flaked out of that version and made it at the 30, which is only 5 yards worse than last year, so who cares?

40 yards would make so much more sense.

I was ready to call this game for the Chiefs with the Ravens going nowhere and being on 2nd and 17 in a kinda must score drive. But they pulled a play together finally.

Wish they'd throw a flag on Mahomes for that flagrant flopping around he just did going out of bounds.

Ravens were gonna go for two to win, but he was out by a toe, and all of the playoff implications that one toe could now have.

More like what the 2 missed plays before it could now have. The last one was probably the worst of the 3 chances to score, Lamar had Likely open when Likely got hurt and then had Zay Flowers even more wide open, but threw to a spot instead of where Flowers was going.

Ravens blew this, and I have very little faith they would have converted the 2points for the win even if they had been able to go for it.
