Rough start to the year for FSU. Super stoked to have football back. Also I feel like I havent posted here in like 7 years.
True to from, FSU is still demanding a playoff spot after the unexpected loss. ESPN has 12 sports bros standing by to argue why ... /s
Sure there's 12 spots this year. But I think people are underestimating the chaos that will come from the new bloated conferences. There will be more teams jilted by their own conference championship game.
Government Affiliated Snark
FSU doing all they can not to get to the playoffs this season.
Haven't felt this way about BC football since Matty Ice was QB.
Week 2 saw some course corrections for over hyped teams:
- FSU fell out of the polls. Careful pointing this out, they might sue you too.
- Clemson dropped 11 spots.
- Oregone drops 4.
- Georgia (57)
- Ohio State (5)
- Texas
- Alabama
- Notre Dame
- Ole Miss
- Oregon
- Penn State
- Missouri
- Michigan
- Utah
- Miami
- USC
- Tennessee
- Oklahoma
- Oklahoma State
- Kansas State
- LSU
- Kansas
- Arizona
- Iowa
- Louisville
- Georgia Tech
- NC State
- Clemson

I was hoping Michigan would be able to keep it close on defense and surprise me on offense. Neither happened, and it's pretty clear that this will be a transition year. Hopefully still kick some asses during the year to spark the growth we need for next year, from both players and coaching staff.
I expected that to be closer. That was an ass kicking. Our O line mauled Michigan's D line.
GG xskarma. Y'all need to find a better QB for next year.
Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois....
Penn State trails Bowling Green most of the game, then wins by a touch down - stays same rank.
Oregon leads/trails Boise State (with Heisman candidate running back) and win by a field goal - drops two ranks.
Interesting.
At least Oregon is 2-0 while they sort things out.

And Oregon dropped for that shaky showing. And I have no disagreement that Oregon has a LOT to work on. But purely for quality and type of win, the Penn State win was similar to Oregon's, and only Oregon was "punished" for it. And I also realize that these rankings don't matter a ton until the BCS ranks come out. But still....

I was pretty happy with that win against Boise State. Many people don't know this, but despite Oregon's dramatic success over the past 15+ years, we were 0-3 against Boise State. That win was huge despite being ugly.
And as an aside, we relatively stuffed that running back of theirs (yes, despite his big numbers, we really held him overall).
The refs are really rooting for LSU in the second half. 3 blown calls in a row giving LSU great field possession.
