Would’ve been a max level thing, then. Code would specify max level for the achievement, somewhere else in the code would max level be defined as 90. So when they adapted MoP for this, they changed the max level value but didn’t think to remove the achievement.

Sure sure, and the achievement title got messed in the code to and in instead of picking up the "Level 90" part it randomly converted it to "Timerunner". It also randomly added a title that was not a reward in MoP, cause why not. Basically blizzard code has a life of it's own and randomly introduces bugs in the form of achievements and rewards. Thanks for enlightening me.

I mean, it's people choice to do that. It's like saying we should ban McDonalds and other fast-foods because people are eating unhealthy.

    Yes, and?

It's a forum after all. Don't I have your permission to express my feeling about the topic? lol

mate I literally just experienced a bug in game which is displaying GMOTD's of random guilds that have, from what I could tell, have long since disbanded. Bugs are weird, strange things. So yeah, my explanation may have been wrong. But it is backed up by the fact that Blizzard themselves said it was a bug. Do you think they are lying when they said it was a bug? why would they lie about something so trivial?

The amount of people that seem willing to be perpetually replaying classic, wotlk, soon cata and this mop event indicates to me at least that wow will be alive and profitable well into maintenance mode. I can't possibly say that without an option to play retail I wouldn't spend a few months of the year replaying any of the previous expansions. Blizzard would not go bankrupt without retail. Of course, it's anecdotal but it's my feeling.

Loosing what money? How many people are right now as we speak excited to pay to replay classic, wotlk, cata, MoP and all the other expansions? Plus Plunderstorm? WOW will be profitable for years after entering maintenance mode. Especially once they no longer need to be developing any new content. Just "special timed events".

I hadn't thought about the M$ purchase to be honest. That's another good point, and these companies many times just buy other companies to consolidate the market and M$ would probably be more willing to risk trying new stuff than blizzard seemed to be doing of late.

You said you were willing to bet. YOu WILL be wrong. Expansions are still a huge money maker. YOu are beyond niave to think they are going to turn away money like that. IT does not matter if they are profitable in "maintenance mode". They will be even more profitable by continuing to churn out expansions.

Well, considering entering maintenance mode means laying off a majority of your staff, it would be extremely profitable. But not as profitable as releasing an expansion is.

Everyone understands that when they say a big allowed this could very well mean that Blizz planned to do it, tried to take it out, and a big in the coding still allowed it to be datamined, right?
There doesn’t have to be some great conspiracy that people raged until Blizz changed it, or that it is some leftover relic from the original MoP release.
It could just as easily be something they planned but didn’t intend to go live.

Oh boy. What difference does it make.
If it was not intended and it was a bug, ok, fixed, move on.
If it was intended and they decided to remove it based on feedback, what's the problem? Server firsts are unofficial on retail right now so this shouldn't make a difference.
